I wouldnt exactly say we sit back, although I’m not sure what we’ve done in away games as I’ve not been.

I think we lack that creativity at times, especially as we’ve missed Nick Powell, and until recently, Jacobs and Massey. I like how Morsy drives forward though.

Agree. We certainly don’t set out for a point but as games go on, things change and you have to change accordingly.

It became obvious 2nd half that they would be the more likely side to nick it so first things first we had to make sure we got a point but we still had Massey, Jacobs, Powell and Garner on at the end. We didnt take forwards off for defenders like Joyce would have done.

Agree egg! With 2 minutes remaining of injury time, my dad (who is usually one of the calmest supporters you’ll ever meet) was furious as to why we were just tippy tapping in our own half as opposed to going for it.

Myself on the other hand (who is usually the one screaming to go forward), could see the reason we were tip tapping. I explained that it’s probably best now at this stage of the game to hang on for a point, rather than attempt to go for it, do something stupid & end up losing the game.

I for one dont like James in midfield. I also like how morsy drives forward. And I also agree how we do lack a bit of creativity in midfield – a la senor Gomez.

WTF no Powell not even warming his arse and the most defensive team he’s ever picked FFS Cookie.

Sky said he was fit to play but what was that linesman on good point but the others have closed.

What felt like an ok point feels less good on the Rotherham and reading results. Not that bad today with a strong performance from James in midfield. The other results make a result a bit more important on Tuesday, we could do with something from Derby.
I think Fox has been a good signing. Clarke worked harder than last week but we remain powderpuff up top.

Alternatively there are 5 teams below us and we gained a point on 3 of them. But it would have nice of one of the other 2 had lost.

Good hard fought point against a decent side….Clarke put a shift in but we still poor up top.James excellent again, what a loss when he goes. Rotherham certainly know how to fight so this could go all the way. Be interested to know reason for Powells absence.

Powell has been unwell over last few days. However, it appears McManaman was just left out by preference to Pilkington and Jacobs.
Which surprises me a bit, as last game Cook put him on before Garner, as he thought he could liven us up.

Cook decided to set up defensively today, did away with the wide mid, put James in as a diamond midfield. Jones was clearly wasting time at every goal kick. Its a shame we have to set up like that as the home side. I did think James was very good again, though. Naismith was, once again, one of our better players.

Lee Evans distribution is terrible, and Windass didnt do enough. Jacobs was shocking when he came on, and Clarke needs to offer more. In fact, Garner deserves to start, I think.

Mad how we have 3 aways on the trot now, then Bolton here….if they are still in existence. Who knows?

                    #176776

If you had offered me a point before kick off I’d have taken it.

Good point but shame with some of the other results.

Really could do with something on Tuesday but how likely is that after Derby’s hammering today?

Next Saturday at Reading really is the epitome of “must not lose”

I fear for us if we drop into the bottom 3. We don’t look capable of staying up by ourselves, we’re relying on 3 others being worse.

Time to keep the faith, we’ll find a way through it :woohoo:

We got what we played for with a pretty boring performance. That’s another point chalked up. Will definitely finish in an higher position than last time in this league whether that’s above third bottom or above would be a total guessing game.
Still plenty to play for but who knows what will happen.
Think Clarke is just as bad as Vaughan and has brought nothing.
Evans ???? again. Windass ????? yet again.
James was brilliant playing out of position but would have loved to seen him playing on the right of midfield ripping their defence apart. Why was Naismith substituted? Why was Pilkington brought on to play out of position.
Slowing it down with ten minutes to go. One shot on target in 93 minutes in the system brought in just to contain Boro worked ok as they only had one on target too.
Where we will be next season nobody knows and I can’t make my mind up if that was good or shite. Bloody football!!!!

The decision to play Evans in that position baffled me.
We have at least 3 other players who could have done that job better and are used to playing in that position.
Don’t understand what PC is trying to do anymore, every game he seems just content to get a draw.
Again with 15 minutes to go he was telling them to slow down and telling players not to go forward and try to win.
Unfortunately we are stuck with him now because if he keeps us up, he’ll probably be kept on for keeping us up, and if we go down, he will still probably be kept on as he has the experience to get us back up.
                          Its a lose lose situation.

When I heard the team news predicted a nil nil but fairly enjoyed the game. As far as nil nil’s go it wasn’t too bad (apart from officiating)

James & Morsy in midfield worked well, Evans doesn’t really do anything and can’t understand why he keeps getting picked. Why aren’t we getting to see Beni Baningime, surely if we’ve brought him in on loan they must have watched him?

                            #176781

They dont score many, but dont concede many either. First job. Dont concede. Done.

Great point, results around us poor granted, but stil 2 games clear with 11 to go.
