30 January 2019 at 12:18 am #175682If Grigg stays, I’ll be happy.
If he is sold, I wont be.
Its that simple.
And he will.
We could put 4 bids in for Messi for £3m, dont mean we get him.

He hasn’t been sold but it hasn’t stopped you having a girly strop and laying into people as is your usual style. You’re not renowned for reasoned debate and level headedness but it’s a bit much even for you.
Oh and I assume the term pro clubbers was meant as an insult. I actually take it as a compliment. Cheers.
30 January 2019 at 11:19 am #175684These stand off deals rarely get done before the very last minute purely to bump up the cost.
There was even mention of Vaughan to Oxford which I very much doubt.
If the club sell Grigg that decision will be one made solely by Cook no one else based on what type of player he requires. They say the manager knows best and in most cases I tend to agree but in the case of Cook and not just the Grigg saga I’m not so sure.
Too many players have totally frozen out for it not to be a personal thing and too many of Cooks signings near and over the age of 30.
Youth system ? Pointless, not one of those that show promise will ever break through to the first team while Cooks here,
That’s unless they stay at the club until thier 30
And before some smart arse jumps in with the “they might not be good enough” it’s about mixing and training with the first team. Travelling to games sticking on the bench 5-10 mins here and there not get fookin lumps wacked out of them in League One or Two.

Unless the board says “sorry Paul, we can’t turn down the cash”
30 January 2019 at 12:32 pm #175686Year on year the academy is producing players who should have been given a chance. Callum Lang could have been at least on bench this year and if this years u18s (who must be unbeaten in a year) don’t get a chance i think it’s time to close the academy down. We play Liverpool in the youth cup in a few weeks and many expect us to win. Joe Gelhardt is seen as one of the brightest talents in the country and plays for England but will he be given a sniff of minutes in the first team? Sick of update after update of the development and u18s smashing everyone yet there is zero interaction with the first team at any level despite the shite we are being served up most weeks.
30 January 2019 at 12:40 pm #175687At the moment he is still here. He hasn’t gone yet. So is Powell so let’s hope he gets signed up before summer too.
30 January 2019 at 1:45 pm #175688Unless the board says “sorry Paul, we can’t turn down the cash”It’s a sad state of affairs if that is the case. We’d be better run by Pete’s chippy up Poolstock, he’ll be worth more than HK and the Cooky Crew
30 January 2019 at 2:54 pm #175689I do agree on the lack of service as ive said but cookie obviously feels nobody can give that to him
Saying that, don’t be shocked if Leon Clarke doesn’t come back for another stint, he’s on the market looking for a club. He fits “The Cook Profile” perfect.
33…6ft+ hit it long to me , and has had more clubs than Captain Caveman.
[/quote]Don’t say I didn’t warn you, looks like he’s heading back another stint. Another over 30+ and Griggs not going ?.
I’d be shocked if he isn’t even loaned out because with 3 big lumps to aim at high at why would we need him ?
30 January 2019 at 3:52 pm #175691Well he has a better record than Grigg does in this division.
Who says he isn’t coming in to replace Vaughan who is off to Oxford, or perhaps as a 4th striker as opposed to 3?
I didn’t realise we were operating a 1 in 1 out system.
30 January 2019 at 4:00 pm #175692I didn’t realise we were operating a 1 in 1 out system. So you think that we will keep all 4 strikers and the forwards at the club will be happy with that ?
Do you want to buy some magic beans ?

I don’t give a toss if they’re happy about it TBH. We need competition for places so the more the merrier.

Oh, and we will be in administration like Bolton soon too.

Not sure what your beef is with players over 30 either. Of the World XI, there are 6 of them over 30 including the winner of the Balon D’Or.
Our squad of 29 has 7 and most of them have only turned 30 in the last 12 months.

Suppose it was Billy Sharp not Leon Clark we were linked with. Would you moan about that?
30 January 2019 at 5:49 pm #175698Would Billy Sharp have done any better up top this season for us than any of the others?
Without a regular place in the side, without regulars playing behind him and basically without much service or support and at times hoofball tactics it must be questionable that a class striker like Sharp would make much impact. -
