Even if you come back up you always lose fans, sponsorship income and profile along the way. Previous recruitment has relied far too heavily on prospects we hope can step up and keeping hold of players for sentimental reasons. This team was lacking experience and character.
There’ll be plenty of opportunities to bring through our own young players and pick up prospects elsewhere. But first we need to stabilise and establish ourselves in this division.

Believe anything some people. Grigg was going on the last day irrespective of it being 2,3 or 4 million. We knew how desperate Sunderland wanted him so credit to the club for playing hard ball and forcing a good fee. Cook wasn’t starting him,Grigg rightly pissed so was pushing and the management had decided to cash in. I don’t think that’s a recent thing. People have said it for a while. I’m unsure myself. His record at this level isn’t good but his 2 seasons at this level with is were both disrupted by injuries so it’s hard to tell. But the Mackems have certainly paid well over the odds. The frustration is the timing of it.

We sold him for a decent amount , excellent bit of business, was he good enough ? how tf can people say that when Cook didn’t play him or play to his strengths. On 4 goals I dont see anyone else banging them in but no complaints there hey.
