Griggs going no doubt about that. It’s just a case of when

Well I would expect he will leave one day yes, it just won’t be in this window.[/quote]
      Should bloody hope not!

He’s going end of, when your manager says he cannot guarantee he will be here in Feb and every player has a price then he’s going.

Were just hanging on in hope someone else comes in and a bidding war starts. If not?, We’ll make Sunderland sweat and force them to raise their offer to about 500k.

All rumours could be easily quashed by Cook simply saying Griggs going nowhere but he can’t and won’t even though he’s under contact

        #175279

He has said several times that he isnt for sale but as with every player at every club around the world if the right bid comes in he’ll go.

True but I’m not arsed about “every club” every clubs situation is totally different and were a club in a fight to stay up. Regardless of what Cook says Grigg is our best forward by a country mile and he’s not been played.
Sunderland are hardly gonna break the bank to get him to.

I bet they pay far less for him than we paid for Garner or Lopez. He’s 27, probably in his prime and under contract and an international. This for me commands a far bigger fee than the ones been banded about.

I mean, would you stay when you’ve been knocked back to 3rd 4th choice. So who’s fault is that ?? Grigg or Cook ???.
We all know he can and will get you goals if the service is there.

500k he’ll go mark my words. Now if Cook had any intention of keeping he’d had give him some game time.
What a load of bollocks “I prefer to play him along side Powell”.
So is that Cooks excuse for not playing him, Powell’s injured.

He did imply something along the lines of him being a much greater threat playing alongside Powell, Jacobs and Massey, and that he will feature more when those injuries clear up.

A cock eyed excuse for not playing him but maybe its part right or maybe he just isnt 100% match fit yet.
I cannot believe anyone would actually consider selling him for anything below 2 million as in todays market it would cost us far more than that to replace him, if we were to replace him at all that is!!

I heard that too. Jacobs is back. Hopefully the other 2 are nearing full fitness.

All about opinions and if Sunderland up it to 500k it’s goodbye. Totally agree with cup winners.Even 500k is giving him away and as for Cooks reason for not playing him !!! What a crock of shit…..so Griggs career at Wigan is based around Powell and Massey being fit..With statements like that Grigg will jump at the chance, and yes he is easily our best striker. Can’t wait to see what we would purchase in that department for what we may sell him for.

No way can we afford a better striker if he goes on the fee we would get for him it’s a no brainer he stays.

He’s gone there no doubt about that. Cook is trying to justify paying 1.4million for an average player in Garner.
                    Cooks problem ?

Consistency, he’s incapable of back to back performances.

                    #175314

Cook was crap today yes. The way he backed off for the goal was shocking.

You do know that this isn’t FIFA and that he can’t press R2 to control a player don’t you?

Windass and Grigg couldve been a good partnership. The running from Windass, and the finishing from Grigg. Alas, theyve never had a real chance together.

Ive no doubt Grigg will go.

I think our manager is playing a dangerous game. Personally, I still want a change of manager, as I dont believe theres any chance of this fella getting us to where the new owners supposedly want us to get to. And yet theres a guy available now who got an unfashionable, Northern club into the top flight not so long ago….became available last week.

That would be my move, if I were the owners. Thats if they seriously want a crack at getting us back up into the top flight. Target this season:survival and stability. Building for next season. And then some investment, and a serious crack at it.

Whoever is the boss, we cant keep picking up players for free…out of contracts and the unwanted ones. Not if we have serious intentions of achieving something.
