And yet theres a guy available now who got an unfashionable, Northern club into the top flight not so long ago….became available last week

Owen Coyle?
David Wagner.
The same David Wagner that wants a break from management and was paid £2.5m a year? Added to your other shouts of Mark Hughes and David Moyes I really do wonder what planet you live on.

No chance of David Wagner coming, he is far too exhausted after having to manage Huddersfield for 21 PL matches this season.
Idle git, get a proper job and you would have an inkling what tired feels like!!!!

In all seriousness though, the matches are only a fraction of their job.

When we finish work we can go home and switch off.

They rarely switch off, and the stress of knowing that a few thousand people are ready to shout abuse at you, call you names and contact your employer asking for you to be sacked the second you make decision they don’t agree with….

Nah. Despite the pay, it wouldn’t be for me.

I’m fairly thick skinned Johnny, I’d do it for the money but I’d be shit at it as many of you know! :cheer:

You should do it fil. I heard that nowadays managing a team on career mode on FIFA, counts as a qualification.

I don’t do gaming of any sort apart from a bit of Nintendo Wii with the kids now and again at family parties! I’d probably be better at actually managing Wigan Athletic than playing FIFA !

Re-Grigg isn’t it about time the invisible board / chairman came out from their hidey holes and made some comment about it. Sunderland seem very confident about landing him so it could be we end the transfer window weaker than we went into it.

Grigg will be gone that’s 100% nailed on, as per usual, were playing the “How much can we get?” game

If he goes it will send out a very negative vibe in my opinion! After he netted that winner against City did anyone really think he would be leaving the following season for that sort of money? I didn’t see that one coming, not at that price!

If Grigg goes and Powell goes they can shove their season ticket where the sun don’t shine, I would have had enough supporting a club with no ambition anymore if they don’t give a shit why should i.
Ps shit day at work.

I wouldn’t go as far just as that. The Grigg saga is purely a case of the manager does like like him as a player.
Now Powell ? To turn down £8-£10 million was utter loonie tunes stuff. Now 2.4million is been talked about.
Some say your dammed if you dammed if you don’t. I’ve never once moaned when players have left the club for bigger and better things especially when we get our over inflated evaluation of that particular player.

If no one comes in for him in the summer he’ll be gone on a freebie which to me is about as a stupid bit of business your ever likely to see

Totally agree, again the main news regarding Grigg is all from the Sunderland media. Even news about his injury has been reported as a Sunderland loss or dash of hopes with absolutely nothing about the fact that it’s Latics top striker injured and what a set back for Wigan this is. Does anyone know what the chairman looks or sounds like? He is truly invisible.
He needs to stand up and tell Sunderland NO! and whilst he is at it he needs a marketing and media department at the club and needs it fast but if it takes as long as bringing in a left back or the longest takeover ever saga ever I will hold my breath.

I’ll stick to what I posted previously. Grigg is gone. Looks like Sunderland losing Maja to Bordeaux for a reported 3.5 mill and news now report that we have told Sunderland we want 1 million for Grigg. Maybe press dross but I think Grigg sat on bench waiting for Massey/Powell to return put the seal on it !!!…..Absolute transfer negligence considering the striking options we have. Unless the IEC war chest has been opened and we have a replacement lined up then it sends out a really negative message. As for the Powell pantomime then let’s hope he puts pen to paper if in fact he has had any paper placed in front of him ??
