Methinks there in for a long cold night

Well good luck to them, they’ll need defrosting in the morning though.

Wigan played some gorgeous football last night.

    When?

I must have blinked and missed that??

in reply to: Two Points Dropped #128790

I suppose the run of victories had to end at some point it’s just a surprise it came against a bottom 3 side.

We defended poorly. I couldn’t believe how much time Miller got to score his 2nd – no one closed him down. The defense were like statues. And as for the corner for their 3rd …………. :pinch:

Still we didn’t lose and QPR lost so not all bad.

The injuries are totting up though. Barnett,McCann and now Perch.Let’s hope the latter’s is not too serious as I’m still not sure about Rogne.

The last 2 home performances compared to the last 2 away seem to indicate we play better footie away from home at the moment.Hit em on the break perhaps ??????

I think it is partly because I wasn’t there :(

I watched that game on “Ceefax” in a pub in Hawes with 2 laughing Evertonians.Technology hasn’t caught up with Wensleydale yet.

    Nice cheese though. :)

But, opinions and arseholes… everybody has ’em!

As eloquent as ever I see !! ;)

These were the games we played back then

    11 March: Norwich 1-1 Wigan

17 March: Wigan 1-1 West Brom

    24 March: Liverpool 1-2 Wigan

    31 March: Wigan 2-0 Stoke

    7 April: Chelsea 2-1 Wigan

11 April: Wigan 1-0 Man Utd

    16 April: Arsenal 1-2 Wigan

    21 April: Fulham 2-1 Wigan

    28 April: Wigan 4-0 Newcastle

To me the Newcastle game was the culmination of everything that came before it. The previous results despite the blip at Fulham meant they were full of confidence and it all came together to perfection in that 1st half.

Newcastle were 4th and strongly tipped for a Champions League spot and we took them apart with arguably our finest 45 minutes as an attacking force since God knows when.

Still like I said I can’t argue with your choices although as you appear to have a dislike of Liverpool I’m surprised you didn’t choose that game. :)

We played much more of a pressing game last night and Gomez played his full part.I never thought I’d see him get booked for persistent fouling.

He still makes the odd mistake but he has more vision than the rest of our midfield and sometimes it looks bad when some of the passes he tries fail to come off.

He’s playing with more confidence now – the 2 penalties are evidence of that and now the crowd are singing his name – he scores when he wants – which is great.

I can’t argue with your selections but I think that the 4-0 1st half demolition of Newcastle in 2012 also deserves a special mention.
