I’ll let you into a little secret Argus, the DW has a roof on to keep you nice and dry.

It’s the 15 walk from Albert Street that put me off JR. We would have been soaked by the time we got to the Ground.

My Mrs has been working this week so couldn’t get down for tickets. If we’d had tickets we would have made the effort.

Fingers crossed for another home draw !!

    Great win today.

Ashamed to say looked out the window at the pissing rain at 2pm, looked at my daughter and she said ” Dad do we have to go?”

I thought about it said “No we don’t”.

First home cup match I’ve missed for ages !!

Sorry everyone !!

    Everton next round?

I don’t think we saw enough of him to get a true picture of his ability.

Having said that,I thought he was too slow in the games I saw and wasn’t too impressed.

Time will tell if he stays fit.

We’ll be playing against Cardiff next season I expect so perhaps we can judge him again then.

in reply to: Tired legs or team selection and tactics? #126076

How did they line up? Back to a four man defence?

    Al-Habsi

    Boyce Barnett Browning McCann

McArthur Watson (Fortuné – 65′) Jordi Gómez (McManaman – 61′ Booked) Beausejour

    Powell Maynard (Espinoza – 80′)

McCann played on the left side of three centre backs – JB & Browning were wing backs.
Bizarre team selection that.McCann at centre back ??????????????

    Why ??

When the big 4 or 5 are playing on Sunday/Monday you realise how crap the PL actually is in terms of the other teams on show now.

    Norwich v Hull??

    Fulham v Cardiff

    Palace v Sunderland

Anyone v Stoke for example !!!!!

Now we aren’t in the PL I’m really not arsed about MOTD.

I like Neville and Carragher on Monday nights. They say what they think and don’t shy away from issues. When did that last happen on MOTD?

Hanson with his “rank bad defending” and Shearer stating the bleeding obvious is all you get !!!!

Monday Night Footie also gave us the priceless comment from Carra ” No-one grows up wanting to be a Gary Neville”. !!!!! :P

The young lad from Everton was at fault for 2 of the goals. Out of position and as a result poor marking for the first goal and to compound things he gave away the penalty for the 3rd.

Rosler made poor team selections yesterday. No way should Gomez have played against a team who press in midfield. Not with the amount of time he requires.

I also agree Fortune should have started – bit of a slap in the face for him after the last 2 results.Maynard should have come on after an hour maybe.

Well the “tired legs” will have a week to recover now before Palace – that should be an interesting game.

    Onwards and upwards. :)

    Yes

in reply to: FA CUP/CHAMPIONS LEAGUE #125997
Is it time the FA CUP winners fill the last Champions league spot not 4th spot in prem,it would increase the focus on the comp, no more weakend teams and more interest in the competition at the end of the day its called the Champions league NOT who came 4th in the prem.

What would you do then if the final was between Man City, Chelsea or Arsenal, who were the top 3 teams in the Prem.

Oh yeah give it to the 4th placed team in the PL !!!!! :cheer:

Well growing up he would have been Master Bateman.

Nothing has changed it would appear !! B)

    in reply to: Jordi #125860

    It was a great goal.

A somewhat subdued celebration though don’t you think?

in reply to: The new lad from Everton #125852

He’s strong and has got a bit of pace about him. He will be a good loan signing for us.

    Not long though a month.
Cover for Ramis and Rogne. Ramis should be back in 2 weeks.
