What was wrong with those posts to warrant a holiday? I agree with what he said about Heskey, all i can assume is those running this forum couldnt come up with a response so took action.
My latics tv was first, my season ticket second and now with the soft complaining about reasonable posts, this message board who make free speech look like a crime is third. ‘AuRevoir’

Early days we couldn’t afford players wages, so I held no grudge to the club and not only went, organised charity runs to help pay the bills. If however, the players had been on more in a week than I earn a year and despite receiving £100m in one season off tv and letting our best players and manager leave, I would have run a mile. Just like I have done now.

I watch football for entertainment. Or at least i used to, have had no entertainment at football this year.

good riddance, Whelans going to have to tighten his belt now isn’t he, how is he going to survive now that you have cancelled your’e £200 direct debit,
you will still be liable, weather he will persue it, who knows

Dont worry, im sure he will get the £200 from another source. Probably drop somebodys wages or may be swap the team coach from Eavesway to Grayway.
Im not liable by the way, spoke to ticket office and all that will happen is my ticket will be cancelled.
Now, let me check the price of them Tenerife flights…..

My first post I said I was saving £35. Then I said now I am saving £200. That ment season ticket, I know it’s hard for you to understand, but at least try.
Liable you say. That old get wants any more money from me, he can take me to court. I wouldn’t give the thief the steam off my ****!

That quote from you, is the total opposite to both your username, and your signature!

So, now you’ve not got the hinderance of supporting ‘your local team’, who will you ‘support’? Yoonited?

I think you are not the great fan you make yourself out to be, as it happens. If you are jumping ship now, I don’t know how you went on pre 1995.

Oh, and I am sure that the club will still present your direct debit to your bank. And when it get’s returned, it will incur charges that you will be liable for.

              Don’t come back when all’s rosey.[/quote]

I would never support anyone apart from Wigan. I didnt start watching us for success, we were non-league at the time. Through the Bill Kenyon era I stood by the club and continued to watch as normal. Then watched as we went up to the top flight and dreams were really starting. Before the start of that season, we sold players. At the end of the first season, we sold players. The season after, we sold players etc etc until now after it being so blatantly obvious what would happen if the trend continued, it happens again. We replace top players with donkeys. Through non league and every division, ive never been bored watching Wigan but this season its just depressing. Theres no sign of it changing either is there. Do you have the belief that should we be in trouble come January we will strengthen with decent players? I remember previous January transfer windows, hoping we would sign some quality but it never happens. If we go down, do you really think the manager will be given the £20m parachute payment or is it more likely the manager will recieve about £3m and the rest will go missing? You and I both know the answers to the questions I have asked. I have given the club 32 years, so I walk tall. I just dont leave the stadium bored stiff after watching another depressing attempt at football, playing one up front at home against Wolves etc. It would be laughable if it wasnt so serious.

Oh dear oh dear, there are some bright sparks on here. Not exactly playing with a full deck you two are you. But out of pure pity for you, I shall spell it out. Season ticket at £250 minus 3 games at £15 each. Get the general idea?

Why is it when we lose, people say it’s because the player’s weren’t trying. The plain and simple fact of the matter is that Arsenal are lot better than us. They scored 6 at Goodison and are the highest scorers in the league.

I know, stupid isnt it. We were quite clearly trying when you see our posession, goal attempts, yellow cards, shots on target, chances and see us trotting about on the pitch with real determination. You are right though I suppose, this lot are really trying.

                      Ridiculous post/statement.

What would have been a terrible result then? 10-0?

Please dont tell me you couldnt see the sarcasm in that post. Come on Vat lad, you out till late last night? :D

I AM behind Martinez. Definitely. I have to make that clear.

But in all honesty, I don’t know if we will survive this season. Frankly, I’m not that bothered if we don’t. At least we’d have something to play for (again) and would pocket the 20 million parachute payment in the process.
My gut feeling is that we will go down, as I just think the squad is lacking in good enough quality, and leadership. But I can accept that. If we do, it is because we are not good enough. Simple.

All this ‘how long do we give Martinez’ rubbish, makes my blood boil, though.

And who else exactly is going to take over? (Is Bruce Rioch available?)

Doesn’t matter. Still same players, as window has shut, and still no actual money to buy players with.

I’m starting to feel sorry for Roberto. He came back here, largely because of his feeling and respect for Whelan, and then has to scrimp a side together, to compete with clubs who have £100 million+ teams. Damage limitation? Yes, in a lot of games, including next Saturday, that’s the name of our game, I’m afraid.

I think some people STILL cannot digest the financial position of our club. I only wish they would.

”And who else exactly is going to take over? (Is Bruce Rioch available?)

Same players when Bruce replaced Hutchings, bit of a difference though dont you think? As for whose going to take over, why not go the whole hog and give our coach who was sacked by us, Chester and Bury the job, Graham Barrow. By the looks of things, he certainly has a fair influence already. :?

                          Isn’t it £35 a year?

Youre right, but you know what I meant. One things for certain though, ive just saved myself £200. Wouldnt mind watching a team lose every week and indeed being a Latics fan have done in the past. But I do mind when the team show no effort and the club show no remorse. Think a week in Tenerife will be more rewarding than watching these men, disgusted with these performances.

One of the positives is that we won’t be playing away at Arsenal every week.

And an Arsenal team that , in it’s last 2 prem games had it’s a**e kicked by Man U & Man C. Whoever they played today , outside the top 5/6 , was going to cop for it.

SMB – glass still half full. :D

No youre right, a nice easy game v Chelsea next. Well, im starting to wonder now, can Martinez manage in the Premiership. I have seen nothing and heard nothing from him that suggests he can. Giving Martinez time will either be a good decision or a disaster, personally im thinking the latter.

Be honest with yourselves and tell me what we will ever win? We can forget the league, forget the FA cup and forget the Carling cup as we obviously don’t want to win it playing reserves. The attendances are poor, but worse than that the actual support is non existant. We don’t invest and really have no future? Is there any point to it anymore or should we accept defeat and just wrap up?

I am getting back to the ‘not having anything good to say’ stage

Youre not a Latics fan, but i will give you the benefit of the doubt. Youre right as far as winning the league, but would you risk your house on us not getting European qualification in the future, weve come pretty close on a couple of occassions and only been trying 4 years. Who should we forget the FA Cup, even in our non league days the FA Cup was a major plus and any way, if the likes of Wimbledon and Portsmouth can win it, anyone has a chance. Forget the Carling cup despite already getting to a final in four attempts? The support is non existant you mention, well we obviously go to different stadiums. Are you sure youre not going to Robin Park arena? We may as well wrap up being one of the most famous clubs in the world, screened around the planet every week, earning millions and even more than that, going to the pub at 1pm on a Saturday afternoon with the mates, having a few drinks and enjoying an afternoon of football.
Youre a rugby fan you little tinker arent you, thas bin rumbled. ;)

Completely honest, started in 1976 but couldnt really remember as I was sat on my dads shoulders at the time. Used to get took to the sacred heart where my dad would have a few pints and i would sit there with a glass of pop. Loved the football, but at the time hated the pre match entertainment. ;)
