I think you can be ejected from the West Stand for tutting loudly.

You’re right, and I’m already on an official warning for rustling a Worthers Originals packet.
Right…

that’s me putting my Murray Mints back in the drawer then. I’m off for a nice pre-match cup of tea and maybe a soft scone in one of those lovely town centre cafes.

See you all (hopefully) at the game fella’s – let’s stick it to them sh 1tty Baggies.

The 25-man squad thing should be the clear line in the sand for me.

If the league is saying that no-one outside of the 25* is allowed to play at all, then surely the tacit implication is that anyone inside it can play. There has to be such a hard and fast rule, otherwise the decision becomes totally subjective and one man’s opinion against the next man’s.

And we know only too well from this board how tetchy things become when opinions are involved.

        * yes I know you can pick embryos from outside the 25-man squad

..And to quote the milk advert that made Accrington famous again…’Exactly’

You get your 25 man squad and you can do what you want with it.
Quite right

a chum of mine, who lives on the Fylde Coast, tells me of the ‘outrage’ felt in the Blackpool Camp. Holloway has ‘two’ teams he likes to play – and as alluded to earlier, it keeps the other teams and managers guessing. It’s about winning and staying in the premier league for them and Holloway is too much of his own man, and honest to boot, to faf around with stupid tactics.

When it doesn’t ‘fit’ the Dame Trevor Brooking model it would appear that the ‘lower’ teams have deemed to have cheated…………. as ‘Dave’ said earlier, is this the end of football as we know it?

But did Morton Gamst whatever his name is have to go down like that. A grown man falling to the floor after being hit in the chest, by not exactly a killer blow, is pathetic.

Rubbish! What you fail to understand is that footballers, especially Premier League footballers, feel pain far more than us mere morals. A kick on the foot is excruciating, causing them to scream and writhe around on the pitch. So what may seem like a slap on the chest to you and me can cause serious injury, or even death, to a football player. You make it sound like they do this on purpose, for whatever reason I do not know. Do you actually watch football at all?
You’re right Sammy…..

as a mere moral I too feel the pain of scything satire.

All premiership footballers must audition to $ky Sports to have the honour of becoming Scoffy’s avatar.

I encouraged the swearing, standing and “excitement” where I sit …………indeed I encouraged the ‘swearing’ (when appropriate) – there are four guys a few rows down from me who could win medals for their (swearing/standing) enthusiasm. I will engage with them (on Saturday against the ‘sh11tty Baggies) for the cause. We Springfield (West Stand) supporters are not toothless, quiet, lethargic moaners…. as you say – we are the Backbone; the future, however, remains with the youth – I for one support the drummer……………….. He f£ck$ up the opposition tribal calls (as seen against the Bindippers – they couldn’t hack it)

The Drummer Boy (Par-um-par-par-pum) does get the East (aka Boston) Stand going. The stadium needs more of similar though.

            A castanet ensemble perhaps?
I feel I need to mention the ‘whistler’ and the ‘Heinz Family stand’……but I can’t (at the moment) get it into the thread.

              Hmmmmm!

Never received a ‘jab’ in the ring then fella?

‘Street’….’professional’……’drunken’……hit. You’ll never know. However, Barton (the coward – as he never looks you in the eye before he does the dirty) went for the usual heart/lung ‘jab’.

PKBF – this ‘blow’ – delivered correctly – will incapacitate you.

Regardless of size, I too, would join the line to ‘smack’ (in the day time or in a dark alley) this football embarrassment.

The crunching of Murray Mints and rattle of poorly fitting dentures can be deafening in the West Stand. It sometimes drowns out the snoring.

                I am so disappointed Sir…..

Sit near me and listen to the passion……..your analogy is fantasy bo11ox. These people you ridicule are the backbone of the supporters and the club…….I would have expected better from you sir…..

I ‘stand’ and ‘shout’ and ‘swear’ and ‘support’ from the “West Stand”…….as you prefer to call it – without a reference to the personalities you refer to.

Mr Walker……you are better than that.
But Mr C, although my teeth are all my own, I am one of the Murray Mint crunchers of WS7, and have taken to napping whenever the oppportunity arises.

I stand, shout and then swear. Usually in that order, sometimes in excitement, sometimes in anticipation and sometimes because I have cramp.

The Springfield (nee West) Stand, is indeed the backbone of the club, however, that backbone is slighly more bowed these days, and suffers a bit at this time of year due to the damp and cold.
IMO if a club like Blackpool, Wolves or even Latics makes 10 changes against a “bigger” club they are doing with the intent (whether they openly admit it or not) of losing that game and as I said I don’t think its right

Absolute bo110x….because as a ‘progressive’ referee you fall into the sycophantic ways of the paymasters. As Mr Holloway, quite rightly says, “it is the managers decision to play who he feels will win the game”….FFS….Blackpool scored two goals -away from home – and were unlucky not to have won the game. We all know about the “25 man squad” rule….it’s about time the FA put down their ‘cigars and port’ and got in touch with the people who pay their wages………

Ian Holloway talks alot of sense but Man Utd and Ferguson deserve this. They have been taking any player they like for years and now the boots on the other foot they dont like it. No sympathy here.

                      Exactly fella….

too many people with short memories. Remember it was ferguson’s spat over the racehorse and stud fees years ago with his ‘Irish’ partners that led to them selling their shares on the open market….up steps the Glazers…….buy, buy, buy….majority holders – and so the ‘cash cow’ is born. They (ManU) are just as guilty as any other in this comedic escalation of player – should I say ‘agent’ power; masquerading as the sport we all once loved.

Tomato nose is getting a little bit of Karma…… and it doesn’t taste nice. Not only do the Glazers take their 30 odd million ‘cut’ per year from the club, they have also borrowed 200 million in the States and secured it against ManU (at 16% per annum)……..r@ped.

And people complain about the way we are run as a club…..they need to take themselves outside and give their head a shake.

Just a reference to one of the comments above, which said TAKING POINTS from the newcastle game, I see it as 2 points dropped rather than 1 gained seeing as we were 2 goals up going into the last quarter of the game. we seem to be improving very slightly (and i use that term loosely) but if we are to stay in this league we need to be able to hold onto a 2 goal lead.

Interesting perspective, but I’m sure that the day before the game you would have heard a multitude of people stating that they ‘would take a point at SJP’ – if only to maintain our momentum.

We all know about ‘dropped points’ – Chelsea….1st game, how Burnley must have felt in that 93rd minute and ‘That’ Arsenal game. I agree….we are indeed improving, but we are not the only team not able to hold on to a two goal lead (check Northampton at home to Hereford yesterday).

Taking points away is always a bonus.

It’s a reasonable run of results after a disgraceful start to the season, but drawing with the likes of Newcastle,Sunderland and Birmingham is far from great.

A little unfair I think. Yes, I agree it’s a reasonable run of results, however, taking points away at Newcastle and Birmingham is not bad really. Sunderland at home?…… now that was a missed opportunity.
