But I am provoked to respond when the comments get more extreme and the insults get more abusive.

That’s quite ironic coming from the person that has perfected the art.

Sits back and waits for the barrage of insults winging it’s way towards me for pointing out how things are on ‘Griffney Latic’[/quote]

It’s more ironic than you think!

It’s a long way to 1000. Good luck.

I, for one, am not posting on this thread because I have something to say about Martinez. It is the constant stream of shit and nonsense from the regular knobheads that motivates me to post on this thread. But I am thoroughly bored with it now.

I’m not too worried about Roberto either – I’m sure that he can look after himself.

But I am provoked to respond when the comments get more extreme and the insults get more abusive.

The Bobsessives have never understood that I’m not defending Roberto. If I’m defending anything, it’s truth and common decency.

And now we’ve had more than a thousand replies! We’re just going over the same ground again and again. I’m happy to leave it there.

Jeesh you’ll not have it will yer, you’re like my chubster mates who still say they get bigger crowds than us.

I’ll say it for the last time and with a bit more vigor , I HAVE NEVER SAID THAT EVERTON WOULD FINISH IN THE BOTTOM 4, I DID NOT START THIS THREAD, MY FIRST POST WAS “I’M SAYING NOWT”, THEN I POSTED ABOUT THE GAME THEY HAD WITH CHELSEA AND THE FACT THAT CHELSEA SHOULD HAVE HAD SIX. CHECK ALL OF THE POSTS ON THIS THREAD AND YOU WILL SEE THAT I NEVER SAY EVERTON WOULD FINISH IN THE BOTTOM FOUR, I DID SAY HOWEVER, THAT I PREDICTED THAT EVERTON WOULD NOT FINISH IN THE TOP 6 AND I STILL STAND BY THAT [FANCY HAVING A BET WITH ME ON THAT?]
THE ONLY PERSON TO PREDICT THAT EVERTON WOULD GET A CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SPOT WAS A CERTAIN MR ROBERTO MARTINEZ DURING HIS FIRST INTERVIEW AS THE EVERTON BOSS, THE ONE WERE BILL KENWRIGHT WAS STAINING HIS PANTS AROUND THE ZIP AREA.

CAN WE MOVE ON NOW PLEASE YER MOANING LITTLE GIT?

So this post was just a bit of fun.

I’m relieved – you had me worried for a while!

PS Everton finished in fifth place.

    PPS Have a good holiday.

The Bobsessives don’t let go easily.

Rather than fighting against relegation last season, Roberto ended up playing for a place in Europe.

So Bottom Four Bob has now become One Season Wonder!

Midweek European matches are something new for Roberto – as they are for Brendan Rogers and Steve Bruce too. Let’s see how Roberto gets on. Perhaps Robles, Alcaraz and Kone will get a chance to play. As I’ve said, winning the Europa League would be an alternative way for Everton to gain a place in the Champions League.

Last year, Liverpool were spared the burden of European games, and had a much-improved season in the league. This year, Manchester United and Tottenham will not be playing the extra midweek games. They both start under new managers, and I expect them to improve on their league performances of last season.

JR, you sound increasingly desperate. You should try to relax.

You can imagine the conversation at a board meeting, but you can’t imagine an Everton fan saying, “Roberto, he’s quite good, isn’t he?”

He wasn’t Judas, and he isn’t likely to be the Saviour either. Despite his achievements so far, he isn’t a miracle worker – he’s a fellow human being.

    A cool and calm assessment from the School of Science website;

Now, we have our Bobby. He has gotten rid of the ‘Route One’ and replaced it with an astonishingly beautiful playing style of possession and flair. And Sylvain Distin’s clearances.

We have been changed [from] a fan-base that sauntered groggily down to Goodison on a Saturday afternoon to struggle to keep our eyes open, (Most of the time, Moyes had his moments in fairness) to a scarily jolly group of mates who will scream ‘Oviedo Baby!’ at the top of their lungs while dancing in their seats watching the Blues play like Barcelona. It’s amazing how much one man can do to change the opinions of the widespread consensus in a mere year.

Roberto Martínez has transformed Everton into a team which has been a joy to watch, and been a guilty pleasure to many fans around the country. Heck, the World.

[Danny Finkelstein] used the wage bill of each club to predict the number of points that it should win. The manager who exceeded his target by the most points to become “a very worthy winner” of Manager of the Year is Roberto Martinez.

That is the most pointless post in the history of forums.[/quote]

So now you do agree that the managers with the greatest resources should be more successful!

in reply to: How Long Before “Bottom Four Bob” #132301
My money is on Everton doing no better than they did last season, in fact I’ll stick my neck out and say they will not be in the top 7.

It will be tough at the top, I’m sure. Michael Owen says, “But, in no particular order, my top four for next season would be Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool.”

Arsenal and Spurs are likely to be big spenders too. Everton – with much more modest resources – will have to compete with these big six clubs. And, for the first time, Martinez will face the challenge of Europa League matches.

So your forecast is not very adventurous after all, JR. It will indeed be asking a lot of Everton to finish even in fifth place once again. But the Europa League does offer them an alternative route into the Champions League. Perhaps Everton should concentrate their resources on that instead of the league.

However, there may well be upsets. Rodgers, at Liverpool, will also be leading his club into Europe for the first time. He will have to replace Suarez too. And Spurs and Manchester United will both start the new season under new managers. And who knows how Stoke and Crystal Palace will perform?

I wonder if they are among the 96% who renewed their season tickets.

Season tickets top 26,000 By admin on June 6, 2014

The clamour for 2014/15 Season Tickets has now seen over 26,000 Evertonians secure their seats at Goodison for the upcoming Premier League campaign.

A hugely successful Early Bird window earlier this year saw a year-on-year increase in purchasers of 21%.

96% of fans have now renewed from last season and there have been almost 5,000 more sales this summer than at the same point 12 months ago.

I’m sick of hearing people saying on here that Everton supporters are well chuffed, not the ones I work with.

But most Everton fans seem to like the way Martinez does things.

Everton ‘very encouraged’ by season ticket sales 09/04/2014

With two weeks still remaining of the Early Bird discount window, the number of Evertonians buying a Season Ticket for the very first time has rocketed by 202 per cent compared to 12 months ago.

The percentage of existing Season Ticket holders renewing for next term is also up compared to the same day of sales last year.

Junior Blues are particularly keen to secure their seat at Goodison with the number of under 16s signing up to become regulars increasing by 95 per cent.

Perhaps Roberto should give top priority to the Europa League.

Win that and Everton would qualify for the Champions League, possibly even entering at the group stage.

That would deliver his promise to BK.

Yes, but Kone will be fit to start the season.

    As will Gibson and Ovieda.

And he’s signed Barry too, who will resume his partnership with McCarthy.
