Natdan…..Sorry I really can’t be arsed answering all your questions but I support Martinez.
The reason is this, we had a good manager in Bruce. He kept us up and pushed us on. Then for whatever reasons the chairman decides that he needs the money and withdraws his financial support and starts to sell off good players and we spend buttons replacing them.
Our results take a massive turn for the worse and Bruce jumps ship and I can’t say I blame him……
Now at that point we look about as attractive a proposition as Bella Emberg in sussies! :x
If you think back there wasn’t exactly many managers beating down our door to come to us was there? Somehow Whelan managed to convince Roberto that it’s a good move for him to give up all the work he has done at Swansea and come and join an outfit with small crowds and according to many pundits a dead cert again to go down. With yet more rumours of several more players wanting away.
I’ll wager there was talk of big transfer budjets somewhere along the negotiations
I believe no matter who we got in as Bruces replacement we were destined to struggle, with a rebuilt team yet again. It was naive to think anything else. Our current predicament is no real surprise.
I believe Martinez has taken on a massive task and has unsurprisingly made a lot of mistakes. But, he is learning from them, and if we stay up this season I believe he will take us on. If we don’t I believe he is our best chance at getting back up again.
In short I will be supporting him even if we get relegated.
Good lord your post sounds positive Ticslad……who’d a thowt? ;)
I can understand refs getting decisions wrong when they are having to make them in a split second, but a foul in the box when you are the last man and denying someone a clear goal scoring oppurtunity is a red card. Simple as.
A shocking decision which probably cost Villa the League cup.
I’ll wager it’s cocktails for Dowd at Ferguson Towers tonight!
Stick me down on your list Ticslad.
So these Martinez lovers, where exactly do you sit at the stadium, as im yet to hear one positive remark about Martinez?
I could have sworn many hundreds of fans in the East stand regularly chant Roberto Martinez’s name?
But whats up with the bloke?
OK, we rescued him from a fate worse than death at Newcastle.
OK , he gets paid more in a week than most of us get in a year.
OK, he is still very young and has a good career to look forward to after his time at Latics.
OK, he should knuckle down and earn his wage and start playing as part of the team. It’s on and I have dug in 32 ;)
I don’t think NZogbia had a knock, and I think it was a good managerial move by Roberto to sub him.
I have just had the feeling in the last few games that NZogbia has been getting complacent, and has not been playing for the team. I believe he is playing for one man only and as such I think the manager showed alot of guts in subbing him.
There has been many times of late NZogbia has gone passed his man and there has been an easy pass on, but instead has tried to take on the next man and lost possession. I thought we improved massively with Robertos substitutions and we started to trouble Brum. Unfortunatley it wasn’t to be.
We are in a lot of trouble but I strongly believe we should stick with the manager now.
Up the Tics!
It did state that London as at least 9 million living there while Greater Manchester (spit) as at the most 3 million people to choose their support
I’m not disputing those figures 32, in fact I think they sort of help back up what I am saying, but I have read the article again and can’t see those figures quoted?
The fans of big clubs make my moobs leak…..why can’t they see that attendances are based on percentage of support….
I’ll wager most big clubs have at the very least 100,000 fans living within the area of their ground, therefore they will probably be able to fill 30,000 seats for most games.
If you have about 20,000 fans living within the area of your ground, which I’ll wager is about right for Latics, we will often struggle to get 20,000 to attend the ground.
The top four and teams like Everton, Spurs, Man City (now) and several others have numerous supporters from all over the place who turn up to their games. We have a small group of supporters from outside Wigan who manage to get to games.
It’s something to be proud of that we are a small town team mixing it with big City teams, and a massive percentage of our support is drawn from the local area.
Winding up thick big team fans is what makes staying in the Prem worth it for me.
I knew we would loose as we were playing a better team, I thought it would be 0-2, as it would have been if the linesman wasn’t such a twot!
Some people need to get real we will nearly always loose against top 6 clubs.
Giggedy. ;)
I thought Moreno had a good game. He holds the ball up loads better than Scotland, looks faster and more skilful. All in all he looks like he will be a very useful player for us given a bit of time.
Are you bothering your backside going Yosser?
Good shout, but any attempt at trying to rouse up support on here is usually met by being labelled a superfan blah blah!!
If we can’t get a good crowd on for this game which is Maaaaaaaaaaaaasive…we are struggling!
