Thought we played very well last night, after a dodgy first 10 mins. For long spells in that game, it looked like we could get a point, and possibly nick a goal. 3-0 does look like a bit of a pasting, but I thought we showed what we are capable of last night. As for the keeper, great save from Tevez first half, but that attempt for the first goal was just embarrasing….hope he apologised to the team for an awful error which ruined all their good work.
Having seen it again after the game, it wasn’t a two-footed challenge by Caldwell, he had one foot on the ground throughout the challenge and clearly played the ball with that foot.
Incidentally, I noticed that as he got up, Caldwell made a stamping motion with one foot, wondered why, but having seen it again Tevez goes in two-footed, studs up but fortunately misses both Caldwell and the ball.
Disgraceful decsion by the ref, particularly as he couldn’t have seen it properly, but I think if we appeal those clowns at the FA will add an extra game to the ban.
Did anyone else spot that City were allowed to take the corner which led to the 2nd goal when we were down to 9 men? Didn’t realise myself till I spotted Scharner (I think), stood on the touchline.
I would have agreed with you JayT, but just look back to around this time last year, the best team we’ve ever had, 7th in the league and less than 13,000 Wiganers turn up. The other lot are looking like having their best season for years and they have to give away pies etc to get people in. Seems to me that a good number of Wiganers prefer to watch both teams on t’internet or in the pub rather than get down to the DW.

Looks like our Dingle friends have been at it again…scumbags
I know what you mean Edinburgh, but our normal prices arent exactly extortionate…..these friends we’re being encouraged to bring along should get off their backsides more often. I do agree with the principle of getting more people in, just think maybe its too cheap this one and worded in the wrong way.
The offer isn’t rewarding the ST holders, it does seem that sitting on your backside for 8 months of the footy season does get you rewarded by Latics. That said, in fairness to the club, they’re only trying to get bums on seats, though £4 a ticket does seem ridiculous.
Problem the club has is that no matter what they do, we don’t seem to be able to attract the support. Whelan and the board must be sick of our low numbers and must wonder what they have to do. I often hear people say “its too dear” and I despair, I really wonder what people in this town want. Even the shite have to offer free pies etc and still only get 17K on for one of their biggest games. Seems to me that too many people want something for nothing and they’re an embarrassment to those of us that make the effort.
Average player and a horrible, disgusting human being. Next time he played against him, Arjan should have snapped him in 2 after what he did at the Reebok, I reckon the red card would have been worth it just to hear his legs crack.
Can see Blackburn scoring again…had a perfectly good goal disallowed, although the penalty was a dive on a par with Fahey’s at Brum.
He’s nowhere near international class, but at the moment he’s in really good form to be fair to him. May be a one season wonder, but he has been very good for Fulham this season.
My thoughts exactly, if they’ve a chance of winning the tie, I would think he would rest possibly Zamora, Murphy, Hangeland, Duff and Dempsey. That said, by all accounts, their weakened team were all over Hull for most of that game.
Course they won’t get the same press, however O’Neill will get fearful stick from their fans….they make our moaners look amateurish. I’ve no doubt on their message boards and radio phone-ins, some fans will want him sacked. Absolute, complete and utter idiots them Villa fans
I agree Filmos, it doesnt “reward” us ST holders. As for my “loyal” comment, I was being sarcastic…don’t the eggmen claim to be the most loyal fans in the whole history of the universe, ever?
If our chairman reads this website, he must feel like selling our club tonight. He allows people to watch Premier League football at £4 and still some tossers are moaning. What the hell do the people in this town want?
I love our club, but some of our so-called fans are embarassing. At least when the egg-men bribe their “loyal” fans with pies etc, they turn up, even if it is just for 1 game…all some of our lot do is whinge.
Most of our fans that turn up are superb, but as for those constantly moaning about price. they really don’t know how lucky we are as far as the pricing goes (apart from the kids tickets).
If a number of players are sold and their new clubs refuse to let them play, will the Premier League give Wolves their £25K back for fielding a weakened team. They can’t penalise them for that, then possibly sanction Pompey doing the same thing, because they cant run their club properly
“the goalscorer for Manchester City, number 32 Carlos Tevez”…..is it too much to ask for this to be heard in the last minute at Upton Park as WHU are relegated?
Oh and on that game tonight and other recent games, is there now a rule that given the chance, refs must miss at least 1 blatant penalty per game? Wolves should have conceded at Villa on Sat and should have had one tonight, but there’s been loads of clear pens not given lately.
