You probably don’t realise that this is
the order of the current top four in the SPL.Here’s one for you:
Carlisle United Northampton Town

The season hasn’t gonbe to plan by a long way so far, but looking at the remaining fixtures, how many points can you see us getting?

Villa (H)-1
Swansea (H)-3
Norwich (A)-0
West Brom (H)-3
Liverpool (A)-0
Stoke (H)-3
Chelsea (A)-0

Now I like to see myself as a glass half full kind of person but seeing as we’ve had only one home win since last May, don’t you think you’re being an incy wincy teeny weeny little bit over-ambitious with six home wins bewtween now and May 13th?
However, after watching it again on the the replay, he was just inside the opposition half, there was a Wigan player within 10 yards of the incident in full stream trying to get back. When the ref blew for the hand ball this player was almostt in line with the incident .So you are truly, honestly saying that you don’t think it was a red card? Your defence of the team and optimism is sometimes admirable but this post proves that you really don’t have a balanced view and are constantly wearing the rose-tinted proverbials.
Probably as blatant case for a red card as I’ve ever seen.
Be sure you pass that nugget of information on to Wenger and Guardiola.Unfortunately for Martinez, he doesn’t have the luxury of having players like Wenger and Guardiola have and have had, players that can pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, KILL.
Gotta admire him for trying though. Just needs to convey to players that there’s sometimes another option other than facing their own goal and passing when they receive the ball – er, going forwards and passing
Very little to argue with there, very well written article goodpost – though I do believe that Maynor Figueroa is Prem quality.
Just seen the highlights-worst refereeing i have ever seen in 36 years watching football at all levels. He misses a stonewall corner that then leads to a free kick that never should have been given as the guy fell over.
They are effing amateurs of the highest order-who cares whether we stay in this horrible poxy division after that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :angry:ps Sunderland are one of the worst teams i have seen this season-flattering scoreline or what?
A few ‘minor’ ( ) exaggerations there but 1-4 was a little flattering. Someone said on another thread that the difference was that they bagged their chances and we didn’t. True. A couple of defensive errors and a couple of dodgy ref decisions, also true.
Wasn’t the worst example of reffing in the past 36 years either. We didn’t lose the game 1-4 because of the ref. Anyone who thinks there’s some conspiracy against us as far as referees are concerned is clutching at straws. No-one’s complained about our penalty on Saturday (except quite possibly every Stoke fan)
I enjoy watching the way we play, regardless of the result. I’m no football manager and I wouldn’t tell Roberto Martinez how to do his job (his style is spot on, just need a couple of quality players to really make it work) but I have worked out that Connor Sammon is not a footballer. Sort it out Bob.
Top ammy league ref. Used to do the round up for the ammy leagues in the local rags. He reffed a final of a cup at Robin Park that I played in many years ago. Did the programmes for the game and honoured me with being the ‘one to watch’ on our side and referring to me as a ‘cultured striker’. I’m sure he got me mixed up with someone else
Was also linesman when Man Utd and Arsenal had the infamous 20 odd man brawl in the late 80s.
It would appear the people that think this thread is pointless or are uncomfortable with it are the ones that don’t live in the town or have switched allegiance at some stage.
Not living in the town and supporting Wigan is only the same as someone from Wigan supporting Man Utd. I have no problem with these people, long may it last. They’ll be Wigan til they die. That is unless/until they switch allegiance. However, I find the whole concept of this as being impossible. Once your club’s in your blood, it’s there forever. If it isn’t, it was never your club in the first place. You can at best be adopted. No soft spots for other clubs, no caring about who wins a game if your club isn’t involved (unless it directly affects your club), your club’s yours forever, for better or for worse.
Easier to change your woman.
Slower than I thought, slow as in of those people that don’t do context or irony.
Said in context i.e. we did have a team but not a proper one, like one in the league even if it’s fourth division rather than a non-league tinpot team the town had until 1978 so they weren’t worth supporting.
Is it just me that finds that whole paragraph alittle bit ignorant?
Not a proper club? Tinpot club?
What a proud supporter you are.
How slow are you? Jesus.
Said in context i.e. we did have a team but not a proper one, like one in the league even if it’s fourth division rather than a non-league tinpot team the town had until 1978 so they weren’t worth supporting. So kids support the team that’s top of the league at the time or support the team their dad makes them support.
Not sure what you mean about making excuses. I can’t be doing with the feckers. Surprised you didn’t glean that from my post.
Town’s full of them. Understand it because they’re sons of United fans past (when we didn’t have a team (sic)).
We’ve not even got near to getting anything of them yet, love to see how they’d react if we did, instead of patronising little Wigan fans about how we were unlucky to have an outside of the box penalty given against us while they’re 3 up or whatever.
For what it’s worth, I thought 5-0 was a little flattering for them. Wasn’t a penalty and Sammon shouldn’t have gone, though this made little difference as he’s a Championship player at best. Reminds me a bit of Jason Roberts but without the finesse and goals, all arms and having to foul his marker to win a ball. Known in the game as ‘a handful’.
Surprised Franco did as well as he did when he came on because if Sammon gets a shirt ahead of him, I’d imagine his confidence must be shot to bits.
Hansen has been obviously been told to apologise. What he said was innocent and (largely) inoffensive. The Mirror is hamming it up big time this morning saying Lee Dixon was squirming in his chair at the ‘gaffe’. Gaffe my arse. As a professional broadcaster, maybe he should subscribe to Political Correctness Monthly to update himself on what can and can’t be said in this particular ever changing realm.
100 complaints to the BBC. Sheesh. Get a life.
What is all the fuss about ?If they are not coloureds, what the hell are they ?
Your first question sums up my point.
Your second question is just a tad David Brentesque
was round manchester all afternoon (week off) wi the owd fella…….loads of munich fans there, good drink too…………..oh i’ll carry on drinking toneet. roll on monday when i geet back work wi all them PLASTIC (UNTS
GEET A NICE JACKET TOO……BIT PRICEY LIKE (OBVIOUSLY)
Calm down young man……
It is understandable the need to see your competitors go the way of the ‘grave’ however, for me I take no pleasure in seeing some french, spanish, kraut….etc (you get my drift – ind in small letters) team win a prestigious trophy. Whoever it is (and it is now left to the southern muppets) I would prefer it to stay in this league……this is, after all, what we are trying to promote.
Clowns who jump up and down saying ManU and Citeh are out (let’s have a party) want to be lined up and shot outside their house in front of their family (c)copyright Clarkson………but you get my drift.
Love them or hate them…..they are hooooooge clubs…and they represent all of us too…..FFS I watched ManU beat Benfica on an old Black and White telly (when it was a completely different competition)and have been in love with ‘football’ ever since.
We have our team…..everyone hates others…….but when it comes to sticking it up the rest of Europe I want it to be from the E P L.
Our league…our team…..our way in the world.
Pity you have your puerile differences……
….I like your enthusiasm normally. ;)
I’m with rodellagabomb on this, especially in the case of United. And not because of the club but their take everything for granted, whinging, moaning fans. You should’ve heard ’em on Five Live last saying Ferguson should resign. Wtf? They wanna support a team like ours year in, year out. Wouldn’t have minded seeing City kicking a few European arses in the later stages but they were unlucky.
B0110X to United and their fans I say (especially the ones from around here who look down on Latics fans as second class citizens or summat). I reckon we might nick a point off ’em on Boxing Day…….
