It is the Supporters Club Bar, for Members of the Supporters Club, those that pay £5 per season to have a place to go for a drink, munch and a nater before games. They get safe travel on coaches and they get events and entertainment like fans forums, WSAC annual dinners and bands playing in the Supporters Club Bar before and after games.

    Ever heard of it?

So it’s a local bar for local people? is that what your saying

LAST GAME OF THE SEASON AND WIGAN LATICS SHOOT THEM SELVES IN THE FOOT AGAIN.

looks like Bernard and his crew will have to go to the bar for us ( totally ridiculous scenario)

EDIT ….by the way wombat you sound like a right arse and that is perhaps the reason why i go to the Brick before games rather then spending my precious time in the company of spanners like you!

If he isn’t dead, do you not think he might pop up on some media channel somewhere in the near future to reveal the untruth? If so, as far as elaborate plots go, this one would prove to be pretty bloody transparent.

Maybe they didn’t have a clue what to do with the body to stop his burial place becoming a shrine and constant security issue. Which country would actually accept a dead Bin Laden? Maybe he was tortured and mutilated by the Americans in retribution, and his body was dumped before anyone found out. Maybe he was already dead when they found him. Maybe he’s been dead for a while.

There may be more to it, but I don’t believe for a second that they would make Pakistan look so ridiculous – when they are desperate to have the country as an ally. And also, why risk antagonising Muslim extremists all over the world if there was a chance that it could all be disproven so easily by him appearing on the internet holding a copy of today’s paper.

    He’s dead.

He is Brown bread and i’m not disputing that. the question here is how long as he been brown bread?. what are we going to get as evidence of his demise some grainy picture. when these seals or dolphins or what ever you call them do these missions they have camara’s on their helmets as standard . HEY BUT OSAMA IS NOW A WARRIOR PRESIDENT ACCORDING TO THE BRITISH GOVERNMENTS MOUTH PIECE THE BBC. all this is going on but people on here are more concerned about Bobs shoes and Hugo not messing his hair up and God forbid my Beloved going through the trap door after 6 years of punching above their weight!! AS ALAN PARTRIDGE WOULD SAY ……SOME PEOPLE :P

in reply to: Osama Bin Laden – DEAD #64598

I just don’t buy this story that they have killed him the other day. Pakistan was not involved in the so called killing of Bin Laden because it is a made up cock and bull story and if it was him like they say then why conveniently dump the body at sea. yeah right they did not want to upset muslims? that as not stopped them before as it. DNA records match with his sisters blah blah blah. If the Sheeple want to believe this fairy tale then that is their problem  .

edit… I think this bloke speaks for a lot of people out there. [link2:1xb9q4v8]click here,http://www.wat.tv/video/osama-bin-laden-is-dead-really-3mwot_31wod_.html%5B/link2:1xb9q4v8%5D

I failed to mention how my opinion on Zidane is based upon the modern era of footballer. Best player ever for me is Pele. Great resume for Zidane there but i don’t see a Dairy Crest Floodlit League winners Medal so in my eyes he does not count as one of the all time greats because of that glaring omission from his honours :P
no frieght rover/auto wndshields either -hes crap
Exactly mate a winners medal from them as well and he does not have it in his resume so i guess the poor bloke must lie a awake of a night tossing and turning beating himself up about that Freight rover trophy and mercantile credit shield winners medal along with the dairy crest floodlit league winners medal that are glaring ommisions from his football CV?

    in reply to: rip #64482
I well remember listening to his fights on the radio (not televised live then) – waiting for “‘Enery’s ‘ammer”.

Unfortunately always seemed to end (in my memory maybe) with Harry Carpenter saying “there’s a cut over Cooper’s right eye”.

    RIP – a gent.

Only just heard from reading this post. I have noticed as i am getting older 42 now i am noticing people who i remember from my childhood are dying every other week. Poly Styrene last week from X ray specs. R.i.P Henry!. that was one hell of punch to send Ali to the canvass :angry-boxing:

Messi is not a Flawed Genius as well like some of the past Greats have been Maradonna , Gazza and Best etc. Is Messi the Best of all time?. only when he does it for Argentina as well. until then i would say no and Say Pele still is.

I can remember watching Leyland Motors playing Fleetwood town back in the day in the old Northwest Counties League. I also remember the Motors playing Southport in an obscure defunct competition called the Dairy Crest Floodlit League. Still no proper Club Team in Leyland . tick tock tick tock

in reply to: Do you want us to stay up? #64344

    what a stupid thread!

Why would anyone want us to go down??
Any fan that would rather have his club relegated needs shooting for crimes against football – end of!

I can see where you’re coming from, and it may seen stupid but I really wouldn’t mind if we went down. Don’t get me wrong, it’s great seeing us in the Premier League but I wouldn’t be heart broken about relegation and here’s why…

    1. Fighting relegation every season gets very repetitive especially when we just stay up to do the same the season after. I know Martinez talks about the ‘next level’ but we’ve seen in the past that whenever we do get a good team, the big boys come and take our prized assets and we’re back to square one. We also find it hard to hold onto our star men because the only reason they came was because the club was sold as a ‘stepping stone’ when they signed.

    2. The Premier League angers me due to the top 3/4’s domination. They own this league, they can dictate decisions, bully smaller clubs and get away with all kinds of stuff simply because they’re ‘big’. This takes the mick and I don’t see the attraction of the ‘making up numbers’ role that everyone outside the top 6 has to play. The typical ‘glory hunting’ fan of such teams do my head in and they like to think they have a moral high ground simply because they win, even though that’s the only reason they support the club, because they win. If I wanted to win every game, I’d support a team that does so. Put simply, the fans annoy me.

    3. The Championship is a damn entertaining league, more than the Prem in my view. Different top 6 every season; now ‘big’ clubs to bully the other teams/refs; different grounds to visit; anyone can beat anyone and it could be quite nostalgic actually.

    4. If we do go down, there’s a greater chance that younger players will be given a chance (ie Callum McManaman) as their standard will be closer to Champ than Prem. There’s nothing better than seeing a local lad playing for the first team in my view, as long as he isn’t totally sh1te. Also, a promotion may mean a greater push the year after in the Prem due to keeping our high team spirit/morale (much like 05/06) which could allow us to move to the ‘next level’. Sometimes you have to go back to go forwards ;)

    Just my views of course.
stop making excuses for relegation like it is a good thing

Fair comment Fil but to be honest we have had that all the 40 odd yrs ive been a supporter. Every club from Crewe to Rochdale have lorded over us at some stage and we have always had to put up with the drivel “rugby town, no fans were bigger than you ” rubbish. But the magical part of being a Tic is that one by one we have picked them all off and left them in our wake. We have gone from beating Chester to Chelsea, Aldershot to Arsenal and Preston. So if someone is giving me the Billy Bigboots gumf i simply ask them to match the success ive enjoyed and seen as a Wigan Athletic supporter, soon shuts them up.

good post Nuneaton (did you know a lad from Nuneaton called mark with a lazy eye he told me back in the day his neighbor was a big Latics fan, was that you?). what you said at the end reminds me of the tortoise and the hare story
