LD – most clubs in League 1 have 6 loan players. We want to be a Club where top teams send their
best young talent to be developed. Balance between youth and experience. Had success with
loans last season and that has enabled the club to attract players this year. We want Wigan to be a
hot bed location for young players to develop.So from the above extract mean we will be a hot bed location for other top teams young players to develop.. and not our own .. ?? In which case we become a company that offers a service in return for £££ to coach and develop other teams players, and the end of being a football club ..
Ive just watched his post match interview, I could have predicted it.. “Thats on me” blah blah blah, it really sounds like the players just arent listening to him, not following instructions, surely this is a sign they have lost their faith in him, and once it gets to that point…
Also, all the way through the interview, he is constantly scratching his head, his face, his eyes
… looks like a nervous wreck and has absolutely ran out of ideas, unfortunately its just not working, he has to go, enough chances now.If the lads lacked belief, and this has been the issue all along then hopefully last night will have shown them they do have the ability, they can work as a team, they can work the ball fast from back to front, and look what happens .. Please Maloney no more tinkering, stick with a style and let the lads play attacking football – interesting to see Matt Smith assist from an advanced position – he is wasted protected the mid, he has that killer pass forwards in him, Maloney needs to recognize that and let play him more advanced, but will he ..
I really hope we go forwards from here, its amazing what a good win like that can do to confidence, key as others have said is consistency, both in style of play, and personnel, brilliant win !
WEP headlines tonight are about Wigan Rugby handing out massive 6yr contract to one of their upcoming stars, meanwhile we lose Jones as we cant afford to keep him and he goes to a lower league club who can. One club mentality my arse, its clear where his interest and cash goes.
Saw that, they also quoted later on “who share the stadium with League One Wigan Athletic” – really any need to specify the division we are in other than to belittle us ? why not just say “who share the stadium with Wigan Athletic” ? I know it sounds picky, but it just adds to the frustration of a seemingly not care about the football club owner and only in it for the rugby glory.
