Luck evens out and it did today lady luck came and saved Cooks bacon. Not that he is under any pressure from our ghost board.
Not good enough to play in easily the worst side in the division but good enough to sign for the biggest clubs in the land. Sums Cook up perfectly.I said at the beginning of the season that relegation was nailed on and was hounded. Well this is the kind of things that made me think that way.Goal shy strikers and a weak defence will only send a club in one direction but……….if we go down this time i really fear for the clubs future. These are really dire times.Could help your and many other fans anxiety if Royle could at least stand up and reassure everyone that the club are in safe hands and the present predicament is just a blimp. The longer the silence the more the worry.
Now that everyone has calmed down and had time to think seriously about the game without “a cook out” head on, how the fuck did we lose that. ?
Missed penalty, Byrne’s one on one break away miss, a second nailed on penalty and a rake of other half chances against basically one glancing header that could have gone anywhere.
I think Forest only got out their own half 3 or 4 times in the second half.
So losing that game was all down to Paul Cook eh?
I want him out, but FFS, that was a fekin awesome performance that was all about the fine margins Cook has bleated on about all season.
It left me feeling gutted for Cook the players and fans that get behind them week in week out.Like many things it’s a results based industry.
If a sales person doesn’t reach their target then it could be bye bye. If they do the goalposts are widened.
If factory workers don’t reach targets or production fails it’s tough luck, no bonus or no job.
In football there’s nothing for nearly winning or almost winning and Cooky keeps reaching this position and has been lucky so far his employers have given him the benefit. Many of the fans have been tolerant too but now can just see the dropped points week in week out no matter how close we go to getting the wins that count. They were the two they played up top. Didn’t do much against Kal and Kipre.
Cook reckons he’s not ready, he should bob in the Forest changing room and ask their players was he a handful for the short time he was on the pitch. As for Windass ?, please for the sake of the club do not take anymore penalties in a Latics shirt, u are sh1t at them.
A message for Cook, please fcuk off elsewhere your clearly not up for the Championship. You are basically hindering are chances of staying in the Championship.
We have one fit forward, have you never heard “If your good enough age doesn’t matter”. I can’t imagine any other club struggling for goals and with injuries not using the lad abit more. Game changer player not given a chance to prove himself. When will the ghost owners man up and get rid ?. Grow some balls, man up and sack him before we take the drop cause we will unless he goes
Cook must have thought Gary Roberts was going to be a game changer. That says enough with Joffy and Big Joe warming the bench. What an absolutely idiotic substitution.
Playing well FFS. Part of the playing well is scoring goals or at least putting shots on target which could help if we actually started with a striker on the field or bring him on before the eighty odd minute mark.
Heres my theory on Cook…..HE IS A FUCKING FRAUD.
I don’t know Vatty lad but 12 wins from the last 63 games isn’t too bad considering it is such an unforgiving league.
Playing like he was he would be ideal with that work rate to give the lone striker much needed support in the centre attacking midfield role.
Still need a vast improvement from Lowe on the right and from whoever plays on the left. The attacking midfield positions have been really unimpressive all season but to be fair there have been so many variations it’s hardly surprising the whole front four have not yet gelled.I for one dont think Lowe is sh1te. IMO he is another of our players who has found the step up from league 1 to the championship harder than he perhaps thought. But I do agree. He would be better suited to a wing.My front 4 would be:
Moore (or Garner)
Windass behind
Lowe & Pilkington on the wings.
Agree and when the subs were made on Thursday we had a chance of doing that. Windass was running rings around the Derby defence and should have been moved back in support of Garner. But oh no, we can’t do that. But watch out Sunday the mighty Massey will be back.
Why would they sign Lowe for that, hes shiteAgree he is shite but we never see him as a winger. He may be ok in his correct position. Somehow I can’t see it though. No better than Massey and that doesn’t say much really.
Runcorn and garswoods theories sound more credible than vats “in the know” stuff
I only say what I’ve been told, Stuart lad.
I’ve been told again today, Joffys been sold to Liverpool. And Moore has been having transfer talks with a club.
Not sure about the Moore thing. Isnt there some rule about a player only beihg able to play for two clubs within 12 months? Or does that not apply now? In which case he has already played for Barnsley and Wigan.
Who knows? But thats what Ive been told.[/quote]
I could see Cardiff coming in for Moore but many clubs are looking for a proven goalscorer. Maybe damp squid Jamal Lowe could join him. Could be a good double signing for an ambitious club who need a goalscoring winger to supply a proven striker.Well Cooks the man for League One. Well he was last side when he inherited a decent squad for that league. May not be quite as easy next time.
Some of the Callaway equipment could fit that bill.
There is of course the theory that as the owners are running a betting company there may be very good odds on offer in-play for a draw or loss from a winning position.
Not my theory of course …….What odds would there have been on an injury time Derby equaliser from an own goal. There could be something in that theory.
He’s not going anywhere, trust me. Point from safety, playing well, unbeaten in 4. Someone offers Dunkley for Jacobs on a corner I don’t see problem. Morsy lost his man. It’s concentration of players not Cook that we can’t hold lead. Desperately need a decent striker to finish chances created and we will be fine.A striker came on and finished his chance very well. He should be starting and Windass playing in midfield after all he isn’t a striker. Pilks Lowe and Cracker could all be dropped to make way for Windass. He would be ideal to back up and support the sad and lonely striker.
