Can’t recall his hair colour but it was after the 3rd flare was let off so assume it must have been related to that.

All i do know is that there was some bloke behind me who lost it, screaming and swearing, kicking the chair, busting a blood vessel all in the direction of the stewards. All very adult like behaviour!

What I can’t understand, if he was so upset, why didn’t he just go down and join in? I’d say he was a coward and bully but he was bigger than me so I won’t say that.

Not a very edifing image from a grown man (late 20’s early 30’s).

      get a bloody life.

that would not be good, he should be first pick but i did think it would be a stretch to see him in the gym and then play. the fact that he was in the gym late friday afternoon suggests it was part of his rehab programme rather than being ready for the next day.

Ramis can’t be far away, he was in the gym at the wrightington on Friday late afternoon before the bournemouth game working on the cross trainer

I suppose it was too much to ask them to actually buy him rather than loan him!

I wonder if DW has factored in the lost revenue at the Wrightington Hotel now Mr Holt is no longer in residence?

i voted “yes” – we should encourage all Wigan fans to vote.

Never saw this one coming! I really thought we were stuck with him for the duration, who the hell would pay his wages even on a loan deal? Never in my wildest dream did i think there was a numpty out there – I failed to connect that Lambert has experience with him and he is desperate enough.

Let’s just keep our fingers crossed that this happens!

I can’t argue with the Newcastle game as being up there but the emotions felt that night when we battered manure were up there with the FA cup wij – by the time we played Newcastle i had already seen us beat Liverpool, ManU and Arsenal and I suppose I expected us to beat Newcastle – maybe not as well as we did.

yes, HMRC and staff would take priority in that order but other creditors would fall below the loan note holders priority.
i haven’t looked at the accounts but would expect the asset value of the ground (if it is actually owned by BWAFC) should realise sufficient to pay off thos libiabilties and then the rest would go to the loan note holder. Once that debt is satisfied (not likley) the rest of the estate would be paid out to the remaining creditors in proportion to their debt.

I agree – I was forcing myself to go to the games and watch the crap that Coyle served up – now the buzz is back (though Birmingham was not great).

I will always love the Spanish Guy and no matter what he will always be a legend – The end of the penultimate season was the best football I have ever seen (especially the Man U game) from Latics and what Martinez was about – yes he failed to keep us up because we did not have the depth of squad that could overcome the loss of Alcaraz and Ramis – but the FA Cup was just out of this world and beyond 99% of our supports expectations.

I mourned his loss because I could see how Coyle dismantled all the hard work from the last 4 years.

We all knew Bobby would leave and 4 years was more than i expected and showed he really does care about Wigan.

I am rejuvinated by Uwe and believe he will be excellent for us – but I bet you now, he will not be with us for more than 3 years – If he succeeds and gets us into the premier league then we will be lucky to get more than 1 year more from him before one of the bigger clubs comes in for him.

In the meantime – lets just enjoy it.

The reality of it is that the debt to the owner is worthless. DW was in the same position (to a lesser extent) and converted his loans into equity – which was effectively saying “it’s worthless anyway.” In accounting terms there are some advantages to having it is a shareholder loan rather then equuity so that is probably why – when fair play comes in then he will probably convert it into equity. The biggest advantage is that as a “loan note” holder he will have preferential rights and will be the largest debtor. So if for some reason it went into liqudation he would get the vast majority of the proceeds of the sale of any assets – whereas an equity owner would only get anything that was left after all other debtors have been paid.

a company is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it – and that will only be assessed on future profitability and cash flow – not historic. So any debts in way of loan notes will be not valude in a sale.

there would be absolutely no advantage in calling in the debt as it would be shooting yourself in the foot.

Uwe commented that we paid a heavy price (injuries) at Reading – he withdrew Powell and McManaman at half time – we also know Ben Watson was injured.

He made the comment that he bought Gomez on to try and control the pace of the game but in referring to a heavy price surely he didn’t just mean Ben Watson.

I think Powell and Macca are injured and he has bought Dicko back as cover.

I’m pretty sure he thought Coyle could do the job and at a lower cost than the others but he made a serious error of judgement.

Much as I have a lot of time for Whelan – I blame him for where we are today – he appointed Coyle.

I for one was very sceptical but remained silent hoping that he would succeed and indeed some of his signings looked to be promising – but the benefit of doubt was withdrawn when I watch (on TV i might add) the charity shield match and was thoroughly depressed after watching his tactics.

I am a Bobby’s boy through and through and I was further depressed as i watched him dsimantle everything that had been built up over the last 4 years.

I am genuinely excited by the new Manager and hopefully I will be a Uwe devotee by the end of the year. I just hope it’s not too late to repair the damage.

Yes he wants promotion but he also wants not to have to fund it from his own pocket in the future so he needs to cut costs – I dont thik it will become threadbare but i expect it to be smaller as we don’t have europe.

history says he does not spend money (even if we can afford it) when he doesn’t need to.

returning to the desire for promotion – then why did he appoint Coyle? likley as not he was cheaper than McLaren and he wasn’t prepared to pay compo to Brighton for Poyet.

Why? Because I am sure Mr Whelan will not want to spend any more money than he needs to and he can cash in on some of the players.

realistically, can we justify Al Habsi and Carson? Lee Nicholls is more than a capable no 2.

For the record, I would rather we keep Al Habsi but I cant see that we will continue with both keepers.
