According to my very good friend Des Grant, he was the first black player to play for Wigan ! He told me that last Saturday when I asked him if he wanted our Jeff’s ticket ( Massive hangover !) for the Leeds game !

        Tonight’s team;

        Members of last year’s squad;
        Boyce Beausejour Maloney (McArthur – 45′)

        Brought in by Coyle;
        Carson Barnett McClean (Fortuné – 45′) and on loan (Powell – 63′)

        Brought in by Rosler;
        McEachran (3/3 appearances) Waghorn (10) Collison (2/3) Maynard (9/3) plus Kiernan (4/4)(who played for Rosler at Brentford)

        The players didn’t know each other – there were five recent arrivals in the starting line up!

        Do you work for OPTA ?

          Been there a few times, but usually go to Ashton Town, Ashton Athletic, St Helens Town (at Ashton) or Robin Park, but they were all away.

          There’s also Prescot (Prescot Cables and AFC Liverpool), Skem, Warrington and Burscough. Loads of options.

          Are Chorley not currently the highest ranked out of your aforementioned and top of their division ?
Ah, then he would be accused of glory hunting.
But that is how teams attract new fans or neutrals ! I am pretty sure that Chorley will be getting more on at home games now than if they were say mid table !
How many of the 849 at the game yesterday do you think were glory hunters?
And how many stayed right until the end and how many knobbed off with about ten minutes to go?
On the thread subject, you appear to have omitted my factual reply regarding average attendances at Chorley ! Totally off subject, try and concentrate on what is happening on the pitch Griff rather than getting yourself all worked up by what other fans are doing ! :S
Not remotely worked up, I just have a low tolerance for certain classes of people. Besides which, I am very adept at multi-tasking so, if I chose to, I could quite easily concentrate on both the match and getting “worked up” at other fans simultaneously.
What class are people who leave a football match early?

              I have sat back and read all the replies to this thread and from what I can gather the ES2 lot are NOT going to change their words and so I say oh so politely, get over it ! When folk start to get too analytical at a football match then in my opinion perhaps they need to join a book club or something. Why would you concern yourself over what a bunch of our fans are singing as long as it isn’t offensive? As for bringing education into it! Not everyone likes to watch Woody Allen films, some prefer The Carry On films! I myself am a big fan of black and white Polish and French films with subtitles but that’s how I roll, but come match days we are all one and our differences are put aside as we get behind our team vocally.

                Bottom Four Bob has closed the gap between Everton and Arsenal with this convincing victory.

                Everton are now just one point behind Arsenal but with a game in hand and a superior goal difference.

                How long before Top Four Bob?

                Next week I would have thought !

                  Will miss the semi-final – picked up his 10th booking of the season, so is banned.

                  Bad news that, I was relying on him for an own goal late on ! :)

                    About 437 going off their average attendance from the last 10 seasons which is 412 ! ;)

                          Bugger! With a 12.15 ko for us I was looking for a non-league game to go to!

                          Surely Chorley would have been the first place that you looked ! :dry:

                            Uwe has managed 2 points on average since taking over so we would be 3rd on 78 points (one behind Burnley).

                            & with burnley yet to play us, that would have been a cracking winner takes all game.
Should that not be and we have to play them ! B)

                              I just thought that we should have carried on pushing at 2-1 as they were well on the ropes and I felt that taking Powell off ( For obvious reasons of shutting up shop ) was maybe a mistake and the Gomez substitution although backing up the shutting up shop theory was also puzzling! I have sort of contradicted myself there but what I am saying is, we could have got another if we had just kept on pressing !

                                Oh & for me, between mcarthur & gomez for MOM. Kiernan had a solid game too IMO.

                                Personally I thought Perch had a cracking game !

                                  Would you take a draw right now? I personally think that Uwe will go for it and this will make for a most entertaining game ! If we can beat them it will send out a warning to the next 3 sides due at the DW that we are nigh on invincible at home ! :)

                                  My prediction 2-2

                                  Great prediction.

                                  Hope you had a few quid on it.

                                  What a cracking match that was.

                                  Arguably the league performance of the season.

                                  I would have settled for a point beforehand but having led twice you can’t help but feel a little disappointed.
Don’t bet on correct scores anymore ! I can’t help feeling slightly annoyed with Crainey for giving away that needless free kick in such a dangerous position ! We looked dead on our feet in those last minutes ! Oh and Fortune is pants ! :unsure:
