If we go straight back up we will still be one of the favourites to go straight back down again but we may have learned valuable things from our 8 season stint ! Only time will tell on that front but for now the feelgood factor is riding high within the club ! If we go up one season and straight back down the following season then at least we will be as happy as Larry ( Foley ) every other season which has got to be better than struggling every season in the top flight and getting by on the odd shock win over one of the ‘joy boy’ outfits !
No matter what your views are of the last Latics manager, the Chairman, the team or the club in general there is no doubt this has been a fantastic time to be a Latics fan.Yes, there are bigger clubs to support, and there are easier clubs to support, but not every clubs fans have been there whilst their clubs have re written the history books.
If you stop and think for a few minutes what our club has achieved in our recent history it is unbelievable.
How many fans of small provincial town clubs have seen their team play at Wembley on 8 occasions, not counting Cardiff which would have been at Wembley, seen numerous promotions and eight years of top flight football, its astounding.
And as galacTIC says there is every chance of even more to come. I am so glad my Dad and his Dad before chose Latics for me as my club, I feel so privileged to have been associated with Wigan Athletic and watched history being made on so many occasions.
Long may it continue.

The naked eye cannot always determine whether someone is offside or not in real time and so therefore the use of cameras and hindsight by pundits usually settles any arguments, but that is always too late ! I think that each manager should be allowed 3 ‘Calls’ like the tennis in the event of a suspected offside situation, this would probably add an extra 60 secs ( If that ) for each ‘Call’! How many times do games get delayed when players round on the ref due to what they believe to be a bad call from an official !
If we take nothing else out of the game, I’ll take these two positives:-
1, James McLean’s debut performance was very promising.
2, Grant Holt going toe-to-toe with Vidic.

I’d snap somebody’s hands off if they offered £10m for McCarthy. I haven’t been impressed with him for a long time. He just doesn’t create anything, he has no positive thinking in him. He focuses far too much of retaining possession than actually doing something with the ball.
Ever since he had the injury 2 or 3 years back he has looked poor for me. I rate McArthur much higher.
If we sold him I would personally change the front 6 to:
Holt
McClean-Maloney-McManaman
Watson-McArthur

Do you not think I spend enough time away from home with my live music hobby ! We do go to a couple each season and this season that figure could be increased somewhat due to the ‘B’ Derbies ! :)
