Get a bid in for Beckford, he has proved he can net in that league and he is only on loan at Nob End!
“The style of football we have played in these last four games is a pointer to the future”
This quote from the master fryer has made me sit up and take notice! Not being funny but I ain’t spunking another 300 and odd quid on a season ticket if they are going to revert to the mind numbing style that Martinez had us sit through with fuck all to show for it ( FA Cup tactics were completely different! )Can you imagine that style of play in League One!
Just opened a bottle of Lupo Brindisi Reserva to commiserate our decline. Fuckin Cheers !I’m gonna hit the Buckfast I think! :)
Hope that Brentford beat us and pip Derby to the final play off slot; cos they deserve it and it’ll squash the “we should have had McLaren brigade”.I bet we wouldn’t be in this fuckin mess if McClaren had been employed by the doddering old fool! ;)
She is singing at the top of her voice now !
If he is as tactless and self absorbing as his Granddad then he is best keeping a low profile!
If he has netted 4 times in 16 games then pro rata Riera’s goal tally would have been 11 goals with a game to play, I reckon that could have made all the difference! He wouldn’t have faced defences like Barcelona, Real Madrid et al either so his ratio could have been higher! Complete major fuck-up from top to bottom at the club if you ask me !
His ratio here is 1 in 13. That means he would have scored 3, maybe 4. Probably wouldn’t have made the blindest bit of difference nor would Delorts stunning 0 in 11.
It’s all down to how you use him. For Deportiva he plays in a 4-4-2 formation whilst while he was here he was predominantly used as a lone striker! It’s all about tweaking and fine tuning with players and formations and in my opinion Riera wasn’t given the right conditions to bring out the best in him! I still find it quite strange how some fans call players who were not given enough time to prove themselves yet support players who have had more than enough chances yet have proved to be completely ineffective when it comes to scoring goals!
All ifs and buts but I am pretty sure that our first 2 choices will be gone sharpish should we drop and let’s face it it’s very likely ! So Bigroy might have been told ” If we go down ” Makes sense to me George!

Grant Holt hasn’t put a foot wrong. He has been superb. His performace at Burton Albion as sub is a stand out moment this season.
Joking apart anywhere but here under our shite management tactics he would have had 20 goals last and this season. From the brief spell that I saw him he would have been lucky to bag a brace! He didn’t win one single header when I saw him let alone cause havoc in the box ! Bad signing in my view!
Can I suggest that you try and sell your ticket before Wednesday morning!
Keep the faith Donny; remember all those Jimmy Bibby types who ridiculed us for following Gordon Milne’s blue and white boys. How remarkable have we been since those days, constantly kicking dirt in their face. CMON the TICS
…….. Today in a game we had to win at all cost we started with no natural attackers. …….
Ste, I’m sure if we had any (who were fit and available), they’d have started the game.
Apart from the bench do we not have a couple out on loan somewhere? Being bereft of a regular striker or two has certainly aided our demise to the lower leagues ! You can plead austerity measures all you want but we have had strikers and chose not to use them! Even to the football outsider it ain’t rocket science !
Love the broken record saved in the favourites of some on here, who love to post it after certain comments………………..Then spout the same stuff they’ve always spouted themselves!
TAXI for the broken record please. We all know bad management has resulted in where we are and the reluctance to pair a striker with Fortune, if we played a forward at all.
Do you not consider McClean to be a striker then?
Coyle, Rosler, Mackay and now Caldwell have all seemingly preferred McClean and Fortune to be their first choice strike force.
Bad management has resulted in where we are now because in the case of Rosler he was allowed pay good money for strikers who were no better and in my opinion worse than what was already here and after initially starting with them was reluctant to continue. Mackay was just a disastrous appointment on every level but again he also didn’t consider anyone else to be a better option than McClean and Fortune.
But of course you watching a game once a fortnight do know better.
No I don’t consider McClean to be a striker
Quoting failed managers as being correct in the selections that haven’t worked, is bemusing to say the least.
The strikers/players we’ve let go were the only hope we ever had of staying up. They certainly weren’t a worse option than the road all of our failed managers chose to go down.Mackay was a disatrous appointment as you say so why would you make him right in selecting the 2 players you quote as our best option?
We have had so many other options than the one several chose, stuck with and in the end saw us down. Why people persist in saying that’s all there was because these failures stuck with it is a bonkers point of view.
It’s called ‘Blind Faith’ and anyone who dares to speak up against the dross that we have been served up gets berated! I will be doing some serious consideration before spunking my winnings on another season ticket! So far, it looks very bad from where I am sat!
Right, we have been given a second chance, Millwall being our first so let’s not fuck this one up eh!
I would imagine most forums of sides who have also underachieved will be equally as negative as ours! Fans will always point out what they think is right or wrong, that is what forums are for is it not? Opining! As for the nobbing off back to whence they came, most of the dullards as you call them/us? have been following Wigan a hell of a long time and with no prior big club on their résumé! Oh, and if McClean is a forward/striker then I am the reincarnation of Jimi Hendrix!
