Walking to my seat in the away stand stand at Fleetwood and Jayt shouting over aw reet John!
On a serious note everything about the Fleetwood game, weather, chippy on corner, the result, Massey’s wonder goal Superman’s Flossy dance, the celebrations after etc. etc.Yeah, you were lucky …… it was mighty difficult being dressed in red and cursing like hell when Massey scored goal of the season. It got harder and harder as more goals went in.
In the last 2 weeks I seen at least 3, possibly 4, really really good videos made by the Club. 1. Will Grigg. 2. ‘A thousand journeys’. 3. A great account of the Doncaster day 4. Another ‘thousand journeys’, so now I can remember all those there may even be 5.
I guess they’ll be on You Tube and the Club website. I think Nick Taylor is the driving force behind them, but there is clearly a very good guy who does filming / editing.
You forgot:
PERKS.
Anyway, I don’t want to be known as the ‘Latics’, or ‘the ‘tics’. I want to be known as ‘The WIGS’.
It’ll all be announced at the The Promotion Party in the Park. That is Sharpies and Whelan’s final farewell (and maybe Cooks). It’s a party they are throwing to say ‘thanks’ and ‘good-bye’. No other club has ever done anything quite like a party in the park just because they got promoted.
That’s what I reckon, anyway.
M o M ……
…….. Their ‘keeper. There is a spare ticket on the Supporters Club coach, as a fellas fighter was too I’ll to travel. So 8f you can get down there I am sure we can hook you upJason … you are a blinkin’ star. Always there to try to help. (BTW it’s not me).
Excellent report ….. get a job with the BBC. Thanks. Dunno why the police had to send the whole of the on duty crowd to Wigan that day, plus horses. Surprised there wasn’t a helicopter and dogs.
Jolly good report! Nicely and well written, dare I say it, coming from the ‘oppo’. I know I wouldn’t have been as impartial!!
Rochdale are my most favourite team ………. EVER ….. this evening!
Let’s not get complacent, a long way to go yet, and last time we beat Man city we got relegated.
But today was fine. No rain, some sun, some laughs in ES7, 3 birthday present goals for my brother whose birthday it was today, good beer ……… what’s not to like??
Action replay on Monday please.
Horc ….. thank you for organising it. It was good. I do know for a fact that if the weather hadn’t been so inclement there would have been another 667 people. Like Wigan …. I was robbed. Good one … well done.
Cheers mate. You have a point about the weather though, it must have put some off, it was bloody freezing.
I reckon we should try to get more of this type of thing going on here, it makes a nice change from the moaning and bitching that usually goes on.
Totally agree. However, if you want to see moaning and bitching and very quick ‘off-topic-ing’ with personal digs …… go to ‘Vital’!!

I’d go for
Lay Lady Lay – Bob Dylan
Marianne – Leonard Cohen
Boris the Spider – The Who
Anything from ‘Wheels of Fire’ – The Cream.
Show me the Way to Amarillo – Tony ChristieI’ll second ‘Glad All Over’, suggested by Nuneaton.
Blinkin’ good game; Wigan played really well, no shame in the performance, from anyone, but a bit of a disappointment the run has come to an end, but we’ve got more to concentrate on, so really not all that disappointed!!
The actual powers that be don’t want little Wigan in the last four, not when it boils down to it. They’ll be quite happy with who they have got in the semis. I reckon a Chelsea v Spurs final, a replay of the 69/70 final.
Imagine if a Latics v Rochdale Semi had happened. The F.A. wouldve been balking.
Southampton WERE better, but we gave them a really good game. Had we took a chance in the few we had in the first half, I think we could’ve won. That said, they scored two, Walton did that world class penalty save, and also pulled off a couple of other great saves….They should’ve scored when Byrne passed straight to their player in our area…I was sure they’d score. What a save. So we could easily have lost 4 nil.
We lost but with our heads held high. We move on now and every game we play now is a cup final.
The Chelsea v Spurs final, was 66/67. The 69/70 final was Chelsea v Leeds, the finest example of the ‘beautiful game’.
Oh and BTW, the best team always wins.
Haven’t I heard the revered Mr Morinhio say, on more than a few occasions “The best team lost”?!!! Must be right.
Anyway, we were brill. It was a great game of football and the Wigan team put a bloody good shift in. I’ve enjoyed this ‘Cup’ rnu. Well done and thanks. What a fantastic penalty save.
Southampton could very well go all the way and win the thing
…. and get relegated.
That could never happen surely?
I love the quick wit and repartee on this forum! hahaha. Good one!
It’s a strange feeling. Usually I’m either totally for a win or not bothered about the result, depending on the opposition.
I don’t think I am the only person who wondered why i put money on us to beat Man City, and if we were 4 down at half time that’d respectable!! I was going for the ‘fun’.
Since we beat Citeh and Bradford, I’m kinda really excited about Sunday, and hoping for a good win, but knowing that promotion is so important as well. I guess I’m feeling – a win will be great, bring it on, but if we lose, which we wont, it’s been a great journey again. Isn’t the old cliche win win win. So in conclusion I dunno, anything will be good, and somethings will be better than others.
