Jones has his strengths and he has his weaknesses, but one thing is for sure – he is a 100% trier unlike someAlbert Crusat or as I heard him called v Sunderland ‘that mon plays more like Albert Tatlock’ – cant way him up at all

Well if he was any good do you not think Blackburn would have kept him or called him back???? Anyway since when has doing well in the Championship been a guarantee of success in the Premiership???
We as a club should know that better than most,
The same could have been said of Koumas, De Ridder, Kapo, Scotland, Amaya, Won Chee Hoo-ever he is and Bouaouzan but with the exception of Amaya and Scotland who were sold all the others contracts just ran down despite never getting a sniff, But they did in the cups. So he has done it before.The current squad now, Kirkland, Lopez, Thomas, McArthur, and countless other current regular first teamers are no good either but i bet the bad ones will all play. Not sure of Glass Back’s injury situation but i can guarantee the other 3 will start. Bad players and bad Martinez signings. Bruce got the ball rolling with Thomas but Martinez could have stopped that deal when he arrived, And should have as he is the worst midfielder i have ever seen in any league.

I don’t post on hear as much as I used to but I have been reading many things on this board and it looks like the darkside (as they were called) are not as vocal as they used to be.The way I see it is that we are playing some really good stuff…absolutely excellent at times but we still have two major problems that are preventing us from getting the points we deserve from the games we play. (1) nobody can seem to hit the ball into the back of the net…we seem to have more luck hitting the post (Would be interesting to see which premiership side has hit the post/bar the most this season…I bet it is us!!) and (2) Defenders not being able to understand their positioning and to get rid of the ball when in danger.
I have to say, like him or not, we don’t seem the same at the back without Caldwell. I do like this 5 at the back when we haven’t got the ball, it seems more balanced…but it only works when both Caldwell and Alcaraz is on the pitch. I do agree with most on hear we need another central defender…maybe a veteran (Hencoz/DeZeew type) then puch Figgs out where Jones is….but that’s my opinion!
I would like to see Bobby try and get a good central defender….
Good post Jimmy, a good centre half and a striker who had an idea where the net was and happy days.
