I’ve seen him quite a few times on the telly and have always been impressed with him. If we pay £4 million up front I think he would be a good signing and he certainly knows were the net is. I would look forward to Whelan having to cough up the next £2 million when he gets 20 Premier League goals.

Yes, Hindley – still, after all this time, we haven’t scored a goal from open play this season.
You are one, miserable, negative f*****
I always try and keep my posts about the football and try never to make the posts personal. Everyone has an opinion and is this not the place to voice your opinion? I don’t boo the team and support them for the 90 minutes of every game.
He’s right though.
No-one is saying you can’t post your opinions, but they are almost invariably negative and moaning.
We have been in the promised land for 7 seasons and perhaps foolishly I thought we would be quite established by now. And by that I don’t think Europe or even top 10 but perhaps not just avoiding relegation every year. I know small crowds :teasing-blah: :teasing-blah: but we should be in a better position than every team coming up. And we sell our best players as soon as an offer comes in and in most cases don’t replace them.
Even if that is right way to run my football club it still fooks me off and gets me frustrated.

There is no doubt that Gomez has failed to set the Premier League alight but to call him a complete waste of wages shows Hindley up for what he really is – not worth bothering about. Not worth bothering with but you do
Two games unbeaten, a penalty away from 4 points, 1 point more than Arsenal. Bl00dy rubbish Wigan
lowey make no mistake we will be fighting for our Premier League lives again this year. So forgive me for not getting over excited about 2 points from 2 of the poorest teams in the league. Anything but a win from next Saturday and we have had a shoite start.
Oh and Arsenal :angry-banghead: :angry-banghead: :angry-banghead:
Hindley please tell me WHY you support the latics, when after only two games you are on a downer
They are my team and I have supported them for 35 years through thick and thin. I just refuse to admit that 2 draws against Norwich and Swansea is a good start to the season. They are 2 of the poorest teams in the league and we could not beat either and have still not scored a goal in open play.

Thirty on numerous occasions you have rubbished people who have quoted the press or other media sources. Funny how when it suits you use the media as back up to your opinion.
Anyway back to the subject Gomez, has shown nothing in two seasons to suggest he will ever make a Premier League player. Cannot understand why he is still at the club an absolute waste of a wage and a shirt.
hits the bar and wins us a penalty………….. thats him in the team for next three matches then !!
HHHHMMMMMM Watson hit post last week, had penalty saved this week lets drop him
If Bob thinks that Gomez is good enough to play we really are fooked and Bob needs his eyes testing.
West Brom want 8 million for him so I read today
I suspect we could sign the 1970 Brazil world cup winning teams and the c*nts who claim to be supporters would find excuses not to come.
We have a low fan base, which has substantially increased in the last 10 years, it will take a generation to make the next step.
I agree with that, it will take time to build the fan base but IMO the club does not always help its self.
And losing out on 9.5 million plus seasons wages for the sake of an extra 1000 season tickets at 250 each is helping itself?
Stop talking bad language
Listen you tool selling all our best players and struggling to win football matches is going to have an effect on our crowds. It’s not just Charlie the list goes on and people have got sick of it, hence our crowds dropping.
Yes ,the same Bobby who was lambasted on here for making substitutions with five minutes to go last season any how the first person who should have been hauled off saturday was Mccarthy very poor performance in my opinionI heard he had a knock and wasn’t even being considered. IMO he never looked fit.
Lets not forget that was the 1st game for norwich in the top flight for quite a while, they came here buzzing, they gave their best it wont get any better for them, yet they did not trouble us too much, we will get better we have more experience and have better players to come bk in, Lopez will not make a premiership centre half in the memory of man, in my opinion, Alcaraz will sort the middle out. Rodders should of played in place of Gomez and Di Santo had his best game for us ever, give him a chance you never know.Di Santo did have a good game but he is not a goal scorer not my opinion but a fact. And in a team which struggles for goals he cannot play as the lone striker.
The window is not shut yet and we need to get someone in who knows were the net is.

Thanks go out to QPR for taking Blackpool’s position as the team with worse crowds than ours (though I bet the media will conveniently ignore it). I’m sure the ridiculous ticket prices and lousy Bolton following were a factor, but what struck me was, like at Wigan, there’s been an outbreak of overzealous netting which will prevent them from selling out even the bigger games. About ten rows of seats behind the School End Lower were needlessly sectioned off. Anyone know why?Probably on police advice I would suspect. Can’t see QPR netting off all those seats by choice as the ground only has a small capacity anyway.
