Oh Vat I’m gob smacked, looks like you have been turned to the Light side. You made two main points
1: Roberto is going nowhere is that until something better comes along??? ask Swansea.
2: Performances have improved yes granted but lets be honest it wasn’t hard was it.

Know matter what people say football is a result based industry and if Bob takes us down then he has failed and should be sacked which is what you and I have been saying for the best part of two seasons. So please can we have the real Vat back.

Waiting outside Anfield Road end for my mate who was sat in the Kop, I was amazed at how many foreigners I saw. Had a big group stood near me all giving it the ‘hurdy-gurdy’, I am assuming they were Scandinavians. And loads and loads of Irish and cockneys. Blokes with kids decked out in all the clobber….displaying the best Somerset accents going.
I saw a load of Germans as well, some with Erfurt scarves on and others as well. It’s bizarre. Almost like a football carnival.

I knew it was like this, but I was amazed at the extent of it. I ended up approaching the ground from behind the Kop end, walking up loads of derelict streets. There WAS a ‘throng’ of locals making their way up to the ground, but it really wasn’t anything different to ours, at the DW.

Maybe it explains why the atmosphere was so bad. How do they all sing in different languages?
Nipped in ‘The Park’ pub, behind the kop, for a urinal stop, and it was rammed with Irish.

I’d hate Latics to ever get like that, seriously. Nothing against the odd individual, but I’d say a large percentage are foreigners and day trippers, at Anfield.

        Why Vat????

If we could get 50,000 every week I don’t give a shoite were they come from :romance-grouphug:
You’d change your mind if it got like people I know who’ve watched Liverpool for years, and yet quite often have to fight tooth and nail for tickets, sometimes paying well over the odds…..

whilst people who fly or get the boat in, get tickets with ease. No thanks.
I know what your saying Vat but I would love it to be a struggle to get hold of Tics tickets. Would that not be better than giving tickets away for free?????

        IMO opinion definately.

Ok, who are you and what have you done with Hindley Blue? ;)

I will give praise were it’s due and to go and get a point at Liverpool the way they have been playing takes some doing.

              Really good performance.

Bit frustrating though that we’ve took 4 points from our last 2 games and it’s not done a lot for us, isn’t it?

Your right Vat but at last after nearly two seasons we are starting to show a bit of fight.

Landgate – I’m hardly likely to ditch a free, work-provided iPhone now, am I?

Plus, I access the site remotely through that fancy BB forum, so I’m not graphically friendly on the couch – and that’s not a euphemism either, Micky ;)
Work provided iPhones?….. a sign of impending doom.

I’m sure there’s an ‘app’ for the socially challenged – it would appear that ‘owners’ can now ‘tweet’, ‘face’, ‘myspace’, ‘follow’, ‘bebo’….. anyone who’s interested that they are actually ‘on the train’.

                I love technology………………..

…………………..it’s so ‘traceable’, and can easily steal your* life.

                * genericaly speaking that is.

Just think should leave him out to see how alcaraz and gohouri get on for next couple of games. Although they conceded 3 against Blackburn think Gohouri had a good game.

If Caldwell comes back it could be a :auto-crash:

                  Sorry

Agreed – Alcaraz and Gohouri had started to form quite a good partnership after 3-4 games into the early season and then it all went wrong once the Caldwell’s started popping up. Saturday hinted at that partnership being revived.
We haven’t had a consistent back four for two games on the trot all season I don’t think and shouldn’t change again on Saturday, esp. not for injury-prone Gary “the new Kirkland” Caldwell.
Problem we have is that Alcaraz and Gohouri both played Saturday and we conceded 3 against a very poor Blackburn side. But I have to say that neither of the Chuckle Brothers (Caldwells) IMO would play for the first team again cause they are both absolute gash.

So Alcaraz and Gohouri it is

We owe a great debt of gratitude to Dave Whelan because wether you love him or loath him without him we would not be watching Premier League football. I have no doubt he invested his own money in Latics how much I guess we will never know but fair play to the man.

As for his reasons for doing so, well it was either a labour of love or the sceptic in me thinks a business deal. Through Wigan Athletic he got hundreds of millions of pounds worth of advertising that a company the size of JJB’s could never have afforded. And even now with DW sports and the naming the stadium every time we are on T.V he gets great publicity.

So me thinks it was a mutually beneficial agreement which lets be honest has been one hell of a ride.

Hindley, this is one of those rare moments where we agree totally on something…

That’s exactly what Whelan has gained out of his association with Wigan Athletic – not money in his back pocket as Yosser naively believes.
Glad we agree on something Standish this may be the start of a long and happy friendship :angry-argument:

                    Or may be not eh

Criticizing somebody for their working shift pattern, because they haven’t been on an ‘opinions worth nothing’ messageboard, IS ridiculous.

                        What a desperate move.

It’s all gone ridiculous now, with the digs and jibes at people who basically see things for what they are, and don’t get carried away with daydreams of us staying up.

If that’s a crime, then Hindley and myself, are guilty as charged.

What’s the alternative? Should we post that we’ll now go on a winning run, and end up with 40 points? No. We don’t think that.

                        Opinions. They make a messageboard.

Cheers Vat I was starting to get a complex as we seem to be in a minority of two at the moment. With regards to opinions we are entitled to have one providing Griff, Standish, Thirtythree and Landgate agree.

Forgive me for being cynical, but I suspect you have only posted this in the likely event that he doesn’t play meaning that you can therefore use it as another Bobby-beating stick.

In the unlikely event that he does start and score the goals that keep us up, you will no doubt be taking the credit for it.

I hope you’re right, but for all the wrong reasons ;)

Not at all Griff when we sign a player of course I hope he does well. My feelings about the manager wont stop that.

All I will say is that I thought we perhaps could have got a striker with Premier League experience may be on loan to help us now.

With regards to my shift rota that has fook all to do with you. As I stated before I have a life which does not always allow me to spend all my time on Cockney Latic, sorry. Anyway when we win you don’t need me we have plenty of other deluded souls willing to dream the impossible dream.
