only found out saturday that the two new kits this season are for 1 year only . both are being change next season

they were both meant to be for at least 2 seasons
more money to rip off whelan

i hope you are right about that, maybe we will get a ‘proper’ manufacturer with a decent quality kit next season.
This seasons kit epitomises everything that is WAFC at the moment.

If Burnley had lost this match they would have dropped into non-league.
I think you should stop making a cant of yourself lad.

OUTCOME: You should be thanking Whelan for giving you Wigan Athletic to fill your obviously pathetic excistence with the ammunition to spend a large proportion of your day sat at your PC posting the same thread several time a day.

You’ve hit the nail on the head there, thats the problem with the people on here.
In case you can’t remember, or maybe you were still wearing your Liverpool top in the school playground, WIGAN ATHLETIC FC were in existence well before DW got his hands on them, and will be here for many years after him.

What are you banging on about at all?

What does the gate money, shirt sales etc etc blah blah blah.

It is part of the clubs turnover. You know, the turnover of which 89% is spent on wages

I might be wrong here, and I fully expect one of Whelans little lovers to correct me, but the above figure of 89% of turnover was for last season.
The wage bill must have been vastly reduced now with the sale or release of so many big name players.*
We have also made a profit approaching £30M in transfers this season alone, so I’m sure there must be a few coppers left in the bottom of Daves war chest.

*Palacios, Heskey,Mido, Zaki, Valencia, Cattermole, Sibierski, Camara, Taylor, Brown.
Even all the Whelan lovers must admit the wages of the above players must easily be more than their replacements.
How much less are we paying in wages to Bobby and his backroom staff as opposed to Bruce and his team.

I don’t particularly dislike Dave, and fully appreciate what he has done over the years, but I am starting to lose patience with him and am worried as to his future intentions toward us.

Benjani deal to Hull has fell through, he is in talks with several prem clubs apparently. Fingers crossed.

By all means cross your fingers, just don’t hold your breath, we’ve few enough fans as it is.

I was being ironic Horc ! I know you an lostock hall latic know em ! I knew you were being ironic yourself ! Did we not see ya at Sunderland last season but one ? Or on Leyland Motors when reserves played Bolton ? Or was that just Lostock ? Get yourself in Pagefield before next home game an we will be in there ! You can all reminisce to your hearts content !

Wasn’t at Sunderland, but was at the reserve game at Thurston Rd a couple of years back. We won 4-0, was that the same game?
We usually go in the Brick before matches, you lot should call in oh your way from the Pagefield.

I have faith and get behind the team on the stadium, do you? The place where it matters gets 100% off me each match, on here I give my views. I dont give them at a game, I support the team with about what, 25 other people. You may be one of those and if so I apologise, but if your one of those who sits silently through the game and gives the team or manager no support what so ever, you need to take a look at yourself. This isnt threatening, im being friendly, go for a pint before the next game if you like, then we can see how each other supports the team.

Glad to hear you are different at the match than you are on here, as your support, faith and backing of the lads on here is shocking at times.
I suppose it could be your way of showing your level of passion for the Latics.
I am off my seat more often than not myself, whether it is shouting encourgement to the lads, or shouting abuse at the ref or the opposition.
Everyone shows their support in different ways, we’ll just have live with it.

We might not have the perfect strikeforce at the moment, but could you imagine Neil Morton and Pat Gavin up against the likes of Ferdinand and Vidic.

VAT69, can you please elucidate to us all what a “Band wagoner” is ? I for one have never proclaimed to have been at Goole in 1980 or Frickley in whatever distant year gone by. I started going on about a third way through the season we came up from Championship. Now since my first game I have NEVER missed an home game. Am I a “Band wagoner” or a relatively new fan. A fcukin good one at that !

I have known Jeff, Lee and Staby for years, how are they doing?

I have been going to watch Wigan with my Dad for 30 plus years and can’t understand why people on hear have ago at our new fans.

Would we want our crowds back to 1200? I think not. We need to attract more fans as to be quite honest our crowds at times are enbarrassing.

So that means more glory hunters although supporting Wigan does not bring much glory. I would rather have new Wigan Athletic fans than watch the muppets walk round Wigan with there United, Liverpool and now City shirts.

Come on the people of Wigan we need your support at the DW.

I reckon if we made a bid of £5m, we’d get him.

He’s not worth £5M on current form.

Been at work today, so I haven’t seen anything of it. On paper the result is terrific and the pundits on SSN and The BBC have said good things about us. Looking forward to Tuesday even more now.

I love Saturday evenings after a win like this.
Indian, bottle of red, beer, nibbles, MoTD and a right good f**K to end the night.

Alright alright before you all have a go, I might be asking a bit too much, I suppose I could give the nibbles a miss.

You didnt see any of the match, thats interesting. You were looking forward to Tuesday even more, did you enjoy it? Reckon its an Indian Sunday night, or a donna kebab after drowning sorrows all night? [/quote]

You’re waffling on a bit bobby, but I think I get the gist of what you mean.

I didn’t enjoy either the Wolves or the Utd match too much, niether did I enjoy the Blackpool match. However there were encouraging signs in each match. Well perhaps not in the Blackpool match.

I’ ll be having my ‘red skin’ and a few drinks tonight as I’m working tomorrow night so I won’t be able to celebrate or commiserate unfortunately

Three defeats in a week isn’t good, the manner of the defeats was also a bit disappointing. That said, we are still only two games into a new season, with a new manager, a new team, and a new way of playing. All we ask is, have a little faith and get behind your team instead of all the tiresome comments you make.

Thank fcuk for that ! Probably one of the most overrated bands of all time !

Totally disagree with you both there. One of the best if not the best band ever in my opinion.
Just glad I managed to get to see them at Heaton Park earlier this year.

I hold my head in shame. Every one of our players were brilliant and our management team looked so hungry to win. If we get praise off the Beeb, we must have been good.
