On this day in 1977, a long unbeaten run for Manchester United was brought to an end by Norwich City when they won 2-1 at Carrow Road.
The result led to widespread crowd trouble initiated by United supporters prompting then manager Tommy Docherty to call for the reintroduction of the birch to deal with the troublemakers.

Don’t you reckon the ‘so called weakened team’ that Fulham played should put in a counter clain to the Premier League of Slander from West Ham.Who are they to say that the players that Roy put on that ptch were less capable than those that didn’t play.
This is a squad game, when legs get tired they need resting and that is why they have a 20 man squad and not just 11.
As was mentioned earlier, the Hammers didn’t complain too much when Manchester United had some tired players and rested them for the last game of the season, ultimately allowing them to stay up on that day.
Go on Fulham, put a counter claim of Slander back at the World Cup Winners.

I don’t think Cattermole necessarily wanted away, I think he was kind of forced out when Whelan saw pound signs in his eyes. He didn’t give that many free kicks btw.

How can you say that Moses is ready to replace N’zogbia? Because Hugo may also go (I hope to god, over-rated as they come). If we can get anywhere near the £15 roumoured for Hugo… It would be great business.
So does every player. For Premier League teams the kit supplier (Nike, Adidas or Vandanel in our case) provide each player with 4 tops per game, 2 short sleeved 2 long. So when you see shirts being sold or given away as one’s they wore in the game, they might not have actually worn them. Just put a couple of grass stains and an autograph on them and hey presto there’s a couple of hundred quids worth of merchandise.You freak. They aint that low. They will only say they have worn them if they have.
My mate N’zogbiasLeftPeg got a signed home top in an auction for £80 last night at a sportsmans dinner, was signed after the Man City game. I bid for the signed away top…. I bid £95 quid but someone topped over hundred so I stopped there haha, cant remember what it went for.
