Embarrased to say that I agree with Griff that Thomas is awful, but so is Boyce and you do not want Boyce in a side vs Defoe, therefore Scharner was the right choice.

Vat69, I thought the first half against Birmingham at home was possibly the best I’ve seen us play this season, apart from the finishing, we should have been 5-0 up at half time.Though it was a good performance, not taking anything away from the lads, Birmingham were by far the worst football team to visit the DW this season, and it wasn’t just because we ‘didn’t let them play’

I’m actually getting tired of all the complaining. Not just here but at the games as well.I would prefer to be in a 10,000 crowd and not have to listen to all this nonsense. Over the years I have been proud of our supporters but something has gone wrong recently and, for me, that is far more worrying than how the team is playing. This season we have played some great stuff but we are growing as a team in the hardest league in the world so it will be a struggle.
Who are these people who whinge from the moment the ball is kicked off? In fact I’ve heard moans as the team comes out of the tunnel this year. For God’s sake give them a chance.
It is making going to matches hard work, because I seriously feel like punching folk for their idiotic comments. One guy in East 6 was bigging up the fact that he could do a better job than Martinez. Nobody stood up to him and he ended up actually believing his own nonsense in the end. It was truly embarrassing.
We badly need a campaign to get behind the team over the coming months. Perhaps CL or the supporters club could organise something to get some real support going. It is possible, at times yesterday there was a real buzz as we got behind the team. But as soon as a pass went astray… it’s a good job Messi doesn’t play here. He’d have to be perfect.
This team is lacking confidence. If the moaners cannot see that then they are not supporters of Wigan Athletic.

Actually the reply was a bit harsh. I stand by him not being good enough, but we should keep hold of everyone we have… Small enough squad to begin with.
He’s gone on loan for the rest of the season to West Brom, I quite like him as he gets stuck in and he’s capable of grabbing the odd goal, just what we might need in a relegation dog fight.A player with nearly no prem experience and lacking in talent. Just what we need that is pal ;) He aint good enough.
