Very sad how that player’s career went down the pan.

Well done to his agent, Tony Finnigan, for really making the most of his players career….not.

Him and Roberts in the Premiership….it could’ve been beautiful. :(

Indeed!

Word at the time was he was in Whelan’s office saying he didn’t really want to go and that he accepted a contract at West Brom than was less than we was offering….

Really earned his agent fee on that one the ****.
Blaming his agent is an absolute cop out in my opinion
Only 1 person had the ultimate say in whether he stayed at Latics or moved & that was Nathan Ellington himself – he’s an adult human male & if he didn’t want to go he could have quite simply said no he wanted to stay at Latics & sign the deal that they put on the table for him.
It’s not like Tony Finnigan held a gun to his head or anything

From what I can gather, the issue was that the total package on offer at Latics had the potential to be more than the total package on offer at West Brom but Ellington wanted a bigger basic salary which was what West Brom were offering. Whilst Latics package was heavily weighted towards appearance & performance related bonuses.
Not knocking him for taking what West Brom offered & if his performances in the top flight were anything to go by then he’d have been on next to nowt at Latics ;) but Nathan Ellington alone decided to move, Tony Finnigan merely got him the best deal out there which is what footballers pay them to do
Tony Finnigans relative? :P

Not my favourite player but seemed to be improving with his run in the side, and as mentioned wasn’t doing too bad of a job covering for McArthur.

Here’s hoping for a quick and speedy recovery.

Todays game: Jean Beausejour was absolute garbage. Has been all season, needs to shed a few
pound/stone. Slow and lazy

No the Raj is not a takeaway place. It is for eating in. Trust me i love Indian food and have been to probably nearly all in the Wigan area. I have had a takeaway from there myself and it is a very half hearted attempt, However when you go in the food is the best thing in the world, The service is excellent, Beer is also excellent and ignore JamesC, It is like a palace inside. He obviously hasn’t been.

I lived next to The Raj it for 20 years. I have been. It may be decent(ish) inside but it is situated in a dump and is a dump from outside.

Only had takeaway from Raj once and it wasn’t very good at all.

Buraq is really good, but someone I know told me a story about them that has stopped me giving them my custom. I won’t repeat the details, but it’s nothing like the usual hygiene related rumours Indian restaurants often have.

The Shundarbon in Wigan actually closed a few months back.

Is the story regarding Cats? Or their meat more importantly?
There was a Cat meat rumour about the India Gate in Horwich.

And why did it shut down?? Good place that! Even played football on the Tele!

His biggest downfall for me is no plan B.

Which is ironic, because he looks very much like a Plan B.

Love this. I had this thought when I first saw Plan B. Hats off Griff

Shundabon (Excuse spelling) in the town centre is decent.

was utter garbage again. When will little Wigan get rub of green.

Hugos goal was a gud one.

Wasn’t a free kick that led to there ofside goal.

When will we get a fair play ref

Lets be serious. Hugo’s goal was NOT a good one no matter which way you look at it! Can’t believe you actually moaned about that!

Reet, he means cos Chelsea don’t have an extra cup game they will still have to play man u around the the time they play us which may, but probably won’t, mean we have a better chance with ref to resting players and all that.

Yer still thick, and admitting it makes you no less thick ;)

Thanks Griff.

Everton beating Chelsea is a great result for us it now means they play United at home a week on Tuesday. So United next set of fixtures are Marseille away on Wednesday, us away on Saturday, Chelsea away on tuesday then Liverpool away the following weekend. Old red nose could rest some big players against us.

How does that affect us?? .. How does that make it better for us? .. Surely Man Utd playing Chelsea and not Everton would have made it better? :?
