We (on paper) should have beaten them…but we didn’t. Not sure if it was complacency or what….
People who have paid £1,000’s should expect England to have one or two bad games – I wasn’t aware of a ticket that had a guarantee that England would play excellent every game.
People are allowed to vent their anger…I am sure the players would vent their anger.
Also, it’s irrelevant how much footballers get paid – it’s what they deliver. They delivered nothing tonight and I am angry…but booing your players…

So Man City should have beaten us in the League cup when we were in the 2nd division coz they were in the Prem and we were little Wigan. Arsenal should have beaten up in the league cup semi final….coz they are England’s top 4…because we were little Wigan…
An African team played out of their skins against what they would see as world class players, and England took it as just playing a substandard team from Africa….that’s about it really!

I think Roony was right to say what he did. Why would people pay £1000’s to go to South Africa to boo their players?

Well, I am going to go against the grain here and say that £7.5M for 1 player for a club of our size is too much money to spend. The whole point of looking for talent is to try and find talent at the £1M to £4M scale to sell on as a profit….that keeps the club in the prem and that also attracts more fans to watch the club…..building a solid foundation.
….what if this guy is a flop and becomes another Koumas/Kapo?? £7.5M wasted!

This John Benson thing…yes, its ashame he is leaving (did I really say that!) but some of the stuff on here is making me laugh. Some peoples “Facts” need to be looked at again – So, did Benno bring in:
Palacios – No, he went for a trial with Arsenal but Wenger had too many midfielders so he tipped of Bruce, he went to Brum after a trial.
Figueroa – We had one Honduran…what does the rest of the Honduran team look like……hardly extensive scouting..
Rodellega – OK, He may have unearthed this gem…but do we really know that?
He signed some good players and he signed some bad ones…everyone does.
But this is Wigan Athletic in transformation and to fully transform, the whole club needs to change. Martinez has signed some good players, he has signed some players that have not settled in (Gomez etc..) but thats football.
I welcome the change – it can only be for the good of the club by a person who is totaly 100% Wigan Athletic and wouldn’t want any harm to come of this great club.
I didn’t buy a Vandanel kit. I have bought a shirt for the last 20 years but not that one. bought it for the kids though.

My most embarrassing moment this year was sitting with 5000 other people watching two premiership sides in the FA cup at our own ground and listening to the media after.
I think Martinez has a good core of a squad – I watch a lot of Spanish football and can see the Martinez philosophy, however, he needs to get the defence right (at times at the back, sometimes we look unbeatable and sometimes we don’t!)
Like I have said, I will judge Martinez on the 2010 – 2011 season and also what he does in Summer.
I hope a deal can be done for steve gohouri. Top defender and I am supprised that he hasn’t been mentioned.
