Now now, don’t make me out to be a racist. I won’t have it.

To quote me directly I said in response to another poster.
“Not sure where they got there baseball bats from for the attack around Sams/Pear Tree, somebody mention our local Poles might have been involved.”

My point being that I doubt they had travelled with the said baseball bats and certainly didn’t have them earlier at Berkley Square, nor do I know of a shop in Wigan that sells them, especially after 6pm. It wasn’t me who said it was the local Poles, it was somebody I spoke to at the match last night.

Now if you’d like to wind your neck in and I’ll accept your apology when it arrives.

When you said Poles in your message, I initially thought you meant Poles as in a substitute to baseball bats!!

California’s governor pledged the same thing a good few years ago….and they suffered electricity blackouts. Milibean is clutching at straws at best. When you are a Company, you have an obligation to return value to shareholders who put their money into companies, that’s how companies can expand, take on more workers and grow. Catch 22 really, without investors, companies will cease to expand and allow their competitors to take their market space. Having a government restriction on payments to privately owned companies for services such as energy and it has an impact on shareholder’s decision to invest in a UK company or one abroad which will return better value.

Agree more should be done to help people, but as usual, the root cause of the problem is not being identified…Usual Labour blaming the big Corporates rather than looking a bit closer to home.

          Rebuild?

FA Cup winningteam (with replacements for those not here):
01 Robles (Carson as good if not better)
          03 Alcaraz (Barnet, worthy replacement)
          17 Boyce
          04 McCarthy (Powell, is better)
          10 Maloney
          14 Gomez
          16 McArthur
          18 Espinoza
          33 Scharner (Rogne)
          02 Kone (Fortune)
          15 McManaman

Coyle just need to realise that the above is his best team not dissimilar from the FA Cup winning team…. Beausejour and Watson can watch from the bench and the latter can come on in the last ten minutes to score the last minute winner as many times as he wishes. I thought Beausejour would have been OK in this league (he certainly isn’t a Prem player) but so far, he has proved me wrong.

I agree with this. We shouldn’t be looking at anything less than a top 2 finish with the players we have. That on Saturday was a shambles, to be pushed off the ball and out muscled in the way we was is ridiculous. I couldn’t even tell you what formation we were playing at times or if there was any sort of game plan. Last season, the only thing that got us relegated was our inability to defend, which Coyle said he didn’t have to do anything but shore-up the defense. He has changed the way we are playing and is changing personnel that he doesn’t need to change.

I think it was a poor appointment in the first instance and still do, its a shame because he would be better suited to be a Director of Football because I cannot fault him of the signings he has made. Somebody needs to give him a copy of last seasons games and the FA cup games so he can understand how to get the best out his players and how they are already used to playing together. He needs to see how Maloney should be played, how to use McArthur and McManaman properly.

I want him to succeed, I want us to succeed….but I won’t be surprised if he is out of a job by Christmas if this continues.

I cant remember a time where we appointed a manager which the majority didn’t approve. I think this is a terrible appointment on the basis that I can’t see him attracting the type of player to play our brand of football, which is disappointing because we spent 3 hard seasons adapting to the new style…only to be re-adapted to another style (very direct). The only silver lining I see is…..well, I cant!

Poor, Poor decision in my opinion.

Bit unfair on Caldwell of the stories I have heard are to be believed. He has to have a number of pain killing injections to make him mobile. He has supposed to have put off a hip operation so that he can be available if needed….if all is true, what a remarkable effort of someone who clearly cares for the club…

They make me laugh the scousers do…..listening to TalkSport, liverpoo fans coming on from places like Cardiff, Devon etc saying they should go for Guardiola because LFC are massive….some guy said about getting Ancelotti from PSG…..hahaha

Deluded is not the word…..they will end up with either some American coach or Rafa again…..but not Bob!!!

                  Steve Kean makes me laugh..

“We need to win two of the three games, so including one of those against Tottenham and Chelsea. It’s a tough schedule on paper but at this time of the season form goes out of the window. It’s just about performing on the day.”

….yep, Wigan are rubbish…easy win there for you Steve

Well, I suppose they did….but surely we should have tapped into the loan market….the top 6 must have a good young’un who knows where the net is…..mind you, Machieda isn’t ripping up trees at QPR is he.

I agree with that…..a prooven goalscorer or two and we would have been mid-table. Its crazy what we ave done with Rodders…we should have taken whatever for him and got another goalscorer….even if on loan.

As bad as he has been, I would have called back bosselli from his loan in january. I think we will stay up by a point (so the BBC predictor tells me) and I have us down loosing against scousers, chelsea, man ure and arsenal…picking up wins from stoke, Wolves and Blackburn…drawing the rest. The way blackburn have gone by winning two on the trott is the key. They play Bolton this weekend, and if they win that, they should be safe…I think we play Blackburn towards the end of the season so could be an easier game for us whilst they celebrate staying up.

…A well-articulated post. Ok, some good points raised so let me start. I am not trying to challenge anyone to start protesting, merely. pointing out that a lot of disgruntled fans seem to be doing a lot of talking but not a lot of doing, in fact, I haven’t heard anyone shouting anything anti-Martinez from my seat in ES3 (maybe more gets said in the west stand). The insults and anger seems to be coming from this board alone.

I am not having a go at people criticising performances, I agree, the one against QPR was a bad one, but to go on saying Martinez is the worst manager ever, Whelan is tight etc etc doesn’t really tell the tale of the problem really in my view.

As for the deadwood, well maybe a generalisation of people who don’t want to be here such as Rodellega, Alcaraz etc. I don’t think Martinez is deadwood but he is under a lot of pressure trying to do the right thing with not the right players.

In your view, who do you realistically think would be a good manager to come in now at this stage and get us out of relegation?

…….on another note, a mate of mine told me he was reliably informed that Ian Dowie was in Wigan on Friday afternoon.

so you would rather hit the revenue of the club than have a protest?

I also think it would be good to have 2 upfront….but shouldn’t Crusat or Moses be supporting Rodders…thus making it 2 up front? it would be nice if Moses passed the ball rather than shooting all the time when he has better options.

I agree, Rodders isn’t a lone striker…but in those positions, he shouldn’t be a lone striker, he should be supported by Crusat or Moses when our wing backs are further up the pitch. The problem is like I have pointed out before, nobody takes responsibility of what happens next when we are near their goal.

Not sure it’s a confidence thing or what….I am not a FA Accredited Manager or Coach.

I would say his biggest mistake was Boselli but I cant really think of any other players who have been mistakes…(obviously the not good enough argument comes into play here but relative on the cost of the player in the first place)

                                  ..pay peanuts and get Championship/league 1 players…
