Seem to have gone full circle on the blame….now the back room staff FFS
there does seem to be a couple of bad eggs knocking around, I think Martinez does come across a bit too nice, but I doubt King Jones would be all mamby pamby….
As for Barrow….isn’t his role to look after the reserves? So why would he be involved in first team affairs??
Have a listen to Holloways interview on the BBC website (The audio)
….He has a bit of a rant saying that Martinez is far better than the players he had out last night and they should so as Martinez wants them to do…because at the moment, they are not…
Time to send in Mr Jones’s Forehead to start butting out some teeth me thinks
There is something wrong in the dressing room. You cant go from how we played at Villa to where we are now!
King needs to be fooked off….he is desruptive (remember Phil Brown’s comments??)
Sharner, well, not sure where he is at…didn’t Bruce drop him at the beginning of last season for some reason…..think he needs dropping again for a while..
You should have asked then…
No it wasn’t
But let me ask you this….when does a boat become a ship?
99% of Liverpool (so called) fans based in Wigan have never been to Anfield….in fact, in an argument with one of my mates who is a Liverpool fan , I asked him to give me directions to Anfield….
….guess where he directed me to….
….Goodison
I kid you not…
does me head in even more when they refer to Man U as “we” What the fook!!!
.get two more 5 million strikers who no were the net are. That’s quite a lot of stikers….doubt they would all fit on the pitch ;)
Good call hgl.
Look at it this way – there’s not going to be a better wake-up call or opportunity to learn for Bob and the new team than by matching and by getting trounced by what is still the best team in the league (yes, even better than the “resurgent” Arsenal).
Our history against Utd shows that it always goign to be our bogey team (you can bet your house it’ll either be a drubbing or us losing after taking the lead). There was also too many other bigger factors to think that we’d get anything from today (Rooney on 99, Owen on a duck, Berbatov on a drought, Valencia’s return, Utd’s loss to Burnley).
Personally, I’d rather get one of our two obligatory drubbings of the season out of the way early and now crack on – remember, we trounced Hull 5-0 at their place at the same point last season and they then went on a brilliant run.
Couple of gripees though:
– just seen the highlights on MOTD and am disgusted by the dirty tactics of some of Utd’s players (Scholes, Evra, Vidic)
– secondly, Bob said today that losing 1-0 or 5-0 didn’t make a difference to him…hmm, it does in this league mate, as we found to our credit when we survived by just the 1 goal 3 seasons ago…
agree totally with the last bit dont think martinez as got a clue, really think it could go down to goal difference this year, bob bob give us a wave , yes thats you martinez or have you forgot,[/quote]
I am not sure why people are saying Martenez hasn’t a clue….why, could you do better or do you know something that Martinez doesn’t?
What were people expecting 3 games into a new season with half a new squad? top of the league??
You know…was on the way home from the match yesterday and the guy on Radio 5 summed it up.
Wigan are a good side with some good players, however, the players Martinez has brought in haven’t yet adapted to the speed and the pace of the Premiership.
He singled out Gomez as a good player – first time I seen him yesterday and I think he will be really good. I also thought Diame and also Thomas were good…just need to Gel.
Koumas….I am out on this one. His shot in the first half was very decent and their keeper made a good save, however, there were times yesterday that he didn’t look that comfortable on the ball, especially under pressure.
The result wasn’t great, but I bet if we lost 1-0 there wouldn’t be all the doom and gloom…….I think it will take us until October, then we will see some good stuff from our guys…
Tonights performance was possibly the wort I have ever seen Wigan Athletic play, and I have been watching the Latics for nearly 50 years. In fact I will go so far as to say that it was an utter disgrace. I suggest you go to the chairman and tell him to open his wallet and spend big time because if he doesn’t you will be managing a Championship team next season.I can think of many more games that were awful
Latics v Mansfield – got beat 6-2
Latics v Bristol City – got beat 5-0
Latics v Barnet – got beat 5-0 (and I made the trip down on a cold Tuesday neet)
Latics v Canvey Island…..last season against Fulham
Springfield Blue….get a grip
my lad went on a bouncy castle with his new kit and it has plucked al across the back and side of the shirt…needless to say it will be going back to the shop…I hope they put the name and number back on!
Last seasons kit is by far the best home and away kit we have had…for a while anyway. I still have my Heinz shirt with the swerls on without any plucks!!
