I was working with Ian McNeil’s daughter when the news came through we had been elected to the football league.
Tarmac construction offices at Landgate. If I only knew then what a journey lay before me. :woohoo:

What a journey! That’s Karen carpenter surely?
Why have you got your pants pulled up like simon cowell?
I am more concerned about the tee shirt tank top combi ! :cheer:
Must admit thought that misell when the photo popped up. I think it was one of them all in ones that is sewn together but looks like its a t shirt and tank top. May have been cords as well.

Karen Carpenter has always been my favourite woman singer of all time. Such a deep mellow voice that nobody has really replicated until Rumer came along.
There’s too many Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Leona Lewis type singers who like to hit the screechy top notes but have no lower register.Chloe is as near as you can get to Karen Carpenter and when she sings the Carpenter’s songs, shut your eyes and its her.
PS JD, once you get into your fiftys you start to buy pants in chest sizes.

What a journey! With us needing to sign up to 10 players, wouldn’t staying in the UK be the sensible thing to do ?No ler um get out of the country in some seedy motel in the USA where there are no phone signals. We can leave the powers that be in the club behind to deal with any transfer stuff.
Owen will hopefully be compiling his list of possible targets so get it drafted and then bugger off to the good old US of A.

What a journey!I know it looks like Alcaraz is on his way but you never know what Coyle has up his sleeve. The scavengers will be out come June 30th, but if he is offered terms he can’t refuse to stay another season, which if I was Whelan I would, then he could sign another contract.
It’s all ifs, buts and maybes at the moment, when the big deals are completed everything will suddenly start to happen as it does every transfer window.
No doubt we will be trying to force Dean Windass out of retirement at 23:59 on transfer deadline day. :huh:From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!Really nice sound JR dont tell Owen.
PS if that’s a recent picture you will have to change user name to jrslimfan.Picture taken about 18 months ago Phil. Lost nearly 5 1/2 stone in 7 months, then got struck down with a medical problem. Nothing life threatening, but got me really depressed and instead of going off food I hate my head off. :woohoo:
Not gone back to were I was but nearly half gone back on.
Is Mr H still in to the entertainment scene?, thought he’d hung up his mike.
I’ve gigged with some good singers in my time, but this girl is something special. She can do modern stuff and equally well turn to opera. Her and my lad are working in Essex at the moment, but she has took a couple of bookings in August in the North west. Can’t wait to see her full show. :cheer:

What a journey!I’m looking forward to winning more than we lose in the Championship and enjoying the buzz of winning regularly again.
The logic of this makes no sense. You want to see Wigan win regularly yes? But that would (hopefully) lead to promotion and then getting mullered every week. If it doesn’t lead to promotion then I imagine we lose in the play offs/get knocked out in the play offs every season?
There isn’t a single team in the Championship that is happy just staying there, all 24 teams have long term ambitions to get promotion. We can’t just be satisfied with ‘winning more than we lose’, we must try and get promotion whilst the whole club still has the Premier League mentality and believes the Prem is where we belong. The longer we go without promotion, the more we’ll accept that we are a Championship club (like Ipswich, Leeds, Middlesbrough etc have).
Bang on there pal.

What a journey!I will be there yes.
It’s yet another historic occasion for our club. The Charity Shield is a game of football that is basically reserved for the 2 elite clubs in England. A. The Premier League Champions and B. The FA Cup Champions.
Just to be a part of this match no matter what the circumstances of the game itself is an honour for our club.
A 3rd visit to Wembley from as low as £25 a ticket with return train tickets around £20-£30 is very affordable.
Another addition to our trophy cabinet? Let’s hope so.
Links for £20-£30 return train tickets please !
keep your eyes and ears open Fil, we went for a night stop over and train for the final, cost £45. B)

What a journey!As Michael Jackson once said…..
are you sure they are only pain killers?:woohoo: “I’ll be there” :cheer:From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!I guess that some of us could see how things were unfurling before our very eyes whilst others refused to accept it ! It was mid January when I realised that we would more than likely go down and despite a very brief period of hope ( 1 week ) my fears were eventually confirmed ! Darkside ? No. realist ? Yes ! ;)

Bravo Mystic Meg, there is a difference to believing we will go down and wanting to believe we will stay up. personally I have loved the bumpy ride that was Martinez reign, and accepted the relegation when it came.
The thing the darkside will never understand is supporting your team and enjoying it while it lasts. being a defeatest and accepting fates before they have come to pass. Must have been a sad old time for you.
Shoudl have had your money on us for the cup at the start of the season 500-1 lol
If the truth be known, the FA Cup win papered over the cracks of a pretty disappointing final Premiership campaign that ultimately ended with us bailing out ! I wanted us to survive but saw hardly anything to give me hope and that is what I wrote, say what you see ! Bar the FA Cup there was not too much to enjoy about last season especially the the home form which was dire to say the least ! If you chose to suppress the very fact that we played like a relegation destined side then fair enough but deep down I knew that our 8 year stint was coming to an end but it was far far from a sad old time for me because I had more or less accepted the fact and was prepared !
So had all the Lightsiders, but they didn’t keep faffing on about it like spoilt kids. B) :P
Do you really want me to dredge up some of your super confident of avoiding the drop nuggets JR !! :cheer:
Go ahead Phil by all means go for it. Do you really think I am ashamed of backing my team through thick and thin, its what a true supporter does isn’t it? B)
So you didnt walk away from the DW on numerous occasions last season thinking ” Well that was shit ” did you not ? I did but it didn’t mean that I had not just got behind my team for 90mins and tried to gee them on ! Oh I did my bit, alas the team didn’t do theirs and down they went ! So I did back them through thick and thin, the difference being that I am not a one dimensional person and I have opinions that were deemed to be negative yet with hindsight realistic which is the whole point of my thread ! You keep smiling and nodding and I will form opinions !
I think if you ask the lads I go to games with, they will tell you that I am usually the one who walks off the DW giving credit to the side that’s took 3 points of us and pointing out were I think we’ve gone wrong. Within a couple of hours after the game I’ve kicked the cat, bit the wife’s head off, clod half mi tea in the bin and on my 4th pint, I start looking forward to the next game and the positive vibes come back.
Do I feel the need to come on here slagging the manager, chairman, players off….err no.
Do I bite when the D/S come on winging like fek…….unfortunately yes.
You see I’ve been used to defending my club over the years from cheap jibes from chubster fans and the big club followers.
It just pishes me orf when our own fans do it to a degree teetering on hatred, not that you are in that catagory. You seem to be a poster who changes your views depending on the outcome of each game almost.
I remember Griff saying a while back that if we go down, you just know that the D/S’s will be in their element bleating on about “I told you so”
So well done, you told me so and well done for having a realistic opinion, great stuff pal.
