Quickly becoming our most insane signing ever.
The bloody replacement for our best and most influential midfielder/Wideman we have had this season (Yanic) and he doesn’t play. Six matches without a start. A complete and utter pathetic joke. Do we really want to stay in this league?? Bound to come on now and be a game changer!Yeh go on Warren play Obertan even though he is not fully fit, it wont do the team any good but will satisfy some posters on here. FFS
I can’t believe you don’t know whats going on with the players, he told us when he signed Obertan that he was not match fit, hasn’t kicked a ball since early December. I’m sure he’s getting fitter by the day so please listen to what the manager says instead of going off on one. What would you have said if WJ had chosen not to sign him because it would take 3-4 weeks for him to get match fit? You would have moaned about that saying why turn a class player down cos he needs to get match fit.
I’ve said it before and will say it again WJ can’t win with some of you on here. It was moan, moan, fekin moan about not having two up front, or two strikers in the starting 11, now we have that, it’s shifted to why no Obertan. :angry:From Matlock to ManU
What a journey! Can’t remember name ert shop, but as a kid I used to get either a quarter erv liquorish tablets or a quarter erv midget gems from that shop ert top erv First Avenue. All gone by half time.

What a journey!Someone please ask joyce why is he so negative & doesn’t at least try to go for it.Even when playing two up front, or two centre forwards, depending on how you look at it, the manager gets slated.
The Preston back 4 were superb today and hence chances were at a premium. Does that not come into the equation? :huh:From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!Hate both the bastards, but not half as much as our egg chasing parasitic lodgers, but we’re not allowed to slag them off anymore are we?
That’s just jealousy though horc.
Please don’t go down the jealousy route egg lad. That’s exactly what the plastic Mancs spout to those who show vitriol to the scum. If it was jealousy you would just jump on the bandwagon and support them yourself. I will never be jealous of the what that lot have done coz they don’t register in any part of my thoughts only when I have to reply about the brain dead sport on here. Hats off to you Mon for supporting both but to me egg clodding doesn’t exist and that’s both forms of the joke sport.
Didn’t have you down as a fish but any catch will do. ;)
From my personal experience of things rugby fans didn’t care about Latics until we made the Prem. At that point Latics fans stopped singing songs about the rugby. Now Latics fans in the main don’t care but rugby fans do all they can to degrade Latics. The one reason I can think is jealousy.
When i was growing up i always supported them both because i like both sports. I can understand people not being bothered about them if they didn’t like rugby but some people just hate them out of jealousy and envy and there is no getting away from it. A lot of Latics fans who have kids are educating them to grow up hating Wigan Warriors because of their own inept insecurities. Its pathetic.
Whats even more pathetic is you coming on to this board and chastising the Latics fans who hate the rugby. Don’t like it keep off this board, its a Wigan Athletic Fans Message board you will not hear any derogatory things about the Chubsters if you stop logging in.
I hope the Aussies fuckin hommer the cherry and shyte tomorrow so we can all celebrate a great win for the true champions the mighty Wires.
I’m not going to go into the reasons why I hate the rugby with a passion its all been said before, but my grand kids are only supporting one team in this town and its the one that has had the bragging rights since 2005. Jealous? your’e having a laugh, its people like you who are the jealous, coming onto this board and having a pop at our fans.
Now run along little boy and get ready for the big game tomorrow, Highfield over 65’s crown bowling team against Poolstock vets, should be a decent crowd. :lol:From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!0 (big fat zero!).Wolves is a hard place to go and Preston are playing well ath the
moment and will come with less pressure!Wrong!

What a journey!Great smash and grab, Burn and Buxton outstanding. I’m actually going to enjoy the ride home for once.

What a journey! My recollection of Obertan is that he wasn’t very good? so I’m not expecting much from him. Hope he proves me wrong.
Our transfer windows are a bit like groundhog day, a lot of midfield signings..The lad was under tremendous pressure at united being labeled the new Ronaldo. Don’t forget the championship is a step down to where he has played previously in England.
Let’s hope he gets fit quick and is introduced at a time when he’s ready to perform at his best.

What a journey! In that case then we should have signed a player who was immediately ready to replace Yanic.
Three weeks may be too late. That will take us into March. Give him two or three weeks to settle and we have him then for a miracle making five or six weeks before he fly’s off to the sun with us in League 1.What instead of buying a top quality player??? If they had signed a player from Mansfield who was ready to play on the left wing, you would have moaned that he wasn’t good enough.
In other words WJ can’t win no matter what he does. From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!Relegation will be a big blow to the club financially ._.But on the bright side will grigg will be on fire again
And we might see more wins at homeI wouldn’t bank on it Bicky. I seem to remember a plethora of people thinking that would be the case about the Championship after relegation from the Premiership was confirmed. It’s not acceptable for a football club to hope to go down to see a few wins. You should expect and demand the very best possible from a team with no financial problems no matter how much spin is put on the club being skint. Joyce will be a good manager but i doubt it will be at Wigan Athletic. I think he has done very well in bringing in the players he has considering he was never going to get bugger all of the 7m that was made in selling the club’s best player. His hands are tied. The Whelan family doing what they do best. Suffocating the club until it goes pop.
What a big load of twaddle, give yer head a wobble lad. Only for the Whelans we would never have seen championship football never mind Premier League, two major final appearances and a major trophy.
You fekin ungrateful twort!!
A very clever and very elaborate business plan from Dave Whelan. It was always intended to end this way. Some fans seem to think it’s ok to substitute the clubs future for the sake of a few years at the top and a cup win. It wasn’t earned on merit. It was bought and the man who bought it always intended to take all his money back and a lot more. He doesn’t care about Wigan Athletic. You will see one day. He is a Wigan Rugby mon anyway, that’s his real passion.
Now hang on a bit, you have just proven that you are just a DW hater. A clever business plan? have a think about that again, it was the worst business plan you could ever hope to have! Sinking a load of money in a stadium that was currently only getting a few thousand fans on every fortnight, where is the revenue coming from?, And on top of that paying out daft money in order to assemble a half decent team, that in reality had no way capable of making it to the top.
Having got to the top he puts his money where is mouth is and provides his managers with enough dosh to keep the club in the top flight for 8 seasons. Just when you think he couldn’t do anymore for the club he writes off the £70m debt he is owed by the club.
Mr Dave Whelan was a multi millionaire before he bought Wigan Athletic, Wigan Athletic didn’t make Dave Whelan a millionaire. As for his connections with Wigan Rugby, the guy just loves our Town and everything to do with it. His original plan was to have a ground share with the Latics and Orrell Rugby Union the Chubsters weren’t in the equation.
A clever business plan indeed, go and hang your head in shame. By the way have you ever paid to watch a game at the DW? if you have congratulations on contributing to the Whelans millions.

What a journey! He hasn’t taken the bull by the horns from day 1 and I think the same will happen Tuesday. His boring ,unadventurous set up screams no goals.Grigg is a good in the box finisher but Defoe wouldn’t score in Joyce’s set up.Not addressed the striker issue sufficiently and totally overloaded with midfielders who nosebleed if they get within 50yds of Grigg.Do you wonder why Grigg looks completely knobbed off ??…..Bet the teams around us don’t set up as dead as us at home. For me he’s been a crap appointment…boring the ars off me…signing a truck load of players two thirds who won’t see daylight till league 1.!!!..Look at our stats and tell me he’s getting it right.Grigg off..Bogle on sums him up .Only Morsy and Weir looked worth a cent.Time Jacobs,Perkins,Power did some bench warming. Wholesale changes needed for next week….rather go down fighting that in this insipid fashion.Sheff Wed one shot on target one goal. We are getting more difficult to beat and he has brought in some additional firepower that he can work with over the coming weeks.
It was only right to at least give WJ the chance to build his own team and we have played just one game since the window closed, against a team who will be in the promotion fight. We certainly did enough to get something out the game, their goal being a total fluke.
Lets be patient and only get into spit dummy mode when his had time to work out his best team / formation and still not getting results.

What a journey!Beagrie and Kirkland were spotted on last night with their post match summary of Wigan. They can see it,we can so why this persistence in going out not to lose.Commentator made statement that Caldwell believed Grigg can’t play in a 2 up front. Both Beagrie and Kirkland both totally disagreed and contrary to that both think that’s exactly what he needs.Start with 1 on his own Tuesday and you can start planning for league 1 …..we have lost too many games when being a bit more offensive minded we could have eeked out a result.Weir and Obertan must surely come in on Tuesday with Bogle,Grigg……..WJ has already told us that Obertan has not touched a ball for over 3 weeks, its Russia’s winter break. It would be unfair to the lad to throw him in when he’s not up to speed.
I liked the look of James Weir though, he looked up for the fight and surged into the Wednesday box 2-3 times in his short cameo. :)

What a journey! Will you please stop this “Youtha, Angel” nonsense, its not funny and to be honest quite tedious. It’s something I would expect from my 7 year old grandson.
You engage in some sensible discussions but spoil it with that shyte. :P

What a journey!they keep their numbers even when on loan
Not sure about that, when Odelusi was on loan ALF got his number 11 shirt.
Was probably a close season change like Billy McKay who had 10 and Grant Holt who had 9.
