Younger voters favoured Corby…older voters favoured May.
Life’s good when you’re young until you have to pay for it…
Tax and borrow today and you’ll pay tomorrow.
Renewing of course ;)
I usually pay on credit card and pay it off over 2 or 3 months so renew about a week before the deadline to minimise the cost. Gives a few days spare in case of any system issues.
Prepare yourselves for the latest version of the one up top illness that has infested our club since the day Jason Scotland graced our pitch
Yip it looks like we are falling for it again.
Other than that, good luck Cooky. We won’t hold our breath.
Another totally underwhelming appointment.
Will be there next season but many won’t be.
Such a shame.donny, Portsmouth scored a few last season so don’t be too hasty in judging this appointment. One up front is ok when used in the correct way, which our previous lot didn’t. Maybe you might be surprised?
I am not judging his appointment. He could be a good appointment. We have had eight seasons of our previous lot not using the lone striker in the correct way and eight seasons of mostly drab boring football. Can Cooky do with this type of football what Martinez, Coyle, Rosler, McKay, Caldwell, Yootha and Barrow didn’t do?
I hope so.
You’d like to think that after 8 seasons of near permanent crisis on the field the penny would finally drop…
This 1 up front malarky is all well and good with top players with fluid play. We don’t have that luxury.
El Clueless started it all with his Champions League football with Championship players on a non league pitch…with the occasional flourish let’s not forget, but otherwise it’s been downhill all the way.
It will be one up top Leyland. In which case he will be gone before December 1st if we’re not in the top 6 at that point.
New season, new manager, new division (the wrong one sadly…)
Welcome Mr Cook.
There isnt the quality in Lg 1 to trouble us at the back if we’re properly organised.
Far be it from me to stir the cauldron on the Chef’s first day, but FFS play two up front and take the division by the scruff of the neck.I sincerely hope i’m wrong (as usual ) but I fear a boring season of mid table obscurity if we don’t go for it.
Also finishing fifth in the league. Blackpool finished in Seventh position and went up. Millwall finished Sixth and went up.
This is the play-offs right or wrong but here to stay.Yes, so often the team finishing 3rd has just missed automatic promotion and is on a real downer going into the play offs. Brighton last season being a classic example.
The team finishing 6th is sometimes 12-15 points behind 3rd place but they start again from scratch. 6th place team is often on a high because they scraped into the play offs when they were maybe 10th 3 games earlier.
I think they should simplify the play offs to give much greater priority to the original table. My idea would be –
Keep the Wembley final, but 3rd place team should go straight into the final.
2 other games only.
6th to play away at 5th. One off game, extra time, penalties…loser out, winner through to play away to 4th. Same again, loser out winner then to Wembley to play 3rd.Fair play to Huddersfield, thought they were by far the better side yesterday. Thought it wouldn’t be their day after missing those 2 chances inside 10 minutes.
Always good to see yet another club reach the PL. Proof to the rest yet again that it is possible to climb the football pyramid and reach the top tier and a reminder to those in the PL that no club has a God given right to be in the PL (eg Villa) it has to be earned year on year.
To all those who thought the club would take the cheap option and give GB the job permenantly,,,YOU WERE WRONG!Be careful what you wish for JR
Steve Kean was seen in Wigan today.
Don’t panic, so was Elvis and the Loch Ness Monster B)
The more I’ve thought about it this could be a recipe for disaster. We’ll get battered
When the chips are down, find a new cook….and make sure he doesn’t have his fingers int ‘ill.
Big Sam is available lol.Says he doesn’t want another manager job…he’ll change his mind by August ;)
Prides himself on never having been relegated. Then again, he’s never been our manager. What was that myth about no one’s won the FA Cup and….
All I have to say on the matter is, “if you throw enough mud…..it sticks”.Everytime we have a terror attack, it seems to be muslims representing the Islamic State. They are intent on destroying our democracy and our way of life. They regard us as infidels, and that is why they targeted those young kids, mainly young girls, who dare to support a popular culture and way of life.
I think we do need to look at taking some special.measures with muslims in the UK. They, the terrorists and brainwashed, are here and among us. There’s no common enemy in a uniform. Nowhere is safe.
Time to clamp down.
What do you suggest? Intern them on the Isle of Man?
Barrow’s on a month’s holiday?
We must never give in or let these excuses for human beings stop us going about our lives. We need to show solidarity with the Muslim community (and they with us). To divide and cause hatred is these animals aim.
I’m posting this from an Irish bar in Berlin airport on way back to Manchester. When the IRA evil were killing we didn’t ban Irish people. We didn’t shut Catholic churches. We knew it was a few scum who needed dealing with.
I’ve seen memorials yesterday to the horrors Germany inflicted but today Berlin is the fastest growing Jewish community in the world. An eye for an eye makes the world blind. An increase was inevitable after last year’s bargain basement at £179. That said going to £269 is more than I was expecting (thought it would be £229-£249 region) and the individual prices look high at up to £28…
