ST sales were always going to be under pressure this season.
They held up really well last season given the euphoria from winning the Cup, looking forward to Europe and the expectation (rightly or wrongly) of going straight back up.
I got the impression at the end of last season that quite a few wouldn’t renew. It was disappointing that the club didn’t give us ST holders any discount for the QPR play off game.
So what happened? The Club put the prices up, despite 3 fewer games. We can argue all day about our prices compared to others, but this is Wigan
People call us in’t West old fuddies etc, but looking at the seat plan more of us have renewed than elsewhere in the ground…everyone around me has, Griff included of course!
Anyway who cares. We just have to make more noise…onwards and upwards…

Car Park 3 has been chargeable since the 2nd Prem season (they did tarmac it and paint nice lines on it though :lol: )
£60 for a season parking ticket (up from £50 last year). Also includes cup games…I got 29 games last season for £50 parking so hardly a rip off is it!
I am looking forward to Roslers first full season and relishing all the big games against Bolton,Leeds,Blackburn,Blackpool etc .
Not missing the Premier league at all and yes it fills the coffers but we are back in a league that has some soul and I am looking forward to games against the above far more than I ever would against teams like Swansea,Hull, Sunderland and Stoke.
a pity some people haven’t renewed but I doubt we would have seen a mad rush had we been promoted back to the prem .First big test of our fan base this IMO.

Totally agree.
In addition last season there was the expectation, rightly or wrongly, that we would go straight back up.
Now the reality has set in that we’re still in the Championship for 1 more season!
Do you think footballers really write like that (“Everyone was gutted”, “the home record since the gaffer came”, “you guys make the atmosphere so special”) or do the ghost writers try to write what they think that we think footballers talk like? :)My italics :lol:
