Bearing in mind we have dropped a division since last year and this City side this season are one of the best teams in the world.
With this rotation malarkey thing too, on paper it wasn’t our strongest side.
Hands up to Uwe and a big thank you too for putting some huge smiles on our faces this season.
Wembley again is just unbelievable against a fantastic team like Arsenal. We are the history makers.
I feel this was our biggest ever cup upset. Just a shame more of us were denied the opportunity to have seen the game live.
Thanks Uwe for everything you have done so far Sir.

According to the bookies yes…just looked at Oddschecker they had us 22/1 today (not 18/1). Odds like that in football are overturned once in 30 years…I remember Israel winning in France in 1994 WC qualifiers at 20/1!

We look more like a Premier League team every time we play at the moment. It’s not sour grapes, but barring a couple of defensive cock ups…we would still be a PL team!

I was going to get my ticket tomorrow for Horwich….

But other commitments in April now take precedence.

Bloody rubbish Wigan

What happened the last time we played arsenal in a major cup semi final…..
mmmmm! Let me think.

The floodlights failed!

How about four trips to Wembley in the same year, making seven in two years !
Wigan did make 4 trips to Wembley in 2013 ;)

For much of the game, if you didn’t know which team was which, you could have easily mistaken who was the Premier League team…that’s how good we were today.

Awesome.

18/1 for the win….eighteen to one.

Don’t think I’ll ever see a bigger upset than Mike Tyson loosing to Buster Douglas…but this is very, very close :woohoo:

I haven’t heard anything about the draw for the semi-finals.

I just hope we’re in it.

A googly search came up with this….no other reason why I would be looking at Arsenal’s site…

http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/20140307/fa-cup-semi-final-draw-on-sunday

If that is correct, we will definitely be in the semi-final draw :woohoo:

Lower tier £28 upper tier £33 they are having a laugh be lucky if we take 3,000 at them prices our place for them was £22 robbing gits

It was £22 in the lower tier last time we went to Horwich…in the Premier League

Perhaps the increase is to cover the cost of extra security to deal with the flare chuckers

Opinion. I dont think Wigan have enough to win three play-off ties this season.

Not a problem…..a draw away then win at home will do nicely in the semis

a) No
b) Yes

I wondered which of our scribes would come up with that combination

b) YES

in reply to: Suprised nobody has mentioned Seville/Maribor #127960

bottom of the league in Spain too Betis, all sorts of trouble.

We should have beaten them men at home and unlucky away.

If I’m honest Maribor ref did us in the end – didn’t know at the time but watched it since at home and that was one of the worst decisions for a penalty let alone a sending off I’ve ever seen.

Coyle did not give Europe the priority he should have done.

It was our one and probably only chance to play in Europe and he typically fooked it up. The Championship is such a give and take league anything can happen in the last month…so no excuse for not giving it everything in Europe in Oct/Nov then see how it goes.
Funny you should say that because he did give Europe his priority and took his eye off the league ! A mate of mine who deals in football memorabilia was up in Scotland when scotland played Croatia ( I think it was them ) and was chatting with a couple of the Scottish guys and they told him that OC was totally focussed on Europe and had made it a priority for us to do well ! Hindsight eh ! ;)
My memory’s not what it was…must be my age

Then again, the Coyle era was rather, erm, forgettable!

Kazan lost as well for the first time in yonks at home in Europe…

That should have been us tonight in Seville and we know it :S

Send the post card to Coyle, wherever he is now. That’s what I will never forgive Coyle for, he screwed up totally our progress in Europa Lge. We had an hour’s notice that Maribor hadn’t won in Kazan, although hardly a surprise ;)

Win against Zulte and we’re through…so Coyle doesn’t pick a striker, or even Holte.

I think DW made his mind up that night about Coyle’s future….

Well beaten, not stuffed is a fair summary!

18-0 when we went out…so feared the worst

Did that flight 4 years ago…very long way home!

Only saw the first 20 min, the Mrs wanted to go to Waitrose…

What’s that with having 2 referees? Do they have to agree every decision between them?

Can you imagine having 2 Phil Dowds….or even worse some of the men who impersonate referees in this division we’re in for a season :woohoo:
