I totally agree Runcorn the older players seem to respect them too. To get anyway near a result is a major achievement with all the disruption, so to be slightly disappointed with the draws we’ve is exceptional.
I hope they get rewarded in time and stay with us.I’ll drink to that Phil !
Negroamaro Bianco from the Puglia region of Italy, to be precise. Don’t even need to chill it in this weather.
Up the Young Tics & stay safe with the Latics !
Tomorrow’s statement from the admin will probably be something like this:
STATEMENT FROM ADMINISTRATION 22/01/21.
To the uneducated , Nothing to report this week ,will report again next Friday.
PS. Will probably sell a couple of academy players next week to our mates at other clubs ,obviously well below their true market value. Will use the same agent who has somehow managed to sell a whole squad of players for less than Wigan were offered for one player last season.
But, they’ll not mention the brown envelopes being passed under the table
Frampton now out !
Was he ever really in ?
I fear the worst because this admin team look incompetent; unless there is a hidden agenda.
I think the Latics will disappear into the abyss and that will be the end for me, as far as football goes.
When he came on at Rangers, my initial impression was pants !
Since then he has grown on me a bit; but he is not the most irreplaceable player that we have ever lost.
Yep, we played very well; considering a revised line-up yet again.
Thought Tendayi Darikwa had a steady game and showed promise in the second half.
Callum Lang got stuck in and put a great effort in.Amidst all this turmoil, the one bright shining light has been our young guns !
We must keep hold of them, until we can at least get multi millions for them further down the line. If they have any sense, they will realise it’s better to be getting game experience and exposure, rather than splinters in your arse on the 3rd team bench at Spurs.
I hate how the “big spenders” think they can just pick over our wilting corpse. These type of teams only help themselves, rather than the football infrastructure that they are part of. It typifies everything that is wrong with the modern greedy game.Bet the next news is: Admin sell Kyle Joseph for 150k !
You can’t make this shit up !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Right, where are those “Johnny Big Bollocks” so called bidders; time to step up to the plate and put your money on the table !!!!!!!!!
I’ve dealt with multi-million pound contracts and it doesn’t take that long to investigate the credibility of potential bidders.
So there must be an issue somewhere and they want to double tick every box after last time. They don’t want another club going to the wall.
Sorry young Egg, can’t agree with you on that.
If an issue is uncovered, you challenge it immediately before wasting time on the remaining criteria !
The EFL won’t bat an eyelid if they drive the Latics into extinction !FTEFL
Nowt to cheer about this morning.
We are absolutely screwed if the EFL don’t give the green light this week ! Desperate for leadership and reinforcements. WTF is taking them so long ? Have they appointed Sean Connery to investigate the Spanish connection ? Somebody from the administrators & council should be putting pressure on the EFL to get their act together. I’ve dealt with multi-million pound contracts and it doesn’t take that long to investigate the credibility of potential bidders. if it only took them two weeks, that would be five times longer that they spent checking out Egg Fou Yeung !
FTEFL
According to the interview, they were in and the spanish beat them to the punch
The Spanish were late bidders themselves ,but that is understandable.Frampton is a local business man and supposedly a Latics fan.He should have been aware of the situation right from the start. If he was really interested his bid should have been in months ago ,but no ,he waits until someone else gets exclusivity and then claims he has put a bid in but the admin don’t want to know.Really ?
I’m still with you on that Phoenix !
He also makes it sound that they were contemplating a bid for the Latics in Autumn 2019, then he goes on to blame Covid. So why didn’t they step in sooner ? Call me cynical, but it doesn’t stack up in my opinion.
The Spanish have submitted funding plans for the next two years and beyond ,this has been approved by the administrators, they are happy to continue with or without the supporters club being involved. The main stumbling block seems to have been the Council and the rent arrangements for the Rugby. This now seems to have been resolved and they can move forward. If you now want to go back to the drawing board with new bidders that may or may not exist and might or might not have sufficient funds, then fine but the process will take another two or three months and we will be absolutely doomed to relegation and more uncertainty.
This is now a matter of urgency,we need to give the Spanish a chance. If the new bidders are genuine ( for me ,if they were they would have been in the process months ago )then ,maybe they will return when the Spanish are looking to sell in three or four years time.Totally agree with you Phoenix.
If those so called bidders, with squillions to spare, have taken so long to throw their cap in the ring; then I smell a rat !I think the Spaniards have a legitimate shout if the Rugby have been ducking the rent because they have no revenue from attendances. Think Uncle Dave gave them the sort of deal that they wouldn’t get from anyone that doesn’t have a soft spot for them. Now is the time for the Rugby lodgers to step up to the mark and pay a fair share of rent.
As for the supporters fund, I think a 5% share is a fair exchange for a one off sum. Great effort from the supporters, but running a football club is an absolute money pit that requires continued investment; not just a one off lifeline. So all in all I think it is fair if you consider what it’s going to take over the next five or ten years to bring success back to the Latics.
Owt happened yet ?
Or is it simply a case of Massey being made to play at full back as opposed to his more normal position?
I actually think he played better at fullback, than in his so called natural position.
Also think he might have an attitude problem and he thinks that league 1 is below his level (would rather he work hard and prove his talent, rather than sulk).Personally I wouldn’t pick him; I’d sooner give one on the keen young bloods a chance !
Its doing the rounds this morning that Darren Royle is preparing a consortium if the Spanish bid goes tits up!
Don’t know if this would be good or bad thing for us after the Royles track record over the past couple of years, make your own minds up on that one.
Does he know something that we don’t ?
