When we played Rochdale they tried to play football without kicking Powell and Morsey off the park; so if they adopt that same approach I think it will suit us more than if a team turn it into a physical battle. Rovers have to go to Gillingham on the same night; I’m predicting 0-0 for their game. Never easy at the Priestfield.
Simply Lovely and still plenty in the tank !!!
He might get a job at Crewe Alexander.See what you did there, Otter; very subtle
So will you miss the Latics Vs Latics game ?
Got to admit though Ally he is consistently keeping up with his goal scoring prowess he started at Sunderland.
Imagine the stick Will would get or remember what Will got from some of our fans for just putting a shift in.To be fair, I think Frankie (Vaughan)offered the Bury defence as much aggression as he received; a situation in which I think Will would have been innocuous. Don’t forget, Frankie had a goal chalked off for being a bugs dick offside (if he was, that is !). An 8 out of 10 performance for me; coupled with good performances from Power and Burn !
Vaughan put a great shift in and I think it was the correct choice for this game; he was constantly being fouled by the Bury defence, but the ref just let all their niggling go.
Is that plus VAT ?
Sorry, couldn’t resist :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Not this time, Snake Man !
It came down to our Achilles heel not taking chances. They should have been beaten by half time. We need a big pain in the arse frontman to do the ugly stuff like big Em did. Someone to play to Will Griggs strengths. Its the half chances we seem to fluff all too often. We were superb throughout today and played some breathtaking stuff at times and made Southampton look like mugs. Fabulous performance by the lads which deserved better. If only we could have a cutting edge in front of goal. Once again my club has made me a proud Wiganner.Me too Ste, thought Southampton road their luck and if only we had nailed the chances for Roberts and Hunt. In the end we can hold our heads high knowing that “little Wigan” will be back !!!
Our goal difference could be the fine dividing line.
We have taken 8 points from four league games. That’s two points per game. Three of those games against promotion contenders and one against a team fighting relegation.Add to the mix a 2 goal comeback away to the league leaders and very late goals against Scunthorpe and Bradford, who says the wheels have come off!?
Its about points now not performances.
I wouldn’t swap our run in for Blackburns or Shrewsburys!
Hey Snake Fella,
That’s sort of the point that I’m trying to get across in my post “Law of Averages”
Okay, so today was a bad day at the office. Some people blab a load of shite; ie we can’t beat teams around us.
So far:
Blackburn have failed to beat us, so honours even.
Shrewsbury are the only top six side to narrowly beat us.
Rotherham, we already have 3 points in the bag with one to play.
Scunthorpe, we took 4 points from 6.
Plymouth, we bag all 6.Average haul from games played to date:
Blackburn 2.054 points per game
Shrewsbury 2.028 points per game
Wigan 2.06 points per gameYes its tight at the top, but let’s not push the panic button yet, because you can’t honestly say that Blackburn are leaps and bounds better than us. Take Dack & Graham out of their team and they look very ordinary.
FFS Keep the Faith
Our average points haul is now 2.088 :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
That was a 4 4 2 win Donny :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
It should steady our nerves a bit, and hopefully we can press on with two more away wins before Good Friday.
Think some of the posters on here have pressed the self destruct button, never mind the panic button. Let’s pick the team up, not knock them down; let’s give them a group of supporters worth fighting for !
Think he’s been gargling with the same Dettol that Sean Dyche uses !
