Charlton have a lot to play for, so I don’t think it will be a pushover for Rovers.

That comment from Mowbray, “they scored two poor goals”, really wound me up. He needs to give his head a wobble and not deflect the conversation away from the fact that they let a two goal advantage slip.

Paul Cook is a class above Mowbray, and you rarely hear him with disparaging remarks about the opposition. In most cases he usually compliments the opposition if they give us a tough game or take points off us. I think Mowbray is a sad and bitter loser with very little intellect !

I think credit must go to Gary Roberts. He’s spent a lot of time on the bench; but you get 110% when he comes on. A proper team player.

    Lest we forget!

The players probably enjoyed the short display as much as I did.

The four minute delay, when their mon had a bloody nose, did more to disrupt the flow of the game. Bet the Paras wouldn’t stop for a bloody nose !

Even Danny Graham is blessing the luck they had today !

When we played Rochdale they tried to play football without kicking Powell and Morsey off the park; so if they adopt that same approach I think it will suit us more than if a team turn it into a physical battle. Rovers have to go to Gillingham on the same night; I’m predicting 0-0 for their game. Never easy at the Priestfield.

He might get a job at Crewe Alexander.

See what you did there, Otter; very subtle

So will you miss the Latics Vs Latics game ?

in reply to: Will Grigg #167731
Got to admit though Ally he is consistently keeping up with his goal scoring prowess he started at Sunderland.
Imagine the stick Will would get or remember what Will got from some of our fans for just putting a shift in.

To be fair, I think Frankie (Vaughan)offered the Bury defence as much aggression as he received; a situation in which I think Will would have been innocuous. Don’t forget, Frankie had a goal chalked off for being a bugs dick offside (if he was, that is !). An 8 out of 10 performance for me; coupled with good performances from Power and Burn !

Vaughan put a great shift in and I think it was the correct choice for this game; he was constantly being fouled by the Bury defence, but the ref just let all their niggling go.

It came down to our Achilles heel not taking chances. They should have been beaten by half time. We need a big pain in the arse frontman to do the ugly stuff like big Em did. Someone to play to Will Griggs strengths. Its the half chances we seem to fluff all too often. We were superb throughout today and played some breathtaking stuff at times and made Southampton look like mugs. Fabulous performance by the lads which deserved better. If only we could have a cutting edge in front of goal. Once again my club has made me a proud Wiganner.

Me too Ste, thought Southampton road their luck and if only we had nailed the chances for Roberts and Hunt. In the end we can hold our heads high knowing that “little Wigan” will be back !!!
