Is that plus VAT ?
Sorry, couldn’t resist :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Not this time, Snake Man !
It came down to our Achilles heel not taking chances. They should have been beaten by half time. We need a big pain in the arse frontman to do the ugly stuff like big Em did. Someone to play to Will Griggs strengths. Its the half chances we seem to fluff all too often. We were superb throughout today and played some breathtaking stuff at times and made Southampton look like mugs. Fabulous performance by the lads which deserved better. If only we could have a cutting edge in front of goal. Once again my club has made me a proud Wiganner.Me too Ste, thought Southampton road their luck and if only we had nailed the chances for Roberts and Hunt. In the end we can hold our heads high knowing that “little Wigan” will be back !!!
Our goal difference could be the fine dividing line.
We have taken 8 points from four league games. That’s two points per game. Three of those games against promotion contenders and one against a team fighting relegation.Add to the mix a 2 goal comeback away to the league leaders and very late goals against Scunthorpe and Bradford, who says the wheels have come off!?
Its about points now not performances.
I wouldn’t swap our run in for Blackburns or Shrewsburys!
Hey Snake Fella,
That’s sort of the point that I’m trying to get across in my post “Law of Averages”
Okay, so today was a bad day at the office. Some people blab a load of shite; ie we can’t beat teams around us.
So far:
Blackburn have failed to beat us, so honours even.
Shrewsbury are the only top six side to narrowly beat us.
Rotherham, we already have 3 points in the bag with one to play.
Scunthorpe, we took 4 points from 6.
Plymouth, we bag all 6.Average haul from games played to date:
Blackburn 2.054 points per game
Shrewsbury 2.028 points per game
Wigan 2.06 points per gameYes its tight at the top, but let’s not push the panic button yet, because you can’t honestly say that Blackburn are leaps and bounds better than us. Take Dack & Graham out of their team and they look very ordinary.
FFS Keep the Faith
Our average points haul is now 2.088 :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
That was a 4 4 2 win Donny :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
It should steady our nerves a bit, and hopefully we can press on with two more away wins before Good Friday.
Think some of the posters on here have pressed the self destruct button, never mind the panic button. Let’s pick the team up, not knock them down; let’s give them a group of supporters worth fighting for !
Think he’s been gargling with the same Dettol that Sean Dyche uses !
All in all, thought we did well against the odds.
Remember you have to watch both sides and Blackburn were far from the finished article; lost count the number of times their long range passes went straight into touch. And, to be two up and concede two goals; tut tut. I don’t think the Latics fans will the most critical when they conduct the match analysis in the pub later !I wouldn’t be unhappy with a draw !
In London working so couldn’t go today but it’s going to go to the wire this promotion lark, great result for the Shrews away at Charlton a few expected them to struggle today and Blackburn are going stronger and stronger it will be interesting at Ewood to see if they do the same tactics as they played at the DW one thing for sure they can’t keep a clean sheet so another massive 3 points today for us even if we did make hard work of it.Good observation Grumps; hope their defence is leaky against the Latics.
That needs framing and putting on the walls of the DW concourse.
Th’Eggs have never witnessed such emotion !!!!!!!!!!
John Boy Walton: not normally that busy, saved brilliantly from the Argie.
Nathan “Sammy Davis Junior” Byrne: best game in a Wigan shirt, so he’s allowed to blow his own trumpet.
Chey Dunkley: never looked flustered by the 150m strike force.
Dan Burn: six foot seven, he should be six foot twelve after that performance.
Callum Elder: another best game in a Wigan shirt.
David “Dorothy Perkins”: brilliant effort, never lets the team down.
Max Power: brilliant performance, welcome back to the Tics fold.
Gavin Massey: good performance; if only that cross could have dropped in the box.
Nick Powell: hope it’s nowt serious and you can rip the Saints apart instead.
Gary “Audrey” Roberts: great effort, just like our other veteran.
Michael “Crackers” Jacobs: great effort and kept up the intensity.
Will Grigg: I’ve been playing your song all day ! Thanks for a brilliant moment of class that showed the big time Charlies how to find the net !
Jay Fulton: great game and really got stuck in where it mattered,
Ryan “CoCo” Colclough: valuable effort in his 14 mins on the pitch.
Bring on the Saints !
All together now; Let’s Hang On ( you know our tune )
