But Donny, you also keep reminding us that there is no longer a proper league or game structure that our reserve teams can benefit from; so there you go, a “proper game” to field our young hopefuls.

Now I hear you say, “ah but that game will have demoralised them”; but I say “I bet you a pound to a pinch of shit that everyone of those youngsters was buzzin, regardless of the result and is now eager for more”

So think positive “young man” and look at the whole picture, not just one game.

P.S is there a bar on tomorrow neet or is it BYO ?

    Final word on the matter:

Yes, it’s all about winning; but it is unrealistic to expect to win every game in the season ( that was last achieved in 1880 by the Invincibles, aka Preston North End ). Thus it’s about getting sufficient win percentages to achieve your objectives for the season, and if Paul Cooks delivers sufficient wins to gain us promotion and a money spinning run in the FA CUP, then he will please the vast majority of our true supporters. I actually trust Paul Cook’s judgement in how he will actually steer the club to meet these objectives; so at this point in the season I have no complaints.

Furthermore, I’ve lost count the number of times I heard our fans say that given a choice they would have chosen to win the FA CUP over staying in the Premier league ( including Donny :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: ). Surely this reinforces the acceptance that you can’t win every game and therefore you do need to focus on the games that really do matter to the club and the majority of the supporters, and of course meeting the seasons objectives.

So quit moaning and enjoy the season

Donny; at least it stops you moaning at the price of a Wembley ticket, had we progressed to the final :silly: :silly: :silly:

Don’t fret; this one could be a good un for the telly, me thinks !!!

    in reply to: Rovers #163007

Quite a few to worry about fil but Rovers coming the billy big bollox lately and they seem to think promotion is a formality. We know only too well it isn’t. Charlton are going well but its still Rovers and Bradford for me who will stop us going up if anyone.

I think the only club that can stop us going up is ourselves. As it stands it is in our own hands and if we continue to work hard and put the chances away we won’t have to worry about anyone else.[/quote]

    CORRECT, Mr HORC

I keep telling my father-in-law that Everton won’t go down (as he is panicking), but to be honest they need to start getting some points under the belt and quick. No team is too big to o down.

Are they still the only one’s that have never been relegated or have totally misheard that?

Apparently they have spent 114 seasons out of 118, in the top flight; more than any other club :woohoo: :woohoo:

Not being funny, but anybody who bore, or bears, any kind of grudge at Martinez for leaving us for Everton, must be an absolute retard.

Of course you’d go. Its a no brainer.

Big club, full every home game, Premier League. Better wages, better budgets, better facilities. If you didnt go, you’d be an idiot.

    Get over it.

    Hey there Vatman;

Let’s be clear, we love Bobby as a club legend and we all knew that he would go onto greater things. However, it is the timing and manner in which ( his own typical phrase )he left the club that has taken some of the shine off his crown. I watched his body language during the Swansea game, when he took us down; and he was lacking any passion or emotion as he stood with arms folded on the edge of his box.

Yes, we have let it go because we now have confidence that Paul Cook is eventually the right type of replacement that was needed. Bobby might have been “uber cool”, but I prefer a visual show of gut busting passion and emotion ( cos it’s harder to fake.

Nevertheless, statistically; Bobby was a successful Everton Manager.

Don’t be so harsh Donny; if you witnessed the game you would recognise this as the toughest game of the season so far, against one of the dirtiest sides so far. They came to spoil, and spoil they did.

Also channel 5 failed to show our clear penalty shout, but questioned their sending off.

All in all, could be a good point in the long run !

Maybe Bobby should be given a second chance !

    Dark days for Everton !

Another comfortable 3pts in the pot just concerned with our forward shortage now Grigg out.Just remind me why we signed Hunt??….Need to capitalise on our possession as I fear Rovers/Shrewsbury/Bradford may be a much sterner test than recent opposition won’t be able to squander chances.

Talking to the diehard Rovers fans at work, they say that Tony Mowbray sets up every game to defend; even at home. Needless to say, they are not happy. So I think we know what to expect next Saturday. Agree we need to turn possession into goals as quickly as possible in a game.
