Col Roughley’s dad with a big bag of winter nips !
Sitting on’t top of the dugout at Springy; and hav’in occasional peep over’t top to see what Les Rigby were doin.
Spitting on’t Ref as he made his way up the tunnel at Springy !
Th’away team parking their coach inside Springfield Park !
Apologies for any non PC terminology; but this reflects that moment in time:
How about those little blue three wheel invalid carriages that were aloud on the touch line at springy. As lads we used to call them Spaz Chariots ! When the football blasted into them, it must have been like landing back on earth in a space capsule.
Our paddy field of a pitch could be a good leveler tomorrow night though.
Bet we’ll be watering it before kick off !
I’m afraid I can’t take anyone seriously if they resort to calling a team Nob End.Nobbers – How old are you? Twelve??
As for the East Stand giving up their seats. No chance. Most ridiculous suggestion I’ve heard for years.
Bollocks to the money. Why would you want to increase Prestons support anyway? I’d be more concerned giving out free tickets to the local schools to increase our support.
Argus, were you born in 69 ? That’s after PNE were christened Knob End, so I’m afraid it’s here to stay.
Second point: I wouldn’t give them Lilywhite cryers any fookin tickets, cos they’d only bleat on about how “they brought 8,000 to our place”. They still bang on about it from about 1993 ( after they’ve filled my ears with Tom Finney this, Tom Finney that ).
Let me be the first, on this board, to say “Good Luck Gary” :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
What you have to remember fella’s is that there is a lot of halfwits out there that will see racism every where they look. Bar Bar black sheep, black boards, Robinsons jam, what’s next Black Sabbath are a racist band.People that see racism every where they look tend to have either a political agenda or are just fookin stupid brainwashed student’s with no life experience.
Nice one Snowy; is that Sammy that you are referring to ?
P.S hope you’re not offended that I call you Snowy :woohoo: :woohoo:As an Indian AND someone who has had an insight into the Morris world, it’s definitely not racist, but unless you know about Border Morris you could understand if uninformed people of any background get the wrong end of the stick (no pun intended).
What is wrong though is a traditional folk festivals banning it even though they know it’s not racist and normally sensible organisations like Respect saying the ban shows sensitivity when they too should know that there is no racist connotation.
What next, a black mime artist that isn’t allowed to white up?
It’s one thing to perform this at a folk festival Galatic where Border Morris is understood and another in the centre of a multicultural city such as Birmingham.
As in many of these incidents there is usually a back story. They must have been aware it could cause controversy but still went ahead which strikes me as being deliberately provocative. Social media is littered with such things having the sole intention of ruffling the feathers of xenophobic little Englanders and creating unnecessary bad feeling.[/quote]How about a different but more balanced viewpoint: we share our traditions and other cultures start to learn and integrate into this “multicultural” society !
One of My favourites; beltin fun !Nice one PLOT; looks like a good fun tradition !
Now looking forward to Saturday, eh boys !
Great news, now let’s hope he is given the full opportunity to flourish.
Barnsley will just have to sign Adam Barton from Emmerdale and make do with a “look alike”.
It’ll be on’t telly, cos they’ll be relishing of a cricket score for Man Utd and a good showin’ up for Little Wigan ! Time to prove em wrong.
Plus with the share of gate receipts, we can buy Omar Bogle.
We didn’t even win a throw in at Owd Trafford; or so it seemed at the time.
But irony & inevitability eventually come into play, and maybe, just maybe this will be the day, and we cam all re-Joyce :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: -
