Let’s have a touch of reality here.

Man City Vs Wigan – 2013 FA Cup final. I expected to get thrashed & humiliated. Is that entitled ? No, just reality !

Wigan Vs Canvey Island – FA Cup 1st round. I expected a comfortable win, as did the bookies odds. Was that entitled ? No, just reality ! However, I did pick up a nice little bundle of wedge after that game.

Wigan Vs Carlisle – FA Cup 1st round Nov 2024. I expected SM to use this game to kick start our season and rebuild some confidence amongst our team and the fans. Is that entitled ? No, just common sense and reality !

I think that Skeg’s use of “entitled” is definitely mis-placed.
A good explanation of entitlement is: feeling that you have the right to do or have what you want without having to work for it or deserve it, just because of who you are.
Now I guess that the majority of fans carry the same set of expectations as I do, when we look at our fixtures and assess where we should be winning games (as I expect SM would). That is not entitled. It is reality !
Winning those games comes with the physicality of hard work & endeavour, along with the Manager deploying a suitable strategy.

A good example would be Mr Whelan. Now, he wasn’t born with a silver spoon in his mouth; but did you label him “entitled” when he declared that he would take Wigan all the way to the Premier league.

Skeggy is so “out of touch”, he could get a seat within the current Government.
He must sit in the happy corner at the DW, with a few happy clappers; because the groundswell of opinion in the West Stand is not in favour of SM’s style and football tactics.
The thing that is the worst for me is: in our past 50 + years when we’ve had crap seasons, we have had a poor squad of players.
I actually think the current squad is capable of a lot better and above average for league 1; but we need a Manager who can adapt the the player’s potential, rather than the players adapting to a regressive style of play. If it doesn’t improve in the second half of the season, then my season ticket of 55 years is going up in smoke.

Wel done Skeggy, you spotted my arrogant streak. That’s what helped me to make a success in life. You usually find that positivity and drive go hand in hand with arrogance; thus resulting in winners. Once again you’ll find plenty examples to support this logic.
So are you; winner or loser 😲

I’ll tell you what Skeggy boy; arrogance is a quality in football that wins you games, leagues and cups !!!
Shock horror, but there are lots of examples out there to back up my statement. Just open your eyes.

OK, we’ve lost 1 in 8; but how many of those games were memorable ?
They weren’t wins; they were games that we would be expected to take all three points but ground ot a draw against inferior opposition. Let’s not lose the game football will not attract the crowds or potential new players.
Maloney might as well go out guns a blazing, rather than the fans falling asleep by half time.
I can remember when games were exciting and the fans went home exhausted and emotionally drained from the experience; especially the Paul Jewell era. If this was a marriage you would have binned your missus off by now

We won’t get past Carlisle.
After watching the Latics for 5 decades I think I’m allowed to make genuine criticism; and we are well and truly rubbish. The players are as good as any other in this league. The style and strategy of our play is boring garbage and there is only one stubborn person responsible for that. And don’t give me that “they’re a young team”, because they are a young team with talent but not allowed to utilise their true potential.
