yes that is correct the labour party said both safe seats at Makerfield and Wigan the candidates had to be women Lisa Nandy won Wigan and Yvonne Fovarque won Makerfield year 2010

Fovarque: that’s a good old British sounding name.

Yes some of his passing wasn’t up to scratch, but then again some of it was excellent. Would you rather a midfielder not to be involved in the game and a passenger than someone who get’s stuck in and whose performance is more visible.

Does this mean that the Premier Range Logo on the back of our shirts will be removed as from today ? Would be funny if we covered it up with gaffer tape instead.

Spot on LHL, did anyone else notice.

    Roger denies being homesick !

Yes, but their Chairman is not happy with the decision and says that it is a’kin to mob rule. Here is one of his replies:

“The people who believe that Ched should be punished for the rest of his life might call that a victory. I think of it as a defeat for the principle that punishment under the justice system should be left to those that are authorised by law.”

We need a bit of non PC from time to time, to provoke debate and opinion. If we were all very PC we would be sat amidst our stereotype grey lives nodding in agreement to each other and dying of boredom. At least this week’s events have woken this board up !

Think he should make all the press pay for entry & refreshments tomorrow; chase the “freeloaders” out of town.

Let’s hope that pork pies are off tomorrows free buffet for the media; otherwise they may twist it into something more sinister.

So this fella who changed Cardiff’s identity by changing to red which is lucky in his own country disrespecting the Cardiff fans and discriminating against their wishes now brands Mr Whelan and I quote “a racist chairman hiring a racist manager”

Now forgive me if I’m wrong but I thought that neither of them had been charged and convicted of the said offences. What happened to innocent before proven guilty?

    Lawyers at the ready.

I strongly suspect that Malky has learned his lesson and has not said anything racist, sexist or Homophobic during his short time at Wigan.
Now on the other hand, he allegedly did those things whilst manager of Cardiff. So, in theory, Mr Tan hired a racist, Big Dave has not.
Good point JR.

Whelan is old school and set in his ways which isn’t a crime in my view! Loads of people of that ilk still say ‘Chinky’ instead of Chinese when talking about Chinese takeaways, I know I do! Loads of folk still refer to Jewish people being careful with money, why is that offensive? I have told a few ‘Jewish’ jokes over the years! There is an issue with the homophobic and racist remarks though that cannot simply be brushed under the carpet. The FA should make a decision on what they are going to do and quickly, then we can get on with the game of football!

Because the “Jews” and the “Chinks” find it offensive, that’s why!!!

Listen, I’m no PC prude and I use that kind of language all the time. But I am not the public face of a major public institution whose every word is analysed and pulled to pieces.

I really have no issue with me, you or him saying these things in the privacy of his own home but he surely needs to realise that – whether we like it or not – society no longer deems that kind of language/attitude to be acceptable.
Privacy – it doesn’t exist; ask Malky, his texts are a private non verbal conversation.

So saying that some Jewish people are tight fisted is racist ? the same comment that has, still and will be the butt of alot of old jokes for generations to come.

It’s the same type of joke used regarding Irish been thick. So are we to ban all the “Paddy” jokes ?.
I was speaking with a friends Dad this morning (he’s 80’odd) an orthodox jew regarding Whelans comments. He chuckled and agreed with Whelan’s comment saying he’s not far off the mark as he (himself) is as tight as a sharks backside at a 100 fathoms.

So is this guy racist ????

I’m sorry but I couldn’t help myself but chuckle at this sketch. Gosh, does that make me racist or open minded ? It’s getting ridiculous and out of control.

It proves nothing of the sort.

It just proves that foreign players are generally cheaper.

Don’t agree at all. A racist would increase his Kudos amongst certain circles by putting policy into practice. Anyway, I have to question your use of foreign in reference to a person; we are all equal human beings and your adjective of foreign only serves to start the separation.

I couldn’t care less what the media or fans of other clubs think about us. TBH I prefer being hated. As a Wigan rugby fan you get used to it.

Yes but the rugby team are hated for their success.

We will be hated for demonstrating what an insular little club we are, and whose chairman – basically, the figurehead of the club – supports racist views.

He may have apologised, but the damange has been done no matter how much back-tracking and grovelling he’s conducting throught the press.

It’s hard enough attracting sponsors to the club without Mr Whelan’s comments. Now they are withdrawing their support.

I’m sure a lot of people have thought the things Mr Whelan said, but that’s they are not the sort of things to be said to the national media.

I’ve supported Whelan in the past and been one of his biggest defenders, but this time he has overstepped the mark and his comments are going to cost the club money, supporters, and reputation.
So are you going tomorrow ?
