The first four words in the post ended the debate
Have we ever played it. Bringing Davies on and pumping it hopefully forward for the last 5 mins doesn’t count btw.
To be fair Donny it ain’t just us with the odd exception. It’s almost like some footballing God said 442 can no longer work and everyone nodded and agreed never to go there again. Sure in a different lifetime it will return and all will abandon the modern day equivalent the 4231 which everyone has decided is the only way to play.
This would be nice to see at Barnsley though
Jussi
Byrne Morgan Buxton Warnock
Jacobs Powell McDonald Yanik
Grigg DaviesCorrect JR – McDonald the only signing Caldwell made that could be classed as an improvement. The rest utter bollox.
Spot on, couldn’t have put it better my self. Read several United Facebook forums and not a single negative comment.
The more you read about Warren Joyce the better the appointment seems.
Spot on that JR. The more I think about it the more the idea grows on me. Most experienced managers available are generally failed managers. Joyce ain’t that. He is experienced not necessarily the experience many believe he should have admittedly.
The one thing he’ll already know is Powell’s a waste of space
Just googled Warren Joyce and according to Wikipedia he is Wigan manager
Does anyone seriously think big Sam would come to Wigan?
Now there’s a thought. There management duo seem to get results.
Runcorn agree with most of what you say.
1) Totally agree possession football all day long over the hoof it but as you say its got to be played right, we simply just keep it and show no end product whatsoever. 1 injury time scrambled goal in 360 minutes is proof of that.
2) No team in the history of football has converted all of there chances but we create so few (2 good ones at best recently) means were pretty unlikely to register.
3) This is the bit I struggle with when Caldwell claims we dominate. I see dominate as creating all the chances and there keeper making plenty of saves, not having possession of the football and creating nothing!
4) Anyone out there actually believe in this show pony. Yesterday I don’t think he completed a single pass and his injury was almost a convenient excuse for him to say f$$ck it I’m off.
5) Yep !!
6) Probably still with you at the moment
7) No backlash just yet !!
Perkins MOM for me – never stops.
Although got to say that for 60mins watching Wilchut was worth my season ticket price alone.
Only one goal in second half
Bloody Rubbish Wigan ;)
A left winger with no end product who became a striker, who surprise surprise had no end product.
