And what is “usual”? Would you care to put a figure on that? Give me an idea of what you would consider to be an acceptable crowd figure for that game.
………………….Childrens Act.Got to agree with you on this fella.
I always remember a huge fight taking place at my school – folk were hanging out of trees (and some fell) such was the interest in this scrap.
The next day, the head announced that anyone who witnessed it was to report to the hall/gym at break. I wandered along and stopped just before entering as I was confronted by a row of lads and lasses hanging from the wall bars, being caned by said headteacher walking along the row!
Those kids grew up in an age of respect for authority and your elders. Sadly the chav parents of 9yr olds today grew up post-1989, where they were not subjected to a culture of respect at school.
I was there though and will be in 3 weeks time.I wonder how many other Latics ST holders will be doing the same. Its a reet shame the club cant switch the game to Friday night or Sunday evening, but y’naw, the global appeal of the Premiership must take precedence, even if it means playing to a half empty stadium at 3pm on a Saturday.
I bet casual home ticket sales are literally in the dozens for this one.

Never mind Rodders, you’ll have another 9 months of a relegation scrap to occupy your mind from next weekend rather than obsessing about your sucessful, trophy-winning lodgers.
Just for you Micky boy – I suspect this is about your level of military action:
:icon-rolleyes:
:teasing-knob:
Here’s a first…
I AGREE 100% WITH THE ABOVE!
Why on earth cant Wigan’s 2nd strip be all red or all yellow. Then there would be no need for a 3rd strip. There’s only 20 teams and most of them play in either red or blue, so make your 2nd strip the opposite to your 1st – simples!
The premier league should come down hard on this 3rd strip scam.
I’ve heard he just loves our 3rd kit and would kill to wear it!! ;)So on that basis he’ll play in a couple of away games all season. That’s about SWP’s limit anyway. He epitomises the overpaid, underworked “Squad man”. He can run (or could run when he was younger) and his adopted dad’s a former footballer and a former TV presenter. And that’s about it.
You’d be chucking money away on him and would be better spending the Nzog money on someone with age on their side and hunger in their belly. At least they’d give a fcuk!
Every time a post pops up about the Warriors do you realise how silly it looks. Tiny little things that reek of desperation and jealousy. How can you criticize their crowds when we have woeful crowds ourselves. Our away support is dreadful and only comes out to play when there is something at stake so to bring that up is just comical. We play the biggest sport in the world and can’t nearly fill it whereas the Rugby play in a sport which it at least 10 times least popular than football. You pick at their crowds, You pick at their fans, you pick at their defeats and you pick at their league. Well i am afraid The football is just as bad on every front and our league is the worst run and most corrupt in the world, (bar Italian Serie A) You moan when they get a big win and then they come on here and wind you up about it. Maybe if the threads like this were cut out the situation would not be inflamed and both sports can get on with it.Yosser, you put it so well. I salute you!
If you, the Mod with the green pen and the OP didnt continually start rugby-related threads, no rugby fan would ever post on here.
FACT.
Here’s a challenge for you Landgate, in your Mod capacity over the next month:
1. Remove all rugby-related posts.
2. Dont start any more rugby-related posts. Then see how many rugby fans come on here posting about rugby.
I’ll bet its a number between 0 and 0.
After all, the football season is 13 days away – surely you must have something better to talk about rather than this minority sport played by a handful of pit villages that are linked by a motorway….
Over to you….
Blackburn
Bolton
Everton
Liverpool
Man Utd
Man City6 grounds all within 25 miles of Wigan (compared to just 3 rugby grounds), so I guess on this theory you’ll sell out your full allocation this year, unlike all the previous years when you’ve struggled to even shift the bare minimum allocation.
To bring this back to page 1….RTFP…..Read the f*£*in& post title for a start before trolling.
So the opening thread wasnt a blatant troll attempt
Look chap…we know that you are about to be made redundant in October as part of the first tranche….hey! SH one T happens. However, unemployable ex-RAF clerks.Sadly you are wrong there fella. The first round of redundancies in the RAF are to be announced on 1 Sep, with people leaving on either 1 March or 31 Aug 2012 – I only wish I was being made redundant from my job – I am considered too valuable at the moment for any £60K payoff.
However, if and when I do finally leave my job, it will be in the knowledge that I have served my country for a good portion of my life, unlike some of the half-wits on here who would struggle to serve a portion of fries as the local drive-through.
I take it the tickets aren’t shifting well then.
Hows the tickets for the Norwich game going?
Its going to be hard shifting them all, seeing as the usual freebie outlets are still on school holidays.
ok heres your explaination15/07/2011 20:00 Wigan Warriors 48 v 6 Wakefield Trinity Wildcats DW Stadium 13095
06/07/2011 20:00 Wigan Warriors 26 v 16 Castleford Tigers DW Stadium 13096
08/05/2011 15:00 Wigan Warriors 52 v 0 Barrow Raiders DW Stadium 8026
22/04/2011 14:45 Wigan Warriors 28 v 24 St Helens DW Stadium 24057
your support is consistently worse than ours until the big games when you get all the JCLs.
So you are saying Wigan v Arsenal in a semi-final is not a big game?
Just remind me how many turned up for the Wigan v Hull City and Wigan v Notts County cup ties?
So, the reason why 10,000 Wiganers chose to not attend the (then) biggest match in their history was “it was a bit cold”. That is almost as pathetic excuse as “it was past their bedtime”.
Still, its good to see that the missing 10,000 found their hats & gloves in time to attend the game against Liverpool a month later (when it was also cold).
As I said before, big rugby matches are nothing new in the town of Wigan, and the fans are a bit blase about them – that is why crowds for these are lower.
