Or maybe it is something to do with the large TV screen in that corner of the ground.
Seems like the rest of the ground is pretty much full though, unlike yesterday’s disappointing turnout.
It wouldnt happen if all the empty seats in the North Stand had been allowed to be sold.
Plus, for visits of clubs like Utd, why not give them extra tickets either in half the South Stand, which never sells out, or a couple of blocks at the end of the West stand, which again isnt very popular amongst the home fans.
I reckon even Victor’s older brother would have been no use today.
But would you rather be known as a side who plays from the back (albeit very slowly, and often with no success), or like Stoke City, with their anti-football tactics?
I’m really not interested in a willy waving contest as to how many ST holders come from wherever – merely pointing out a fact that in Wigan this weekend there will be far more interest in the WCC than either the 6 nations or Latics v Man Utd. Probably more interest than the numbers of those two combined.
Don’t think it will affect tomorrow’s gate just want it to overshadow the worriers game on Sunday.Of course it will overshadow Wigan v St George – the southern-bias media will always make sure of that.
I doubt that is the case in Wigan though, where Sunday’s game will be of far more importance to the town as a whole than any sporting event in the world this weekend.
Hopefully the 1700 Kick-off will mean that there will be a good crowd on the DW for the visit of arguably the most famous club in the world.
It would be awful if there were a few thousand empty seats due to a rugby fixture taking place!
Have they sold all their tickets for Sundays match bearing in mind 45000 went to owd Trafford ?
No chance tickets available in all stands.[/quote]
Not very many tickets available now – only approx 1100 to choose from.
Are you against special offers to entice the armchair fan Wigmon?
I cant remember the last sporting event at the DW that didnt have a special offer attached – be it 2 for £20, free kids etc etc. There are thousands who took up that offer – seen in the higher attendances for the visits of the likes of Fulham & Blackburn than the home games against Man City etc.
I’ll bet that the higher attendance at the DW this weekend will be on Sunday, despite it not being inflated by 5000 visiting fans.
Seconded.
Cant even get an anti-rugby thread going seeing as they won convincingly.

When you watch games like Arsenal v Barcelona, you realise just how much of a gulf there is between these sides and the “others” that make up the premiership and La Liga. The passing, movement and skill on show tonight was something else.
Whilst I am pleased that Arsenal won with their two englishmen in their side, I cannot see them getting anything other than a beating in the Nou Camp next month.
I thought the 14K at the Reebok was bad but 7515 was a piss-poor turnout.
Alas it appears that both Millenium Magic and the FA Cup are treated equally with disdain by the Wigan public. The only difference being that Cardiff is a 250 mile round trip and the game was on TV.
Which one of Hull, Bradford, Salford, Catalans, Wakefield or Warrington are you talking about? They all lost.
