What is means though is either the Klumps or Anti-Football FC will be in the final.
I think I will take my wife shopping that day.
Now they’ve had a sniff of what its like to be in the Champions League later stages, they’ll be desperate for a repeat performance. To get that, they need to keep winning games, particularly against sides they should put away in their sleep.
I cant see anything coming the Latics way in this game (and the one after) other than a defeat. At best a plucky defeat.
Latics will still be bottom of the pile come 16 April and the trip to Blackpool – thats when the season starts!
Based on that theory (both sides get the same number of tickets for a final) it seems the Scouse Lodgers have lost around 40,000 fans since the Grand Final then…..
St Helens 16, Harlequins 27
Att: 6050Mind you, I’m confused how 90,000 fitted into Old Trafford when it only holds 75,000 for the GF.

We go down, we get the parachute payments.
We Sell: Nzogbia for 12 million
Rodallega for 10 million
Figueroa for 5 million
Boselli for 5 millionI think you’ll find their resale values will probably halve if relegation happens.
Unless a relegation pay-cut clause was written into their contracts, the club will want them off the wage bill ASAP. The players will want out, and the first half-decent bid will be accepted.
Relegation, whilst not disasterous, would be a bad thing, unless the wage bill reduces. Remember as well that the crowds will drop by about 6,000 per game.
A very poor game IMHO. One side who looked pretty with the ball, but couldn’t penetrate their way through a tissue, against another who looked like they’d just been introduced to each other at kick-off.
Its a shame that a howler decided it, particularly from arguably the player of the season so far.
For someone who claims to have supported the Latics for 33 years, its a bit sad that your first post-football match post tonight (within 30 minutes of the final whistle) is a rugby-related one.
Dont you think your keyboard efforts would be better discussing Al-Habsi’s howler, or the millimetres that meant Sammon’s last-second shot didnt get a point against a very ordinary Citeh side.
You really need to channel your energy in the right direction – hating the warriors will not keep the Latics up, but supporting the Latics might.
As a St Helens lad, I’d expect nothing more, but fair play to you for admitting who has the more loyal fans!
If he has committed an offence that the club feel warrants his sacking then fair play to them – no doubt Gleeson will continue his career with another club. It takes a strong manager & owner to sack a valued asset, and this kind of leadership will ensure that Wigan Warriors continue to move in the right direction.
Of course, the Latics are also to be applauded for sacking Marlon King. Its a shame other football clubs dont take this line – Joey Barton being a prime example.
I expect the Latics to still be bottom of the league at 3pm on 16 April, before the Blackpool game. However, the final 6 games offer several chances of salvation – all against sides that are either going to be in the relegation scrap, or with nothing but a higher position to play for.
It all depends on how much of a stomach for a scrap the players have.
The above post was posted at 09:20PM on Sunday Feb 27th. So HOW am i 28hrs late with my comment about YOU doing the Wiggin Walk :teasing-knob:It was a reference to the stream of folk seen on TV exiting the JJB and crossing the bridge just as Rooney & Berbatov were breaking from inside their own half to score Utd’s 3rd.
Yes, there were a few empty seats, but the vast majority of the 600 empty ones were due to the positioning of the TV screen making the seats unable for sale, not the apathy of the Wigan public towards their sporting team.
Its not Rocket Science 33…
Birmingham dont take many fans away, apart from cup finals and Villa/Wolves/WBA.
Tickets are back at £20/£15. No BOGOF. No 2 for a tenner or 3 games for £12 like there have been before.
Why would these missing 5000 suddenly come back for a full price game against Birmingham, when they didnt come back yesterday?
I think you are about 28 hours late with the observation about the Wigan Walk Taz. That was about 4.20pm yesterday.
No, I wasnt at the game tonight. I watched it at home on tv, wearing my XXXXL Ellgren 80’s replica shirt (I think its shrunk in the wash mind), eating pies and drinking ale, whilst shouting “Gerrem onside” every couple of minutes.
But thanks for your concern.
:teasing-knob:
Freeloading Wan kers would be another way. Less than 13000 home fans when there’s no ticket offer on speaks volumes.
I shudder to think how many (few) will show up for the Birmingham game, seeing as there’s no offer on for that one, and they wont be bringing 5000 fans.
An insult that could never be hurled at the home fans who showed up yesterday.
However, the 5000 that showed up for the game against Fulham last month but couldnt be ar$ed to turn up for a game against the biggest club side in the world – SCUM OF THE EARTH!!!
