The only reason I wanted him to stay was hopefully to help keep key players. Who knows what went on behind closed doors ? Maybe Mr Whelan couldn’t or wouldn’t give Robbie the financial assurances he requested, Idont think well ever get the truth.Whatever his reasons for going one thing is for sure we will find it even more difficult to push for promotion and I for one can sense a Whelan cash in sale should Robbie go to Everton and come knocking for Maloney, and Macmanaman. He’s done it before this time he’ll use the financial loss of relegation to justify it this time. He should have had more concern last 3 seasons when the 3 year relegation plan was in progress. As for new manager ????? I wouldn’t have a clue. .. Whose the cheapest ???
I reckon we have more than enough last 3rd quality to give City problems , lets face it on quite a few occasions this season they have been made to look average the reason United ran away with the title. In the league game 3 weeks ago we should have won comfortably and Swansea made them struggle last Saturday. Now for the negatives. ..as we know their players are accustomed to games of this magnitude.We will concede and as at city the quality of a 250k a week striker proved the difference, one chance. .one goal. …So for me it’s a 3-2 win for Wigan , the winner coming in last 5 mins with City players rattled and down to 10 men.
I love my club so going in the championship is a balls up.The loss of revenue to a club of our size is going to make life difficult but we will have to just get on with it and see what happens. As other posters have stated our early and mid season lack of urgency could this time be fatal. The ” it’s the performance that counts not the result” statement has finally come back to haunt Robbie. It’s the results that count and if you look good then that’s a bonus.
but McManaman was knackered. That’s why he came off…………………………….Why was he knackered ? Is he carrying an injury ?
I know its pessemistic but I can’t see us getting another point as Villa have finally found the goals and Arsenal still have champions league spot to play for.I personally think we need one of the 2 above us to lose both of their final 2 games then us having to do Villa to have any hope as I can’t see anything other than a loss at The Emirates,and to keep the loss down to the bare minimum for the gd.You never know what could happen yet as i think the teams above us will have many nervy moments yet !!!

Poor decision playing Caldwell …. golobart must be a vessel if he can’t oust him.Taking macmanaman off for the galloping hairpin was another bad one. But the 4 season old problems still haunt us and in fact have worsened.The continual passing our way out of trouble. The players seem indoctrinated by this philosophy. …..does Robbie fine them if they put their laces through it ??? It was nothing more than a shambles last night .A great opportunity at home against a team struggling for a win, michu injured and with the crowd fired up and granted I think nerves played its part but we showed why we are where we are.If we do drop it wont be because of these last 5 or 6 games or the catalogue of injuries in these last few games it will be because of the shite we served up from October to January.
4 wins at home. ..3 goals conceded against a tean without a win in 7.Albeit macmanaman no having a great game but it’s time to close the door on our way out when di santo comes on.A great opportunity blown and of course we have injuries but so does everyone else. No complaints from me we were poor…again.played poor at West brom but luck ran out tonight.
Blackpool away and Northwich away for me.As stated by a previous poster Blackpool was a great rip snorting cup tie, , fabulous atmosphere great game and replay to boot . Northwich if my memory not totally goosed was abandoned with freezing fog engulfing the ground when we were 3 up , came back for re-arranged game and managed a draw.(please correct me if I’m wrong and I’ll make an appointment with the brain consultant. !!
