Hull reckon they going to be 3 or 4000 down because of it.
Crowd was over 23500, which is pretty much full.
But then again, Hull is a big city and they have an old, well-established football club that can shift 23000 tickets, even when one of their two rugby sides are playing at Wembley.
Latics cant – therein lies the difference.
The last time The Slobs went to Wembley we were at home to Fulham notorious for lack of away following and something like 20 thousand home fans turned up to put two fingers up at the press who were gathering to write their usual garbage. Actually that was one of pur best crowds of the season.

You missed the bit about giving out 5,000 free tickets, but apart from that you were correct.
Maybe you should include it in your next Five for – 5 Latics games in the last 2 years where no free/discounted tickets were offered and the crowd was over 20,000.
So tomorrow Come on Hull Dockers or Grimsby or Beverley or whoever the lodgers play.Maybe next year, eh?

You are right – it was a crap game. Just as the FA Cup Final was a crap game. And there were empty seats, just as there were in May.
However the facts are that Wigan now have two of the oldest sporting knock-out trophies in their possession – something never done before and probably wont ever happen again.

The final of a minority sport played across the length of the M62 wont make most national papers. But I thought Latics were a world-wide household name after their premiership and FA Cup exploits.

I look at this way our previous record attendance against Doncaster was 5834 tonight it was 14374 a significant increase one may sayI look forward to this rationale come Sunday as to how you will justify a “significant increase”.
When Wigan and Middlesborough last played the crowd was 16806.
