Lets also see if the points are deducted from the 22/23 season or the 23/24 season.

What did you think of the rumour doing the rounds in 2020 that DW was the 3rd member of the local consortium that Ian Lenagan was trying to bring in for sporting Wigan (the other one being Danson), but he declined to be part of it.

in reply to: The deals done #200060

Danson owns a large % of the holding company that owns Wigan Warriors.

You’ve been bought by t’rugby. Stop deluding yourself.

Great news for everyone – except of course Bullitt and Bickymon who now face a choice between eating humble pie and crawling back to their seats in the stadium now owned by a warriors co-owner, or fucking off for good.

You need to leave your ego at the front door fella. As CW has said, its gone way beyond the point where who owns a stadium is the most important thing.

If Danson is the successful bidder, it will help bring the clubs under one umbrella, and for those on both sides who cant accept that – fuck off and do something else with your lives.

I might be OK with danson so long has he does not leg the rugby fans hang their rugby rags from South stand
Turn the stadium into a rugby museum put in cherry and Shute seats
Or.name the stadium after testing park

Starting to soften your tone now? Give it a couple of months and you’ll be that glad to have a club, you’ll be sat on a red seat at the New Central Park Stadium with a Warriors Club Crest carved into it. ;-)

How long would you work for nothing ?

If I was safe in the knowledge that I was at the front of any creditor queue for money, quite a while. And when there are assets like the stadium and the training ground and even the DW statue, then any one of those could be sold and my salary would be covered.

That said, I dont see a host of clubs beating the door down to sign either of those, even on £500 a week.

Fine. As I said on the other site, if it happens anyone with that attitude should leave and make sure the door doesn’t slap their arse on the way out. And never come back.

And for clarification – that also includes any Latics haters from the red side.

Oi Judas, you turned your back on us years ago but still hanging around like a bad smell!

Still here. You seem to be quiet though Ste – no office blocks or statues to go and shout at?

in reply to: Takeover imminent #199971

Were close to the point were any player not been paid can have their contracts terminated.
This will mean any player we could command a fee for can leave for nothing. This guy has completely catastrophically destroyed this club.
Not only the points but basically we won’t have 1 player left not a soul. At this rate we’ll go past the 30 day transfer embargo so next season we will only be able to sign free agents and loans.

What an absolute turd of a guy

Wyke & Magennis are going nowhere CW. They know that whatever happens, their grossly oversize pay will be settled, ether by current owners, new owners or by an admin firesale when they are at the front of the queue.

gents, its time to stop thinking about biting the hand that might feed you. Danson or Leneghan are a far better option than fizzy pop mon, or these shysters currently holding the keys to the castle.

At least with local owners and the support of the local MP, you have half a chance of coming out of this still a football league team.

We missed our first wages payement way before last October more like March 2022 so it happened when we were right up there knocking on the promotion door, this is what happens when you get it oh so wrong financially.

I think the truth will come out soon enough as to who did the spending and which people took huge payments out the club bonuses etc by bringing in players in all honesty we didn’t need.

I can categorically tell you that, this is a much bigger mess than last time. For months the bills have been piling up behind the door to the point their now not been paid and havent been for a while.

Administration won’t hang on while we drip feed them money from the sale of assests because we don’t have anywhere near the assests we had last time and unlike last time were the bills stopped been paid over night, these bills stopped been paid over months.

If Begbies come knocking that’s it it’s game over for us that’s unless someone steps up with millions and that’s just to clear the debts nevermind bring in players.

Someone needs to step up to the plate and show their money, as someone previously mentioned how’s about Whelan giving Sharp the money and bring Jackson back ?. Let’s face it, DW not getting any younger and you can’t take it with you.
Out of all the sh1t we’ve been through I honestly fear for us. With little assests to sell just to keep the club running and what players we do have will be allowed to leave free anyway (non payment of wages) then there’s nothing to sell bar the stadium

Up steps Lenagan and Danson to finish us off
That would be a sad sad day for the club

A great post until you drag Leneghan & Danson into it, implying that they have any role in this.

Its 100% down to Wigan Athletic. From Whelan selling to money launderers to the current owners and their bullshit to some of the fans who whip up this anti-rugby tripe and have egged Talal the liar on, massaging his and Brannigan’s ego’s. The best thing for you now is for a local guy with short arms and deep-ish pockets to buy the club, then run it tightly, sack off Wyke, Power, McLean & co and play kids. With the support you have, there is no way on earth you should be going bust, unless you fail to cut your cloth accordingly. Similarly, 8-10,000 wont see you survive financially in the Championship. Spend some time in the lower league sorting your shit out and come back stronger when you are in a position to do so.

Surely its got to be better than some 20 year old who has no money and his most successful business is flogging cans of pop at the school tuck shop.

FFS – you really couldnt make it up!

    in reply to: Wyke #199875

If you had around 50 years to live and the next 12 months would be the last chance you have of earning enough money to secure the next 5 years of your life would you walk away from the wage?

in reply to: Silence is not golden #199852

If he hasnt found another club by then, he gets paid until 31 July – or not as the case may be.
