why don’t you lot beggar off to the worriers.com site to discuss egg chasing, or see how they react if you start discussing latics on that site.

There are two threads running on RL Fans – strangely enough on the Hull & Hull KR boards. I dont understand why you would think a football match between Arsenal & Hull City would have any discussion value on a Wigan Warriors site.

The general concensus is that the RFL have screwed up and should swap London v Catalan for Hull KR v Hull. That way they would only be inconveniencing a couple of hundred fans rather than a whole city.

Its an absolute no-brainer to anyone who follows both rugby and football in Hull as to which ticket they buy for May 17th. Similarly, its an absolute no-brainer to anyone who only follows one or the other sport.

Its such a simple decision, even Yorkshire folk can grasp this one!

Team selection and tactics were spot on IMHO – to make Arsenal look pretty ordinary for 120 mins is no mean feat.

Wigan may have lost yesterday and the outstanding defence of the cup is over, but the experience of big matches and playing at Wembley four times in 12 months will give you a huge advantage come play-off time. As long as you stay in the play-off places, you are nailed on for a return to the premiership.

Well done yesterday – again you made Wigan proud of you.

It could be seen as either 2pts dropped or 1pt gained, such was the last 10 mins of the game.

However, looking at a bigger picture, I’m sure even the most die-hard fan wouldn’t have expected to have won the last 6 league games before tonight, and if they had been offered 19pts out of the next 21 at 5pm on 8 Feb, they would have taken it.

Its been a bit of a train wreck for our friend Mutty today.

Sunderland dumped out the FA cup by a poor Hull team, the chubsters done by a last minute try by a poor Cas team…….and then the icing on the cake, the team he loves to hate, beats the most expensive team in premier league history to build, on their own middin. :cheer:

Mr Muttywhitedog, everybody on this super Sunday, have well and truly pished on you from a great height! :P

Im so pleased that in your great moment you took time to think of me. You are correct that I was seriously disappointed by the results in Yorkshire yesterday, but very pleased to see Wigan turn Man City over – particularly as one of my work colleagues had been lording it since last Sunday – going to work today will be a much more pleasurable experience!

Of course, the added bonus of Wigan making the semis is that I’ll get another couple of freebie tickets for the game….

    Wemberlee….Wemberlee….

Opinion. I dont think Wigan have enough to win three play-off ties this season.

And besides, some on here wouldnt want to go up via the playoffs judging by their scathing views of other sports’ playoff systems! ;-)

in reply to: Yes or No… #128126

    Yes.

    No.

And why can we not win playoff Mutty?[/quote]

    A simple answer is all that is needed to this simple question which cant be answered as maybe or dont know;
    will we:
    a) make the play offs
    b) win the play off final

The OP asked for a simple answer to a simple question. I grasped the concept. You didnt.

in reply to: Yes or No… #128122

    Yes.

    No.

I disagree. Seeing as there is a guaranteed £427,500 just for being on TV in the 6th round, then the club could have taken a punt on the extra 2250 tickets and even if none of them were sold, the cost would have been a maximum of £45,000, with the added advantage of 2250 less City fans cheering their side on.

Judging by the speed at which the remaining tickets went on sale suggests that most, if not all, of the tickets would have sold next week, particularly as today was payday for many working people.

The entitlement is 15% (unless of course you are playing Arsenal and might have a chance of beating them)

However, if an away side insists on their 15%, then the home club is perfectly within their rights to demand payment for those seats in advance.

It may be that WAFC doesnt believe they’ll sell 6900 tickets, and have accepted a 3000 allocation.

in reply to: Quarter final #127644

6900 is a lot of tickets to sell though.

    in reply to: Cup #127516

Any theories why your game hasn’t been allocated a date/time by the TV companies yet. As I understand, ITV get 1st & 3rd pick, with BT sport getting 2nd and 4th.

As ITV have already (unsurprisingly) chosen Arsenal v Everton, then the silence from BT sport suggests they fancy either of the other ties before yours.

Even Coventry’s visit to Arsenal was picked quicker.

In fact anybody thinking of not going will need to send a detailed explanation or a note from their mum to our away support statistician , Mutty.

Best I get my mailbox expanded then. ;)

Did the incorrect claim that Huddersfield took 5000+ bore you?

Did the incorrect claim that Carlisle took 7000+ to the SOL bore you?

Did the incorrect claim that Wigan Rugby averaged less than 4000 in the 1980s bore you?

Then as a Moderator, if this bores you, bin the thread or lock it. Show your maturity.

If you “only deal in facts”,as you say, where did you get the untrue fact,of only 500 who went to Cardiff.on friday Latics repoted they had sold over 1,400 tickets for the Cardiff game.So obviously you don’t deal in facts but utter crap.

I tend to reduce my claim on the number of Latics fans by the amount the original snide post is out by. In this case, out of a crowd of 16,777, and 859 visiting fans, somehow there are only 15,000, whereas it was almost 16,000. In this case, I just deducted 1000 from your visiting fans knowing full well someone would bite.

Some clown claimed Huddersfield took 5000+ to the DW the other night – it appears you lot have difficulty counting when it comes to attendances.
